The episode definitely lived up to my expectations for it and easily manages to have been as awesome and fun as I expected. The plot is heavy on the terminology and acronyms but I figure over time Ill have them all understood. The Godinion and its various features, the characters in the CIC, especially the one operator-kun (with good English) the two commanders, and the members of Team Rabbits made for a really fun and interesting time. Hitachi and his desire to be a hero puts him as my favorite as thats something I can get behind and him taking on that attitude when it matters most was both shocking and interesting in mech battle (best mech, want). Gunner Suruga is my favorite design and all around nice, do like his sniper abilities,

Anyway was way fun and intriguing and hope they do continue to improve their abilities both individually and as a team. Music, especially the song playing when they were being briefed on the mission, was really nice and makes me wish the OST was out now, actual vocal song, guess its the ed was exceptional (or is it the OP?).

Please get a huge fandom.

Oh hey, this was a lot better than I thought it would be. Also, being 12 minutes help a lot.

Fun jokes, silly gags, the main guy isn't really a wimp and this show does have good timing with the jokes. Hopefully it doesn't devolve into romance and I'll stick with it.

Now that MP is gone (for now), who will respond to my Heartcatch impressions other than Regulus?

Come back Mad Pierrot.

Really dig Majestic Prince, too bad the fight at the end couldn't convince me that some kind of epic ownage was going on there.

"Oh, nice fight.. Wait? What? It's over? What they won? Enemy retreat? Wut wut wut? Why did they retreat? They still got total advantage there. The hell?"

Cardfight!! Vanguard Asia Circuit ep 90 engDub

Kamui and Morikawa have the best dialogues, if you said that to my face Id stuff your mouth full of grade threes and twin drives, lol. And then Kamui and his bro moments with Aichi coming to save the day when he needed it most. But most of all, his spinning, 1080 degree card spin, mindblown.

Hope they defeat Leon, even though I love the deck theme he has I want to see Aichi and Kamui together defeat a Psyqualia user

Her blood separates into little hearts. I think it's highly likely that romance will be on the cards.

7th's right - the OP is highly creative and the animation fluid and fun. The show itself isn't my thing at all, but it's been very nicely made which is something to be applauded!

Maturity, bitches.
Yeah, I got both of you guys as well. You jerks didn't have a single puzzle piece I didn't already have.
That's what happens when I've forgotten to take my 3DS out with me for over a month. Least I unlocked that one achievement for it.

Why does no-one ever wear a white T-shirt? I need a Mii with light powers to do the screen in StreetPass Quest I'm stuck on :(

Also yes, it IS the year of Luigi, you are most correct.
Because purple is the best colour in the world and if I had my way all consoles would be purple. Take that anti GameCube people.

Hataraku Maou-sama! 01

One of the most memorable first episodes I've seen in a while. Everything clicked perfectly and it was hilarious seeing them get used to Earth in the first part of the episode. The only problem is I find it hard to believe the series can keep this up.

Photokano 01

They clearly are trying to make the whole subject matter seem classier and less pandering than it is. I don't really have a problem with that, but I just found the whole thing boring until the photography clubs recruited him near the end. I'm intrigued enough to keep watching for now, though.

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru 01

Hard to ignore all the similarities to Haganai but the show seems like it will have some definite differences. I feel like I'll like the main character more than Kodaka and I doubt any of the characters will be as bad as Yozora.

Date A Live 01

This seemed just as stupid as it did when I skimmed a couple chapters of the manga.

Oreimo. 01

If you're not watching this for Kuroneko then what's wrong with you?

The hell, Muromi-san is a Shounen Magazine series? Damn, would love if it was a long-running adaptation, but then they probably wouldn't be able to keep up this animation quality even if it is only half-length.

This isn't really a show with teams.

Kirino is one of the worst characters ever, Kuroneko is a goddess.

I can't agree more.

We are! We're just on opposing sides in this war.

You know what they say, enemies today, friends tomorrow! :D

I never expected :SDburton to go for the kirino route.
But then again i can understand
Our paths diverge for this anime but at least we'll find ourselves with the same goals later maybe.

