You can download the 1.1 GB trailer here -> http://presscenter.playstation.com

Events -> Playstation Meeting 2013 -> Software -> Killzone

Click the arrow icon and it should download. But it's only the trailer, not the gameplay vid (there is also a ~900MB trailer for Infamous). VLC had some problems with those files for me, Quicktime player did work.

This gameplay video has imo acceptable quality at 1080p.

0_o Wow! Thank you.

Looks beautiful but I thought new gen would finally mean 1080p and 60fps for this kind of stuff?

That said if the game runs a SOLID 30fps no slowdown I guess I'd be happy!

This shot doesn't impress me as much as it should because you know you can't travel down in the city like an open world game. Sure looks nice though.

I'm also very glad consoles can finally do 1080p now. Going from PC to a PS3 game, the difference is so significant I think most console gamers don't realize the impact 1080p will have on image quality.

Guerrilla Games DOes wonders with their first gen PS4 title (come on dudes, don't forget it's a launch title!!! o__________O' ......) ......

I can't imagine what Sony Santa Monica will do with second gen title!

Have to say that I was a little disappointed by the gameplay itself. It all seemed pretty similar to the stuff we already have.

Hope that the actual game opens up a little more.

Graphics are beyond amazing though.

I just hope there's more recoil for guns that aren't the railgun and that the sense of momentum from 2 comes back. I'm fine with movement being faster but the momentum felt great and worked really well with a controller. I hope there's a lot of opportunities to climb and flank like in the demo. It would at least give some more options in combat.

Great info. Really glad to hear costs aren't going up much.

I'm not suprised. They aren't really doing much differently, just now they don't have to down-rez textures, and have 8 LOD for a building. They don't have to make a high-poly model and trim it down, or presumably compress sound as much as they did.

I'd like that. I mean it's obvious that certain level restrictions will never disappear, after all do they need to guide the player in some way, but to allow the player to approach the fights from a lot more angles would be great.

I wonder what they can do with the city. I'd imagine sniping enemies that are several kilometers away on some other skyscraper would be cool

Killzone 2 had 'mini sandboxes' in some levels.

Hopefully they will go with this approach, where you had multiple ways to approach a level.

The 1080p video proves its realtime-ness with some easily visible aliasing and texture flickering. But it still features better assets and effects than PS3 titles, with much better IQ thanks to 1080p as well.

Looks beautiful...

liked the vertical movement up the side of the building.
throwing knife
updated hit detection, for when you are getting hit by enemy fire
multi function weapon
lovely and conforting sniper sound effect
scale
graphics - trying to downplay this is kinda sad to observe

NO CHIRP?

...

Also, seeing this scale makes me dream of a proper Warhawk. Just remake/expand the maps and add new ones, fix normal flight glitch, and 60fps. Done. Profit.

I kind of hope some of the stealth and loadout customization from Mercenary makes it into Shadow Fall. That stuff looks awesome.

I was convinced straight away; it doesn't look like it is above what I expected from the PS3 hardware. Now Capcom's game I am very suspicious of.

I haven't followed the thread closely, but I truly hope that the 30 fps/1080p isn't actually a dealbreaker for people.

Well they better get used to it because 60 fps games will be in the minority again this gen.

My friend swears up and down that they were put in there by Guerrilla to offset suspicion that it was a target render. But he thinks every single announcement last night was garbage and that Microsoft will surpass these benchmarks with ease, so I don't know why I listen to him.

Hmmm, I don't know, it looked great to me on the feed, but checking out the higher quality videos, there's a really aggressive LOD going on on the ground segments. The flying over the city segments look like a huge leap from ps3, but they're also a huge leap from the ground segments.

Might have to see some more great looking footage that couldn't easily be done by fading to cutscene (like God of War 3 zoom outs).

Anyone else likes the GUN? Looks like it uses railgun principle (accelerates metal shells by passing them between the rows of magnets or something like that), but in an automatic form. Also, transformation looks great and shooting noise is awesome.

What in the blue hell am I reading?

This is Alpha at best yet folks are judging the shit out of it. "Same old, same old", "boring", "PS3.5 amirite"...

It's Alpha. It's not in FPQA Beta at SCEE yet.

Alpha. Get it?

Umm, wow...

WTF at those buildings and such down at the bottom, they look... quite bad, understandably, but I would've expected more from PS4 from what I thought before, that looks pretty jarring.

you wot m8?

some of yiu guys are really jaded, no offence.

you are going to find minor flaws in every game. But to say it looks bad? as a whole it demolishes everything out there.

It's so amazing in terms of art style. I love futuristic cities so...yeah.

Agreed, glad they are showing this side of the story. In general, I am glad that we have a new setting and characters, and that the story seems more involved with the HGH.

I was not overly excited about the core gameplay shown though. Not exciting, nor gritty like K2, and they had those cheesy "slowmo" sessions. I really hope guns have better recoil and that the AI responds much more aggressively.

Annoyed with the hitmarkers and that weird circle reticule too. I want to be completely into the immersive world, like K2 was.

Do you guys think that this is just due to it being a very early build? The guy playing didn't help, either.

I just want Killzone to be Killzone: Gritty, visceral, in your face, and difficult. I am assuming it's just the build, but Killzone 2 really set the bar and drove that feeling home, which I dont see here.

Basically, I am worried if GG is going to continue going the K3 route, or if they have learned from the backlash they got. I want this deliver so bad, because it's my last straw with the franchise. I loved K2, but there was so much room for improvement that they blew with KZ3.

It looks mind bogglingly good.

They had better fix the embarrasing input lag this time though... 150 ms in killzone 2 was a new low in gaming, in a league of it's own of badness.
30 fps for the next game means input lag 'll be shitty to begin with so they'd better work on their engine.
Maybe they should ask carmack for some help ... that man is a god at this kind of optimisation, guerilla have good artists but on the technical side the input lag suggests they have no frigging clue about how to design an engine fit for actual interactive gaming and not just cutscenes.
