most aren't. they just can't get their money back. what would you like them to do now?
Do some research before blindly buying something next time. They don't get a completely free pass here.

oh so its more of a EA sim then?
i havent played but it seems to be the closest available...at least thats the impression i got.
seems sim4 still holds the crown

The comparison is only skin deep though. Tropico 4 (and series in general barring 2) is more focused on simulating you as a corrupt Banana Republic president than anything of being a SimCity game.
Holly shit just watched the trailer... Simcity... you can go die NOW.
lol incredible. People complain as they give in their credit cards.
Great, and now that you finally have the server issues resolved... fix the damn game machanics!
To the group of people who always complain about DRM and act so self-entitled: guess what, you are just the small vocal minority. For a big publisher like EA they won't care if you don't buy their games. They may have lost you as a customer, but they will always find their audience somewhere else.
It is actually playable now, yes. There are still significant design/simulation issues though. Is the game fine now? I kinda wanna try it now lol
The vast majority of gamers never visit websites like GAF. They were most likely unaware of the game's problems.
This is a bad argument. I'd go back through the SimCity threads on GAF and take a look-even when GAFfers knew of the games problems, they still bought it. Justifications went from stuff like "But it's an MMO!" to "They'll solve the problems soon, so I'll just buy it now and wait for that." to "Goddamnit GAF, I'm weak and I bought the game "The vast majority of gamers never visit websites like GAF. Well, until they got hit by those problems, kind of hard to sleepwalk through not being able to play the game.
Target is having a B2G1 free deal. Hmmm should I...
Way to go gamers.....you just approved DRM.

Well, thank you for telling me what I have a right to say or not.The only ones that have a right to complain is those who played and bought it. Or couldn't play it because of issues.

Sure, there are some people who probably are not aware of the scope of the problems but there are plenty who see the negative feedback and buy the game anyway just because it's the new SimCity. Maybe they liked the franchise and bought it hoping for a new, 3D spin on the old games or they simply bought into the hype and dismissed the negative feedback coming out of the early adopters but they still bought it.
When EA comes back with another half-finished product, the blame is squarely on the consumers and there are plenty on GAF who are part of that group.
I'm not so sure this was the moment where DRM was "approved".
Some of the replies in this thread are cringe worthy.
But they intended for the game to work that way! It's what the developers wanted it to be!Great, and now that you finally have the server issues resolved... fix the damn game machanics!
Well, thank you for telling me what I have a right to say or not.
Besides, your argument is absurd. You essentially say no one should complain about the success of a very peculiar business model if they haven't financially endorsed it beforehand.

It's truly sad how much of this they're getting away with.

They intended for firetrucks to go around in circles?
People vote with their wallets when it comes to games. Just pointing that out. It sucks there is so much support for the new SimCity if DRM is such a huge factor.