She plays games where you have to capture the heart of a young maiden. I must support her as she supports the garden. :D

And this is why i can understand you ..

However kuroneko has just way too many attributes for me to ignore, maybe i'm biased after playing the psp games .. but i won't change my opinion about her .

I understand and respect your resolve to stick with your girl! We are still Yuri comrades to the end.

Oreimo Episode 1

What a pointless episode. Literally nothing happened. I know this is slice of life (yeah right lol)but at least give the audience some hint as to whats coming next or have some meaningful substance in your first episode.

I usually like ClariS' songs but I am not sure about this one. Maybe it will grow on me.

I have a question though. Is it normal for family to take baths together in Japan? I have seen many anime where there are family baths. I understand if its when the children are young because I used to bathe my sis and my mum used to bathe me but that was when we were like 3 or 4. Any older and I can imagine it being awkward as hell and deeply disturbing.

I also don't understand why everyone is so hung up on Kuroneko. Do you guys like those shy kind of girls? She needs to lighten up and I find it very weird that a 18 year old would go out with a 14/15 year old girl. Yeah it happens irl but come on is it hard to get with a girl round your age.

I'm hoping manami (the childhood friend) is the one Kousuke ends up with, since this show has now turned into a harem.

Oreimo 1

Great to see Manami again. Basically it's a reintroduction to most of the characters. Kuroneko and Kosaka is probably going to be a thing this season so I wonder how far do they go.

April's Fools was last Monday, bro.

I hate April fools. I'm also not joking.

Out of interest, how do you feel about judy and mary/YUKI? I've always felt that YUKI shares a similar vocal quality to nano.ripe, and I still don't quite understand why you hate nano.ripe so much!

I don't either. I find Nano.ripe and YUKI to be extremely adorable. The OP song is the only thing I actually liked about Love hina.

I think I like Maou-sama more than the other first episodes because it sets up its simple premise well. I feel like the other shows don't do that as well, which is why I'm not as excited about them.

In Maou-sama, you know a basic background about the characters so far (even the heroine), you know what they want to do, and you know where the initial tension in the show will come from. Everything's very clearly explained for me.

All of this is accompanied by funny gags, although I admit that I'm a sucker for sudden stops in music during punchlines and jokes where serious situations are built up only for a joke to appear. For example, when Ashiya trying to use magic, nothing happens the first time and a taxi stops a second time. During the montage where Maou integrates themselves into society, the first two scenes are relatively serious and the Maou is smooth regarding his explanation. The last scene (rule of three!), of course, subverts this and I found it hilarious.

Unfortunately, I don't think Oregairu, MJP, and DS2 were as successful. Oregairu especially fared the worst of the four to me. By the end, I had no idea what the show wanted to do, and the characters suffered for it. I get that the show is going to be about the group helping each other through their problems, but it doesn't really do a good job of showing you that. Hachiman might be one who will go through the most change, but his relationship with Yukino doesn't change and he even helps Yui out. Yukino is obviously the main heroine, but I have no idea how she's going to get through to Hachiman and, as a character, she feels shallow because everything about her is told to you (this is probably because they're in clubroom basically all the time).

I'm easily amused and find a lot of mediocre jokes hilarious, but most of the talking in Oregairu isn't very interesting. The jokes that worked for me actually had a punchline. I thought Hachiman's flashbacks were funny because they build up to something. Yukino's insults and their conversations in general aren't really funny because it feels like the jokes are just sprinkled in their conversations for seasoning. I dunno. Everything in the show just feels really unfocused, and I wouldn't be surprised if it were due to a lazy transition from a light novel format to an anime format. Oregairu reminds me of the reasoning KyoAni had for introducing new characters: Having only two or three characters talking in a scene may work for a light novel, but it feels incredibly empty in an anime.

