Well, damn.

I don't expect any of these megatons to have a 2013 release date, but still, WiiU will now be bought for sure.

Hard to make out but I noticed this blue writing in the corner.

There's green writing earlier on which seems to be a party member/another player, so I'm guessing this might be an objective marker, unless there are also other players who aren't in your party.

Monsterhunter x lost planet x phantasy star, with a sauce of the same futuristic fantasy anime crap we've seen a thousand times before. It boggles my mind how people can get excited for the exact same shit every.single.time.

Because people who played the previous game can tell it's not like what you list but like said game instead, plus maybe we've seen its ilk before but we don't exactly get all that many good freeroaming RPGs anymore, you know, so when one shows up it's only logic we get excited.

I would guess it has co-op. It would have suited Xenoblade pretty well, and I'm sure this will have a single player option too. And it's Takahashi, I'm sure it will have a crazy, lengthy story and not be a MH clone.

And I doubt it's THAT far off. I mean, Xenoblade came out in Japan nearly 3 years ago, so they've been working on this for a while. 2014 at the latest unless Monolith Soft is having Square Enix-like issues.

The kind of hype that surrounds a new Monolith game is akin to what used to surround FF in the late nineties IMO.

I really think it's Xenoblade sequel with optional co-op. Since the party attack is still in the game(which doesn't make sense for multiplayer).

Ha! Nice catch!

This is definitely a Xenoblade sequel, from the arte palette to the three party member status stacked on top of each other on the top right, party attack, unique monsters, fast running speed for traversing the massive overworld.

I'm so fucking psyched!

is beloved, despite what anyone might say
I nearly fainted... my favorite game of last gen getting a sequel??? With mechs and what looks like a more interactive battle system? Graphics look absolutely gorgeous and imaginative, Monolith has always had some of the best artists in the industry so it's nice to see what they can do with WiiU.

This looks ridiculously awesome. Did anyone see the MMO-like screen during the beginning scene? About :23 seconds in?

omg
The X is basically a Xenogear. Battle system seems to be close enough to Xenoblade, not sure about the multiplayer. I'll keep hyping.

Looks amazing...I had high expectations for Monolith's Wii U game and this exceeded them. I hope Square has been taking notes

It looks like they're keeping the Xenoblade combat system, which I didn't really like. Hopefully it's evolved somehow.

No reason to think they are until we see them.
2014 seems like a safe bet... for Japan.
Hopefully there's a push to get this out in North America either simultaneously or in short order.

Expecting something along the lines of:
- Pikmin 3 - Summer 2013
- New Mario 3D, Yoshi Epic Yarn, Zelda Wind Waker - Fall 2013
- Bayonetta - Spring 2014
- New Mario Kart - Summer 2014
- New XenoDolls Game - Summer-Fall 2014 (Heh, XenoDolls.)
- New Smash Bros. - Fall-Winter 2014
- New Zelda HD - 2015

Something like that.

Meanwhile at Square Enix...
- Final Fantasy Versus XIII - 2015?????

If this is a MonHun clone I'm out. I want that 60h SP-experience without that PSO/MonHun. Those games are good for that, I want my Xeno pure. ;)

Too bad if it turns out this way because everything else looks very promising. Please prove me wrong Monolith!

So what do people think of the graphcs tech-wise? Looks great, but is it beyond PS360 territory? I'm not sure.

Plus this looks way too much like Xenoblade 2 and I thougght it was supposed to be a new IP?

I can't contain the excite in my pants. Seriously, holy fucking shit. And I don't get it, where are the Monster Hunter comparisons coming from? This is Xenoblade in HD with the ability to remove limbs and mechs. :/

What's even more exciting about this is Monolithsoft has probably been working on this game for 3 years or more since Xenoblade came out in June 2010 in Japan. That seems weird to me since I didn't play it until last year but for the sake of this next game it's great news.

Everyone calling this a MonHun clone obviously never played Xenoblade.

The way that trailer was set up...and Shulk's reveal at the end. Chills. I need to look more into Sawano's compositions. The music really added a lot to that trailer.

Looks amazing. As long as you don't lose anything by playing single player only and can 100% the game without playing multiplayer, day f-ing 1!

wasn't part of the wiiu gamepad supposed to be so each player could have their own screen to make previously undoable forms of local co op doable?

I mean I don't imagine 4 player local co op, but it wouldn't surprise me if you could do two player, one person using the tv screen and one using the wiiu pad... no? (to get 4 player it would be online obviously)

That would be awesome. While I'd never touch online multiplayer, I'd love local co-op in a game like this.

It doesn't say "Xenoblade 2" anywhere in the trailer, though. It says "X," so that's what's there.

Oh, I just realized it doesn't... well, all indications do point it to being apart of the same series though.

Hopefully we get more details around E3.
