Some gaffers will never stop believing at random chinese forum rumors.... Sigh.
Because someone asked to create a topic and I did.
What's terrible is the difference between Durango topics and PS4 topics.
Durango topics are usually filled with venom and snide remarks, even sometimes to the OP. While PS4 topics are usually civil, like the one that just went up recently. This type of behavior has to stop.

I can not find that article but the point was that 360 is just like Dreamcast and its doomed to fail just like it because they had the same logo and Peter Moore

Out of interest, assuming the original APU was 1.2TF as rumoured, the difference between the single APU Durango Vs PS4, and the dual APU Durango Vs the PS4 would be about the same (0.6TF), but this time in Durangos favour. Actually a slightly smaller percentage increase.

Yeah, I remember reading this article the same day it got published.
I have never been a forum poster or reader before PS360. But I have been now since then and there is alot of things I have learned, One of them is that there is alot of stupidity, Lies and false predictions.
The most important thing is that am a gamer, I pay to play to enjoy. I don't Pay to own some kind of stocks. It is not my corporation, But unfortunately alot of gamers have forgotten that and became more or less warriors in a console war.

I'm not sure if there is an undercurrent of bias in PS4 v Durango threads but if there is it might be because so much is unknown about the latter (or at least only rumoured at this stage). Of course without anything official on the table it's only natural that noise fills the void. And noise provokes strong reactions.
Still, I always hope people can at least be civil.

As has been said in this thread before the forum rumor apparently mentioned the striped controller before Kotaku which, in my opinion, made this a topic worth talking about and not just your average forum rumor.
There were more civil talks even in the early Orbis threads. It's getting closer to E3 so some are getting more emotionally invested. The behavior is interesting, but it happens every gen unfortunately.
Someone gets it.
Maybe Kotaku got his info on the striped controller also on April 1st?
edit: Imho it's not an Aprils Fools joke but one must consider it.

Either way, if we believed the Kotaku story then it would seem crazy to completely dismiss this rumor too. Of course now that the rumor creator seems to be messing with us we can probably dismiss it now.

What's happening currently is exactly a re-run of articles just like that one. You do notice fairly obvious differences between threads relating to the next Xbox and ones relating to the PS4, but then I think it's mostly just that the Xbox brand has simply never had as many fans as the Playstation brand. No matter how well Xbox does, it will always be the underdog when a new Playstation console is launching.
Personally, I found that it's best to just ignore it. Real gamers won't wish for the failure of any console. I'm getting a PS4, the next Xbox, AND a Wii-U because there's just some games I can't miss, and I'm not fortunate enough to have every game that I want conveniently be on the exact same platform.
This shit had to stop.
You can't have a thread about Sony without "Vita is doomed" and "Sony is gonna become bankrupt soon lol" but Gaf is pro-sony now?

PS : I do believe that there's too many Vita is doomed thread but that's not the subject and that's only my opinion.

Agree with ya bro. I owend Both of them but my main was 360. Its just so hilarious to read those articles now and then. Whether someone likes it ot not. XBOX is here to stay.
I had this same discussion with my friend who is a PS fan in 2007. I told him that XBOX is gonna lock USA down , lose in japan And splitt EU with PS3 and will live as long as PS3.

They actually made the controller fatter. The stripes are meant to give the illusion that it's thinner. Fat people do it all the time.
Oh jeez, not this again. Someone give me a reason why two APUs is somehow a more feasible solution than just using a more powerful CPU and GPU. Microsoft's engineers aren't THAT insane. It's inefficient, expensive, and makes development more complicated.
It's an utterly ridiculous rumor, and it would have shown up in the leaked XDK documentation if it were true. The only possibility I see here is a second APU with 360 hardware for BC. It would be awesome if that were the case but even that is a pretty big stretch.

Anyone who actually thinks a rumor like this is likely or true needs a good slap upside the head.Well if that is true, and remember perception is key, that's a shame. I wouldn't suggest conformity - folks' voices being drowned out by the majority - but maybe rise above it. I know that's easy for me to say; I'm not being jabbed at from across forums.
And even though I don't post that often I try to remember that the mods are here for a reason.
A small and very personal thing... with all the annoying shitstorms we've had with "insiders" when you say in absolute terms "MS is reading this thread" then caveat later with "why wouldn't they be" it almost makes your earlier post redundant!
And on a tangent...
The amount of "I've heard" posts I see make it sound like lots of folk have contacts in the industry. I'm sure that's very true of a lot of people but without reporting chains (i.e. how the information reached someone) and multiple sources (i.e. validating reporting) it's difficult to assess information.

The MS is reading these rumors threads comment might hold credence since it's getting really close to E3. Expectations are really high in MS's camp, and the worst thing for them is for all of their best bits to leak out. Hence the striped controllers and extra precaution.
And since the Forza 4 leak was around the same time frame, them acting quickly and deleting it also makes sense.
Not only that, we've had actual MS employees post in these topics before!

It is absolutely here to stay, but nothing will ever stop some people from believing that the Xbox brand is just a minor step away from becoming obsolete. I never thought I would see the day, but most people genuinely now see Xbox and Playstation as equal games platforms. I think this ultimately benefits gamers as a whole in the end. Can you imagine if the PS3 had the kind of success that Sony was expecting it to have, following the PS2's success? You can almost say with certainty Sony would've never wised up and put their best foot forward like they appear to be doing right now with the PS4.
I've read some pretty far out things in Orbis threads.
It was cool ideas just to keep the threads going when Sony at the time gave no real concrete info.

Dammit, I can't wait to see what they've got cooking. PS4 is a day one for me. And, as I've said before, if MS can double my hype/expectation they have my money day one too. To be honest I'm a sucker for new things so if they have a handful of games (why wouldn't they?) I'll be there.
I think it's difficult in this situation to not think of the Durango as how will it counter the PS4 rather than what path will it forge for itself. That's probably because Sony have shown their hand first.

Pre-conference they weren't. Post conference they sort of are, but there's still a lot of what-ifs and maybes. Microsoft hasn't announced yet, so Microsoft fans are playing the wishful thinking game. It's normal. Sony fans did it too. The problem Reiko has are the Sony fans that play the wishful thinking game in his Xbox threads. Odd that they tell Reiko to drop his silly dreams about dual processors, yet they cling firmly to equally dumb dreams that Microsoft will block all used games or force you to always play your single player games online. Both sets of rumors are equally improbable when you truly think about them, but it's telling who believes what while dismissing the other.