I kinda feel like I don't know where MJP is going as well, except less so. I actually thought the reactions were kinda funny until the last joke. As I said, I'm easily amused, lol. They were actually set up as jokes, which Oregairu didn't do. I can see why people might have been turned off by them though, since they repeat the same joke at least three times without any real variation. I also feel like they didn't do a great job setting up the show. The setting is a war between humans and aliens. The characters were awful in school, didn't have really interesting goals when asked, and did a great job in the field defying everyone's expectations in the field. That's great. With that in mind, does it really matter to me what happens after? I'm not really interested a show where I should expect the main characters to fail every time, only for them to succeed because they're actually not bad. Should I expect them to succeed every time only for them to fail at a critical moment? I don't know what the conflict in the show is.

DS2 does a good job telling me what I should expect from the show. It's just kinda boring, lol. The main characters are really plain so far. It's unfortunate too because, to me, this kind of plot kinda needs you to care about the futures of the characters, but I don't have reasons to. I really like Nitta though, and her Digimon is BLANKA. I'll probably watch it for her, lol.

Well, I shouldn't be too down on DS2, or any of the other shows so far, because I enjoyed watching them. DS2 first episode worked well enough to set things up, and I can't be too greedy with first episodes. Same with MJP. I'm sure the characterization in DS2 and the plot in MJP will come with time. I'm not as confident about Oregairu. Hopefully, it gives me reasons to continue with the show, lol.

so cute

Agreed that Maou seems to be the most successful show at what its aiming for so far. And Nitta is a cutie.

[Flowers of Evil] - 1

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I thought this was really, really good. I guess this means I'm now a member of some camp that's diametrically opposed to some other people.

I'm, strangely enough, in this group. Don't really know what it is about this show, but I really kind of enjoy it. Especially that bizarre ending "theme"

[Death Billiards]

I really enjoyed this well. I had no problem with the ambiguity of the narrative, or the twists and turns that the story went through. In the end it was a character study and it's pretty easy to see what kind of characters these gentlemen had. However, as a character study I think we needed to learn a bit more about these folks then we actually got.

Also, I thought the ending was a little flat despite the fact that the ambiguity doesn't bother me.

What is this Death Billiards show actually about? Also there are actually a few people who seem to enjoy Aku no Hana. Its very polarizing.

Nice to see Hataraku Maou-sama! gets some exposure here and not being written off easily.

Naturally, because its fun and competently made.

How do Japanese otaku watch these shows? Stay up late then sleep 3-4 hours before the day begins? Sleep beforehand? Record it on VHS, or whatever technology?

People like to stay up really late. Some of us also work at night so when we are off, this is just a normal time to be wide awake.

That all sounds promising. Maybe this season won't suck after all.

Nah its still gonna suck.
But wasn't this mech season? I guess that makes it better.

[Ore no Imouto something something season 2] ten seconds into episode 1

Flashback of naked little Kirino entering the bath to spend some fun times with her brother

NOPE

NOPE indeed. Kuroneko save us!

Yeah, I was asking myself why that girl didn't just join the girls' soccer team during that episode. But apparently, there wasn't one. I'm not sure how that school went without a girls' soccer team all that time, but it seems they did.

Why'd Tsubomi ditch her glasses? Glasses rule. She just needed a better looking pair. And how does she see now? I highly doubt she went out and got contacts in the span of, like, a couple of days. She just said "Oh yeah, I'm gonna stop wearing my glasses". You can't do that.

Cure Marine is there now. So this show should be getting into full swing.

Oh, and that CG ending is still jarring as hell to watch. Especially when they start doing the monkey. But I like the song better than the song in the OP. The OP isn't as snappy as I'd like it to be.

I wasn't too sold on this at first, but then I read through the manga after watching and now I want to keep watching to see certain scenes in this style. The ED was awesome.

Just finished it, beautiful ending...
but why did Onizuka go to America? Did he flee, because he was innocent.
Is the manga as good?

Highly recommended, humoristic yet can be serious at times when Onizuka is giving life lessons... Vice principal was a good guy, he redeemed himself in the end by standing up against the board of education. He is a true professional in the holy vocation.

The manga is way better, yes.
I enjoyed it more than the anime. I still love the latter though, it was one of my first animes ever when I was still 9 years old so I'm deeply attached to it. The OST is really good.
But you know, half of the manga has not been adapted so... I definitely recommend reading it.

Love GTO so much... One of my top 3 mangas ever.
