I think it's an insult. I haven't played the game, but I would be a fool to pay 60 dollars for the game when I can get it for my PS3 or on Steam for 20. It's complete bullshit, and they should be called out for it.

This is the kind of shit "games journalists" need to be talking about. This should be completely unacceptable.
Completely does this stuff skip over their heads idk..but whateves..
It is literally impossible to please gamers. Hit buyers sure, but damn gamer entitlement is at danger will Robinson levels! That's why all you're getting is hit buyer blockbusters these days kids!

(Males me sad)
hmm...
The Wii U isn't getting any hit blockbusters :p.
...Boom!

John Harker

Definitely doesn't make things up as he goes along.
Well I meant in general, but hey, look at the launch line up... Half the games were ports of hit blockbusters because no publisher thought entitled Nintendo fans would buy anything else. And they didnt buy ANYTHING for spite!

Males me like. :)

:p

Deus Ex may not be "OMG YES!!!" kind of announcement...
But at least would be a nice addition. Hopefully the "extras" are nice.

Plus will give me a chance to play it, as I bought the game but never got a chance to play it on PS3 because of the backlog back then. :p

Many aren't going to buy anything just because it's out. I doubt they'll be taken advantage of like that. I hope they wouldn't. Especially since something like this would just be put on store shelves or if they're smart put on the eShop without any fanfare. There will be no push of any kind behind it to show why people should buy the game. Tossing people scraps isn't what is needed nor will that type of action be appreciated I think. It really shouldn't be. It will be just one more late failed port in the wake of the other systems getting new games. Then Wii U owners will be blamed because they didn't fall for whatever game being played by SE.

Maybe so, but I would play the game if it had remote support. I agree it's a bit of a cash grab, but as long as Square Enix keeps their expectations in check it's not bad for the Wii U's library. Also, if they don't half-ass it, then it may be worth it.

Doubt it's getting announced tomorrow anyway.

Deus Ex + all DLC for $40 would be a tough triple dip for me. Skyrim with some DLC (Dawnguard and Hearthfire at the very least) would be an easy triple dip for me at $60. It probably has to do with Deus Ex Human Revolution being so dirt cheap now.

RE: Why port Deus Ex? Consider this: Straight Right has a new IP in works for the Wii U. They also have to ensure all their staff are busy and employed, and juggle their finances. Pitching a fairly inexpensive port of an old game may have worked nicely into their schedule, assuring staff have something to do and are getting paid for it.

The Wii U isn't getting any hit blockbusters :p.

I have to go look up Straight Right and see what they have been up to

We make games in Melbourne, Australia. Our first effort, Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed was released by EA in August 2011 and is getting a lot of love on the App Store and among reviewers and fans. Having come out swinging, our plan is to make more games for mobile, for other handheld devices, and for the next console generation.

Our first console title was Mass Effect 3 on Wii U with BioWare and EA, which was released in November 2012 as part of the Wii U launch title line-up.

We like it digital and we like it social. Our team knows that game development is a sweet science, and all we really want to do is to connect with our audience.

Australia?

Vook = Australia
EatChildren = Australia

I see a trend here :p

Please don't be Iwata with a weird camera on his back.

It's not getting much of anything really.

I live in Melbourne too!

although it would be a bit of a let-down to get a port of an old game, this particular one I'd probably buy.

I have enjoyed it on PS3, but stopped before I got to Shanghai. I've been meaning to continue, but things always got in the way.

Now if the Wii U version has off-tv play or, even better, pointer controls, then I would enjoy it very much.

Whatever this is, if Nintendo is smart (laughable) then it needs to be a megaton

Amidst all of the Edge rumors today regarding always on/no 2nd hand games for xbox and as a result, likely the ps4, they could REALLY get people excited and in stores making hardware purchases.
Nintendo can't megaton their way out of a paper bag unfortunately.

I'm not sure a port of DoA5 would qualify as "very interesting", at least I hope it wouldn't. (And I'm a fan of the series.)

I agree.. but...

JOURNALISTS!

Plus, it would be a new announcment, honestly for a Gaming site it is interesting.

So all this Deus Ex talk is just because of the information/rumour (can't remember which) that the Mass Effect 3 Wii U devs were porting a Square game to the Wii U yeah? Or have we had anything else to suggest that recently?

Well, If Emily Rogers's source is right then it has to be english company related. I don't recall any connection that she had with japanese companies.

Not necessarily; note that she's only commenting on what it *isn't*, not what it *is*. It's possible she doesn't know what it is, just that it's *not* Deus Ex.

Straight Right's located in Melbourne? Interesting. I'm assuming they're ex employees of a recently closed studio in the area?

Maybe I'll apply for a job over there once I graduate...

I have a hard time believing a Wii U port of a game you can now get for $15 on consoles and regularly see on sale for about $7.50 on PC is what someone finds interesting.

Is the deus ex thing based on any real data or just a joke? Game is amazing but its quite old and has been dropped to 5 bucks on steam a ton of times, given away for free on PS+, etc. Doesn't seem like a project they would pick up and move to the platform,

It's 2-5 AM. No one in the US is even up yet, let alone at work.

I live about 45 mins away from IGN Headquarters and I'm also up now!

Anyways I hope its either a Bayonetta port with off-tv play or some ridiculous 3rd party exclusive.

(Woke up to write a blog post for my English class at my university)
