I'm annoyed at this situation. I hope Nintendo responds with an ambassador list of games for Wii U early adopters. The catch is they won't make the games available until September, I bet. :))) ....

So do folks now think that the game was basically completed for WiiU?

If I was Nintendo. I'd be pretty pissed off now.

I don't know how Ubisoft can justify delaying a game by SEVEN MONTHS a mere couple of weeks before a game was scheduled to release. It's insane.

This is my feeling about it. I don't give a damn that it's coming out on other systems. Hey, more power to 'em, but to delay a game that's coming out in a couple of weeks for this? Screw 'em. I just canceled my pre-order and I'll even do one better by buying the game used when I go to the States in October.

If they delayed this for sales reasons, why would they move it to the fall? It's going to compete with Mario Kart/3D Mario/Yarn Yoshi on the WiiU and the Orbis/Durango launch AND the PS360's fall lineup. It's like they want the game to fail.

When do you ever use "interesting" in a negative context?

"oh god a snake bit me I need medical attention."
"Jesus... That's pretty interesting."

You'd think a man who gets paid to write could whip up a more accurate statement.

And announcements of announcements are the lowest form of games journalism.

To be fair, the disturbing mating habits of mantises is pretty interesting.

A lot of you will blame Ubisoft but I think the blame is Nintendo's. It has not created a compelling business scenario for third parties.

You always can dream:

The interface looks nice, but I imagine it would be the same, smallish world as the XBLA version which really takes away from what I like about Minecraft.

Pretty goddamn often, actually. It's pretty alignment neutral, dude.

I would actually think that, yes. He used the same verbiage to describe Project X Zone, which I think tapered expectations here. Not exactly wise. That being said, this is how you plug bad news/protect sources. If he had said it was bad news, it could possibly tip his hand.

And there are like eighty thousand things I can think of that are lower than that in the realm of games journalism.*

*I am likely exaggerating.

People use "interesting" all the time when they can't think of anything positive to say about a situation.

I'm really pissed off. This was one of the reasons I bought a Wii U a week ago, might as well have waited for a small pricedrop now.

The port is fine, but the delay is utter bullshit. Respect for Ubisoft went down a notch.

yeah right. The problem is not going multiplatform for more sales and better bisiness, the problem is delaying a finished game for 7 months. Also isn't Nintendo publishing Rayman legends in Japan? WTF is going on?

edit:
now I need that 3rd party information Nintendo, please. What a letdown the delay

I think posters in this very thread were chiding him yesterday for using the phrase "interesting" again after the Project X reveal, jokingly telling him to get new material.

I am seriously fucking bummed. My girlfriend and I played the demo at Gamestop yesterday, and she was psyched about the Murphy parts. My school workload wasn't as big as last semester, so I definitely would've had time to play it. Who knows in September?

Fucking Ubisoft.

Shame for Wii U owned who wanted this given the barren Wii U landscape. I'm guessing it's due to low Wii U sales and the need to maximise profits which is fair enough.

Bit of a shame as it *might* have generated some hardware sales but you'd have to be a bit silly to think it wasn't going to go to other platforms.

You know, maybe Nintendo withdrew their monetary support and said "Hey, can we have Watch Dogs instead?'

And lay off Rich. This is interesting when viewed against the Wii U landscape.

I suspect it *wasn't*, and this is Ubisoft spinning that fact. I've worked on games where we've negotiated extra features in exchange for the publisher permitting and funding a delay.

Nobody has interest in bad news, but when it comes out it is definitely newsworthy, and absolutely worth being plugged.

Just because the news doesn't fit your interests, it doesn't fit mine? I have no dog in this fight. But it's still very intriguing to see a publisher to console maker relationship basically falter before one's eyes.

No one questioned that was newsworthy, but is not interesting at all!!! He deserves all the backlash for hyping it.

You know maybe you would've,but i'm not going to respond to you anymore, you are clearly trolling and i feel into the trap.

I'm not trolling. I'm a pissed off WiiU owner who it left playing a demo that has try limits which is going to expire months before the game finally gets released.

If stupid Nintendo hadn't put the try restrictions in. At least the demo would keep the game relevant for me.

You know what. I'm boycotting this game. It's a dick move by Ubi and I'm not supporting them by buying this game when it comes out.

September is a pretty bad month to release this game, I'm fairly certain they would've had more success with the WiiU version in February than September.

Then again, Ubisoft probably doesn't really care about the performance of that version that much. It's clear that Sony and MS consoles have priority.

If you're one of the top sellers in September, you're making more money than in almost any other month. If you're one of the also-rans... gg.

gg Rayman Legends. :(

Scene: A doctor's office. A patient sits on an examining table. The doctor holds a chart.

Patient: Well, any news, doc?
Doctor: [Flipping through the chart] Well, this is very interesting.
Patient: What's that?
Doctor: Cancer. You have cancer. Verrry interesting.

I blame Nintendo for failing to create a platform on which a third party exclusive can meet success.

I don't think anyone but Ubisoft can be blamed for deceiving us with a Feb 26 release date. I can understand a delay, but it's not like they were three weeks from release and suddenly decided, "Welp, looks like we need another seven months, guys!"

It was "interesting", but total crap. What the hell did he expect to happen? He should have simply kept his mouth shut and let things go where they may. What gets me is that as soon as he put up that Ubisoft article, he puts up another doom and gloom article. It's just not cool at all.

He has a point, but that doesn't excuse him teasing Wii U owners with "interesting news". That was just a dick move.

Yes. I was a rather cruel move to budding WiiU owners. I'll not be reading any of his tweets again.
