Rog: SCR
Chris G: NEC
Yipes: Yomacon if you count that as a major otherwise Summer Slam
Champ: Revelations
Justin: Kuwaiti tournament if you count that as a major before that would be CEO

Depends upon how you count majors but this is the most accurate list.

Rog can beat anyone with his Wolvie/Doom/Vergil

Chris G can beat anyone with his Morrigan/Doom/Vergil

Champ can beat anyone with his Magneto/Dorm/Doom

Yipes can beat anyone with his real shit. I forget what his Dante/Vergil team was cause he never fucking uses it. Nova on point? Magneto anchor? I forget. His team Nemo is godlike too.

Justin is easily the worst of the 5 at this point. He makes that Wolvie/Storm/Akuma team work... but he should probably throw Vergil in the back lol

Champ and Yipes need to pick their real shit. They fuck around and lose too much. Rog and Chris don't, which is why they're winning all the majors.

Youmacon had 4 of the 5 "gods" that are on the list, so it should be counted as legit.

Now Justin's wins...

Yipes basically has 3-4 teams he rotates. He has the Brotherhood of Sparda (Dante/Vergil/Magneto) which is basically good against everything except Wolverine teams because Wolverine wrecks the Sparda twins. His Nemo team is better against Wolverine. His Spencer/Vergil/Hawkeye team is also good for wrecking a Dormammu team particularly FChamp's team. Then of course his Wesker team which in the current meta is sort of not up to snuff, you need Strider and Vergil with Wesker for him to compete at the highest level.

FChamp basically just needs 3 teams. His Hawkeye team, his main Dorm team and something to deal with Vergil teams. I feel like he can beat any zoning team with his Hawkeye/Dorm/Doom team and can beat most teams with his Mag/Dorm/Doom team but all those teams lose to Vergil so he needs a counter pick team. Too many players in the god 5 using Vergil.

PRRog and ChrisG are using close to end game teams they have no reason to switch. You can't counter pick their teams. Justin Wong needs a top tier that isn't Wolverine on his team. He would honestly be as good as everyone on the god 5 if he used PRRog's team.

Yipes should use Sparda Brothers/Strider instead of magnus.

I suspect ChrisG needs to counterpick Rog/good Wolverines by going back to Akuma.
He doesn't need to do anything except get better with his Vergil. Akuma is not a bad counter pick to the match up especially against the beam assist but he needs a more solid defensive character against Wolverine.

And no Magneto is not the answer. ChrisG's Magneto is no where near the level where it needs to be to beat PRRog's Wolverine + Beam assist.

Another major problem on PRRog's team is the Dark Vergil. Even if Wolverine dies, PRRog is just going to let Doom be the meat shield and bring in Vergil for the derp anchor win. Chris has barely any incoming mix ups with his characters or snap set ups, it's completely a defensive team and you can't afford to be defensive against a Vergil anchor. You need to snap him in as soon as Doom dies and ChrisG doesn't do that. If he is serious about counter picking the team he would formulate a very different team designed to snap in Vergil easy.

I disagree.
Justin's team is perfect now. With the Storm inf it has covered up it's only weakness which was Storms meter building potential.

Also, I think Yipes best team is still his Sparabrothers plus Beam. It can actually deal with Wolve fine. If anything one of the hardest match ups for team Nemo is Wolve. Who fucks nova's shit up real bad. I can't recall any high level Wolve players in NYC though.

FChamp's Evo team is still godlike. He deals with PR Rog fine. He just been fucking around with other teams too much.

Storm doesn't do the infinite by herself though. When Wolverine dies the team runs into the same problem in that Storm is unable to place hit boxes on the screen as well as the top tier or dish out the same amount of damage. The utility of Storm on that team is mostly as a versatile support in that she is there for the powerful DHC, THC and the TAC infinite to save up a bunch of meter against powerful characters later on. Having 2 supports on a team is too much IMO, you really need a 2nd point heavy character on your team.

If anything it's the opposite. Even Yipes says that he wants to keep this team just for Wolverine. Shield + Beam + Javeline completely zones out Wolverine, he can't get in and Nova can leverage the on screen projectiles to start his own offense. Refer to Yipes win at Yomacon against PRRog, that's how you are supposed to play the match up. The shield even negates Doom's beam assist. Nova also is very good at snapping in Vergil and then make him guess on incoming with meat set ups plus his most valuable asset against Vergil is his slide which he can capitalize off of Vergil's whiffed moves (especially the feared Helm Breaker).

