So, now i am waiting for

- Ni no Kuni WE from Amazon Germany

- Ni no Kuni 400 page guide from Namco

- Hyrule historia from US Amazon

What are my chances that everything goes well and get everything, plus all 3 bonus familiars ?

Ive never heard of them. Certainly not a widely know Australian online store.

They are mostly known for selling books, I think.

They screwed me over the one time I ordered from them. I order the Heavy Rain special edition and used a coupon I found on the internet and they canceled my order without explanation.

I managed to get it for cheaper at a retail store anyway, but I didn't order from them again. But I'll try again with this game...

EDIT: Yeah I'm having second thoughts on Fishpond's reliability, so I ordered from Amazon.fr it costs $5 more the Amazon.de, but the packaging seems to be multilingual whereas the German one may or may not be.

I guess the strategy guide that Namco is offering us is something but I really wish that they would just give us all the pre-order DLC (including the one from the guide and the ones from the WE) as that covers any potential losses from choosing the WE and not getting it fulfilled when we could have, say, chosen Amazon and gotten that pre-order bonus. Of course, the WE being fulfilled would be the optimal solution, but I would rather have all the DLC familiars over the guide itself. That would also probably be less expensive for Namco to actually give than the guide as well.

i think we'd all rather get the wizard companion. forget some stupid coin, some soundtrack, some doll. a lot of people who ordered the WE already ordered the guide. makes perfect sense, if you're willing to spend $100+ on a game might as well shell out $20+ to complete the set. this is such a bitchslap, really. first off, we still don't have the game yet they're giving us a guide for it? secondly, that $20 coupon is useless because the game we're interested in isn't even on the site. basically it's one big middle finger. "Sorry we didnt get you the game, so here's something you woulda bought or maybe even did buy because you thought you were getting the game." it's both hilarious and upsetting. they actually think we're that stupid.

if they're giving us a $40 MSRP item plus a $20 off coupon, might as well give us a $60 standard edition. that $20 is just further bait for them to profit off.

Rumba, I think its time to step outside the thread and sleep on this. You are really over doing this, I get being upset- we all are, but let it go.

While the guide is a nice gesture, I still don't get why they can't just make the arrangements to get a few thousands of the "magic books" printed, and sell them on their site. Doesn't even need to be "now", but in 2-3 months. That way, the press that gets the job gets money, Namco gets money and the fans (well most of them) get the book they want.

overdoing what? we're getting something no one asked for. not only that, but we're left looking for other ways to buy the Wiz Ed without paying $400 for it. do they actually think people would want to deal with DigiRiver yet again, to give us $20 off their store which doesn't even carry NNK? rofl. i think most people, as it stands, won't even use the coupon.

I don't get why they don't just get a majority of the items from the Namco Bandai Europe since they seem to be making more than enough. All they'd have to reprint are NTSC Copies of the game (because of the colored disc art, case art, and manual) and the NinoStarter stuff, which seem like some of the cheapest things to make. And the boxes and generate DLC codes and print them on papers, I guess.

lol what credit? they're sending us a guide for a game we don't have. that's like cancelling an order for a computer then giving you an instruction manual as an apology.
It's probably more like sending a video card, or at least a few complimentary games. You're going to want the computer to use those assuming you didn't have another or get another anyway, but at least it's a very nice boon.

Ive been working all night and dont feel like checking through 10+ pages. Is there some sort of issue that should make me worry about my amazon.de order? Other than the hardcover guide Namco is giving out, what else is going on?

Does Digital River exist in the UK/Europe? If not, don't worry.
More importantly their orders AREN'T being fulfilled by Digital River, so even if they do it's a moot point. At worst more competent stores will provide better service as they end up being undersupplied, and blame can go to a third party rather than the same people you bought from.

All 3 DLC familiars isn't very likely.
You'll have the PAL version of the game but the North American version of the guide. The guide would come with a North American PSN code. It likely will not work with the PAL version of the game.

There probably aren't thousands of people who were hurt from this. So the print run would be very small and per unit cost would be very high. They could print more than they need to lower the per unit cost but they likely don't think there is demand for "a few thousand" of these books to be sold separately.

It also does a disservice to the people who pre-ordered during NinoStarter - the majority of whom did not have order cancellation issues - by devaluing what they got for committing to the game early.

The logistics of a re-print are very messy. Giving what they have is decent compensation of your trouble. I know it's not what people wanted the most but we have to be realistic. Don't expect to get "$400 worth" of compensation when in reality you lost $0 and are coming out of it with a $46.99 MSRP item for free.

Though I totally understand the frustration in all this... especially for the NinoStarter people who got cancelled for "billing issues".

is WE from amazon de has any differences than u.s WE ?

It's missing the 2-track CD, the art prints, and the coin. It's also the PAL version of the game. But it comes with the book which is supposedly in English.

The guide is also available here for £14.99 delivered for those who don't want to pick it up from WHSmith (or you could just add £2.21 worth of stuff to the WHSmith order for free delivery).

I think I might just cancel my amazon.de order. I bought the regular game already, $100 for the book is a lot

Have you started the game and looked at the in-game version of the book? If you look at that and don't desire the book immensely, then canceling your WE order is probably the right way to go.

i know it's written on the format category: Hardback
but are they for sure it's hardcover ? i'm afraid it may be paperback :(

The ISBN seems to suggest its the same one listed as the paperback version on Amazon, although is there even a paperback version printed? Amazon removed the release date on the paperback version the other day. It's a bit of a mess since they all suggest they're hardback, even Amazon's description on the paperback says it's a hard cover.

I cancelled my Amazon order and then my Book Depository one for the WHSmith one earlier, so hopefully they don't mess it up.

Looks like my WE journey has come to an end. Opened my copy and it was in perfect condition, Drippy plush and all.

Sorry to those that got dicked over. :(

now to sum it up between US & EU versions of WE:
1- EU doesn't have special art for the cover and disc http://i.imgur.com/gCyVKgw.jpg
2- EU doesn't have golden coin
3- EU doesn't have the 5 artwork cards
4- EU doesn't have special luxury packaging compared to US version

i ignored the OST cd since it's only have 2 tracks

i know the previous 4 difference from my point of view are hard to ignore for collectors like me, but for a free hardcover guide+$20 voucher to use in exchange for shipping options if they'd charge us, it can make some of us feels kinda OK with it

i'm just hoping that the would really grant the chance for all of us equally to grant the chance to own the guide book with the chance of saving any extra charges by the $20 vouchers.

hope there would be no limited stock or secret placing order URLs

I don't think we can use the voucher for shipping. The voucher is applied to the items in the cart before the shipping costs are added. I could be wrong. Does anyone know for sure?

If anyone is still hunting for the Hardback guide in the UK it is here

careful about ordering from whs, I ordered a book before, which was supposed to be ready in a week or two, only turned out to be out of stock after 1 weeks.

ed,

amazon.com has stock on 28th, it allows you to order.

Is it possible to enter DLC codes from the online with a PSN account rather than needing a PS3? I need to get another PS3 and so I don't have a way to enter a DLC code if I were to get one (for Ni No Kuni).
