Maybe nintendo really should consider downsizing in europe and north america at this point and make wiiu a japan only affair

Tomb Raider has the luck of being released at the start of March and good word of mouth going around. It should probably be in the Top 5 next month.
Could make a run for #1... although that will still likely go to Gears of War: Judgment.
Top 3 should be those two titles and Bioshock Infinite in some order.

80k would be lower than the PS3's worst month ever in the US and that was during its first summer when we were dealing with "PS3 has no games". Oh, and it was $599!
Well if you look at it that way, im simply assuming that when it actually has games it would be way better.

I dont want to argue with my packer fan brother. :(

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
In a separate statement, Nintendo reported that 455,000 units of hardware were sold in the U.S. in February, pushing 3DS past 8 million units to date. 180,000 copies of Fire Emblem Awakening were sold in the U.S. in February (117,000 at retail and 63,000 digitally). Nintendo added that "by comparison, the previous hand-held entrant in the franchise – Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon – has sold a little more than 250,000 units life to date in the United States

For having literally no games for two months? I'd say it's decent for what it is.

Having no games never stopped people from mentioning the Vita's terrible sales (rightfully so) and it's not an excuse here. There's absolutely no way to spin 64k as anything other than garbage.

Defending that #1 spot like a champ.

Wow, A:CM in the Top Ten. Totally undeserving.

Happy to see that Sly made it into the Top 10, though it could be that the numbers are bad.

Wii U (and Vita of course) are as dead as predicted/expected. Question is whether this is because customers don't see any value in the Wii U or whether the console market is shrinking (though of course 360 and PS3 are still alive even with their successors announced, so hopefully it is just Wii U related).

Wow, I'm surprised that many people buy games digitally. I'm not one of them.

117k for Fire Emblem at retail? Sly 4 did a lot better than I thought, then.

Wow, eShop sales are half of retail. That is damn impressive. I wonder if those digital numbers would push FE Awakening into the top 10.

SLY COOPER NOT A [COMPLETE] BOMBA

edit: DID BETTER THAN PS-ALLSTARS BATTLE ROYALE FIRST MONTH TOO

I want those goddamn rising numbers.

It was an still is doing way better than DmC on amazon so I will be pretty surprised if it didn't outsell it pretty resoundingly at retail.

still 5) isn't exactly filling me with faith....

Genre fatigue? Or is everyone saving up for god of war because DmC also debuted at number 5 along with Metal Gear Rising.
Yeah I'm really starting to wonder. While MGR seems to have done better than DmC, it doesn't look to be by a landslide either.

I can't wait for those God of War numbers.

180K is great for Fire Emblem in the US (especially considering how hard it still is to find the game)

That is tracking ahead of the other recent releases in the series (if I remember right)

Great numbers for Fire Emblem especially given the availability problems. Hey Nintendo, see what happens when you advertise the offbeat games you occasionally localize?

Fuck yes, great numbers for Fire Emblem.

Also that 33% digital ratio.

Death at Shadow Dragon selling 250k LTD.

Glad to see Awakening selling well, I'm in the 63k crowd.

I had no idea a new Brain Training even came out.

Download the demo. If it seems like it'd be worth your time (it's substantially more trying than the previous two games, but that's by design to focus on improving a different function of your brain), download the game for $30 (unless you want to be able to share the game with others without sharing your 3DS). It's so worth it, to me.

MS has to be happy as hell with how they've done with the 360. Probably why they are in no rush to announce a new console.

In US, yeah. Kind of boggling to think, 8 years notwithstanding, they've sold nearly 40 million 360 in the US.

What was PS2's NPD lifetime? Anybody know?

Good 360 and (likely) PS3 numbers. MS will easily come out #1 in the US all said and done.

Wii U is dead as a console. It'll be forgotten as we get into the new console launch season.

Vita is dead as a handheld. It'll be forgotten as we get into the new mobile launch season.

Lol at that digital ratio. More expensive digital games from Nintendo.

for handhelds it is the way to go. no cart switching.

I agree, which is a big reason I had an r4 for my ds, but I refuse to be there downloading games on 3ds when not EVERY retail title is also available for download. It would be weird (to me) to have a library of half carts/half downloads :/ Maybe for the next handheld...