Some info about Final Round XVI and more tid bits about "The Fall Classic"(aka TFC)

Larry ShinBlanka said:
So as of right now we have players from Singapore, Israel, UK, Korea, Dubai (UAE), Saudia Arabia, Mexico, Japan, Canada, Brazil, and Chile planning to attend FR16 on their own efforts. This is shaping up to be one of the most international events in the world as the GLOBAL SATURATION of FINAL ROUND continues! With the great players coming internationally and the great players from The United States of America the FR16 hype is like the T-virus and it's spreading around the world at an alarming rate! Also be advised that EVERY OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT winner at FR16 will receive free badge and entry of the game they won for the new tournament series started by Myself, BigE, SweetJohnnyCage, and LI Joe called "THE FALL CLASSIC"! More news on this exciting new tournaments series is coming soon as we'll be announcing ranbat qualifiers coming to an area near you. Our efforts are to build a stronger EC scene and we have a plan to do so with the ec community help. We believe that the strength of any tournament is only as strong as it's scene/region it caters towards. Separately we have help grow our regions (The NE and the SE) with our own events, but for the past year we have asked ourselves "What would happen if we worked together on an event that could bring the east coast closer as a scene?" That answer = T.F.C. Stay tuned for more details in the up coming weeks! Watch the team spooky stream at WB7 for the more info

I figured they're still not ready to announce certain things or haven't decided on it yet so I didn't want to try and ask Larry any questions they're not ready to answer. But I'm still crossing my fingers for NC as the location for this event.

I disagree.
Reason I think it's perfect is for Justin. I've seen him try and use other characters but he always looks out of place with them. Apart from Spencer who he seemed to gel with well.

I don't see him just picking up PR Rog's team. Even though he could go with Wolve Doom Akuma he'd have to put in the work for it..but he seems like the type of player now that plays what he enjoys. Which is fair enough.

As for Team Nemo. PR Rog said himself at the time he did not understand how to deal with the team but now he does. He simply can't give Nova any breathing room. I'd actually love to see Rog and Yipes run a FT10 with those teams because it would be a great indicator into how that team stacks up now. If Yipes can indeed counter it with Team Nemo it goes to show in meta game Team Nemo is maybe one of the top 3 teams in this game currently.

Even though people hate on it the meta keeps evolving for UMVC3 which is great to see.

My own tier list of players that matter. This is excluding Flocker who we haven't seen in a long time.

J Wong is not an idiot, he has his own pride and arrogance that he doesn't show often. He stuck to Wolvie/Storm/Akuma because he thinks that the Storm infinite makes the team a lot more viable, but once he gets sick and tired of dropping combos on shitty laggy PS3 setups he's going to give up on the team.

I can't believe this but I'm agreeing with you for most of that list. Only thing is I put Shady K in a special tier and I call that the casual/money match tier where it's just him, worst tournament player in the history of tournaments.

I would also throw Bee into that 3rd tier. Moonz would be bottom 2nd or top 3rd. I would move Apologyman down one tier.

Nah he split mags and zero up and runs.

Mags Doom Vergil

or

Zero Doom Vergil

So he runs team Shady K 1A, and team Zero theory?

Damn I like him even more now....

Fucking Shady making everyone play Doom 2nd, and Vergil 3rd for that derpy shit now. I'm calling it now, but Chris G is going to drop Morrigan/Vergil/Doom for Morrigan/Doom/Vergil.

FREE!

ShadyK I feel has plateaued for a long time, back at the time of EVO he would have been up there but nowadays he's about the same tier as CJShowstopper. The last time I saw the two of them play it was pretty even.

Bee belongs to the same tier as ShadyK for doing much better in long sets than tourneys, but yeah maybe he's good enough to be in the 3rd tier. Moonz no, he's about the same tier as the likes of Flux. Maybe Marn should have a shout for 3rd tier but I doubt he cares enough for the game to do much beyond dominating The Runback.

Shady went undefeated in money match at SCR with Marlin Pie and a lot of other people in the mix.

Moonz at least can get much closer to beating Chris G than Jorsa, Rayray, and Flux (and has down before). He just has weird lapse of judgement like Richard N, but his potential is through the roof. I don't think guys like Flux getting any better... so I definitely put Moonz way over Flux.
