Rarest Game You Own?

How is that Flintstones game by the way? I've been on the lookout for it at a good price for years, but I've only really looked briefly at a youtube video of it once. It seemed pretty decent, but then again it's a licensed game.

It's not that bad, it's an OK platformer. Can't complain, though. $3 at Game Crazy in 2006 is the best deal my mom has ever scored for me.

So I'm interested in seeing what the rarest game anyone owns is, and thought this could be a fun thread. It'll be more interesting with pics you take yourself of course, so here's my contribution:

It's Jack Bros for the Virtual Boy. Recently picked it up for a pretty good price. I was mostly interested in this little title because, despite being a spin-off, it was the first game in the Shin Megami Tensei series to get localized here.

Let's see what you guys got.

How are we defining rare? Final Fantasy games are not rare at all.

I have no idea what I own is rare, except I got offered a good amount for my sealed Breath of Fire 3 for PS1 though I have no idea if its rare or just a sought after collectors piece.

Not sure...
Gunlord-DC
Capcom VS SNK-ps2
Total Annihilation+Expansions-PC
Final Fantasy IV-SuFami(Only rare because I'm in the US)

I think those are about the most rare I have.

I don't have really any rare games.

Final Fantasy VI Advance complete with nice box and contents is slightly expensive.
Twin Snakes...eh.

Sealed Wrath of the Lich King CE.
Bioshock LE with sealed Big Daddy figure maybe.
I regrettably sold Steel Battalion awhile back.
Looking at prices, WotLK is going for over $150 with bids on ebay. Got it on clearance at Circuit City a few years ago. So I guess that's my highest value right there.

Are the bolded really considered rare and/or expensive?
I have all three in perfect condition.
FF6A was just sitting there on a shelf for 15€ back then, which I instantly grabbed.

When I posted here earlier I forgot about Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones for GBA. When I was searching for it, it was going for $90 on amazon. Now it's hovering around $70.

A sealed copy of the original The Legend of Zelda.

(When my sealed/mint copy of A Link to the Past arrives in the mail later this week, I will own a sealed/mint copy of every console game in the series.)

Not sure how rare it is but, I own this GameCube Demo Disk that I believe was only meant for store kiosks. My good friend's dad used to own a game store, so the year I got a GameCube for Christmas it came with a couple games, including that one.

Don't really know what's rare. I have a bunch of PS1 jrpg's. The Lunar games, Xenogears, the Suikoden's, a few others. Secret of Mana and Secret of Evermore. Some PS2 jrpg's too. A lot of fighting games....Project Justice, Capcom vs SNK, MVC2 (DC and Xbox). I'll try to post pictures later.

I've sold off pretty much anything that can be considered rare. I'd say the rarest or maybe the most obscure thing I owned was Pokemon Box.

Sad state of affairs that I've had to pretty much dismantle my collection but I needed money over the past couple years.

I have all the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 DLC that got removed from both PSN and XBL.

Why was that DLC removed?

And if we count DLC stuff too: I own Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3, as well as R-Type for TG16 on Virtual Console, and Zelda Four Swords Anniversary Edition on my 3DS, all of which aren't available for regular download anymore.

Licensing issues.

Radiant Silvergun, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Princess Crown, Chrono Trigger beta, Dragon Force.

All the usual good stuff collectors prize. Nothing too fancy.

Okay, I think these are somewhat rare. At least in terms of finding them outside of Yahoo Japan:

Dark Messiah - PS1 JP (Hellnight in Europe). For quite a while I couldn't find any copies of this game. Horror game from ATLUS that is legitimately pretty scary, even with poor graphics.

Lack of Love - DC JP. Possibly the rarest game I own? I got stuck pretty early on and haven't gone back to it. Someday.

Special collector's edition bundle of the three Sora no Kiseki games for PSP, with postcards. This might not be so rare, I'm not sure.

I have other games that might be harder to find these days although there may have been reprints like Fatal Frame III, Xenosaga Ep. III, Disgaea 2, Radiant Historia ... possibly more.

I find myself constantly worrying about what to do with it. It's nice to know I have one rare game to my name, but is that feeling really worth the money that's just sitting there? What if all of a sudden the market drops out for it?

I also own Rez for the PS2 which used to be sold for 80 bucks on ebay, but now its only 45 thanks to the XBLA port.

I would think that Magic Knight Rayearth has a better chance of keeping it's value compared to many other games. It was the last North American Saturn release and there is a super small chance that it will be rereleased.

Trust no one. Eat steaks.
I recently scored a MIB Game & Watch Climber, Widescreen version. After checking Ebay it seems the Crystal Screen is quite common, boxed or loose, but the Widescreen one is not.

-Tales of Symphonia for GC(italian version,bought it for 120 euros T_T )
-King's Field 4

-Gta 4 special edition
-Xenoblade chronicles LE
-The last story LE
-Pandora's Tower LE
-Metroid prime triology
-Ni no kuni Wizard's Edition (Eu)

I'm trying to get into collecting SNES games, so I currently own Super Probotector and Chrono Trigger. I'm based in England, so it's not always possible to get the games I want.

I don't really have any games that are really that rare, but I guess my rarest would be the Metroid Prime Trilogy or Xenoblade Chronicles.

I also had the Gamecube version of Ikaruga, but I gave it to my brother after I got the XBLA version (and the used prices on Amazon dropped). I could get it back if I wanted, I'm sure, but I don't really see the point.

A few gold Zeldas, Lunar games (CEs), hell is Omikron rare? Never got it to work when I first bought it, but not sure if I should even try it. Was a random pickup.

Edit:

I've got lots of old PC CD-ROM games that are probably hard to come by today. Ever played Bioforge?

Bioforge_damage_screenshot.gif

I have the box in my closet for that. Big ole' black and green thing.

Magic Knight Rayearth is worth a lot?

I guess getting both that game and Panzer Dragoon Saga for $75 was a pretty good deal after all...

Probably the PS2 version of Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier.

I mean it was a PS2 game released in 2009, I doubt it got a very large production run.

I have a copy of persona 2 eternal punishment for ps1. It's going for about 100 bucks on eBay. And for sealed its around 200-250 bucks.

I got it for like 15 bucks at some store NEW
Wish I kept it sealed...

The GameCenter CX episode on the SFC game was awesome! I didn't know it has sequels on ports on ps1, psp and DS!

For my part I don't think I have extremely rare stuff, but I have some Zelda goodies: CD-i games, boxed Game&Watch, japanese Club Nintendo "Best Collection" aka the Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask/Zelda 1/TAoL gamecube disc (all main regions versions in fact).
Elektroplankton, japanese and european... wait, do I have it in PAL? I'm not sure!
Oh and the Tingles games, including several copies of the PAL version!

Punch-Out!! gold prize cart. Pretty rare-ish!
They are selling it at a store I go sometimes when I can: http://www.retrogame-shop.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=10534

Question:
In our world where geeks are slowly taking the power, can it be some sort of financial investment to buy rare gaming related stuff?
For example, can it worth it to buy this Seaman Dreamcast limited to 999 units for 1000€ today and hoping it will be resellable at more than 2K€ in a few years?

For the record he was asking about the Panzer Dragoon Orta themed Xbox console, not just the game. Pretty sure they were only for Japan, no idea what the run quantity was.

orta_box.jpg

And my rarest item is probably Panzer Dragoon Saga, 1st pressing. Bought it at release, completely clueless of its rarity at the time.

I think 1000-1200 made and as you said only in Japan sold by Sega Direct (you can't purchase in a physical shop).

I own one myself sealed. It comes with the pendant, game and composite AV cable.
