I can't grind, though. No place to go but the next chapter. Well, and that DLC portal.

My guys just...die. I've tried pairing, not pairing, Recalling the two squishies on their lonesome, hiding, camping, rushing...

I'd totally grind if I could.

Spotpass characters. Mist, for example, is level 1, and her army should be easy to beat.

Who should I pair Vaike with on playthrough 2? I put him with Miriel on the first one.

I did the same on my first playthrough, never used their kid. I'm gonna pair him with Maribelle on this playthrough, just for shits and giggles (and
War Cleric Brady
).

With Cherche to produce the best pair up Brave Axe-using Berserker Gerome in the game.

Vaike/Cherche sounds ridiculous and wonderful.

Also, I used FeMU the first time and got Chrom (DAT BISHIE SPARKLE), so I'm playing a male MU this time... Gonna pimp ALL THE LADIES so I can see their English S-Ranks. Will probably end up with Tharja though. Tharja is hot.

RE: Emmeryn

You guys should spoiler your comments. If you're talking about her Prologue, that's quite a large spoiler, especially since this game just came out in PAL land.

Question -- does female Morgan have access to Dark Flier regardless of MU's wife? Or does MU's wife have to have access to it to begin with?

Our holy day of new DLC is upon us once again. Praise be to IS and its herald 8-4!

Edit: Oh Naga, please let there be a DLC download this week, no news from the Facebook page ):

Ok, so this is my first FE game, but I've opted for hard/classic after research as to the best combination is.

I am on chapter 2; making it this far was a challenge but it hasn't felt unfair and it's forcing me to learn the game mechanics.

However I am getting into the habit of a reset every time a character dies, and I'm wondering if this means I should switch to casual. I see that resets are common and kind of 'part of the experience', but isn't this the point of casual mode... ? The AI also feels a little cheap, in that it appears to be programmed not to win the battle - simply to kill the weakest unit, whether or not in the longer view that is bad tactics.

Anyway...

I'm playing on Normal with the Newcomer setting on. It's my first Fire Emblem really, so it's a whole learning game here. Plus just hitting A gets you that setting. If I enjoy it, I'll go back through on Hard/Classic.

I recommend you to just stick with Classic. The feeling of having to restart if everybody dies itself is motivation enough for you to be a lot more careful, whereas if you play in Casual, you just don't have that kind of consideration, and thus you tend to be just okay performing 'send him/her to die' tactics that you just won't do in Classic.

Pfft... I'm on Chapter 3. Should I just restart but in Classic mode? (Also, odd they renamed Casual to Newcomer for the EU release)

I meant to say 'anybody', I don't know why I typed 'everybody' instead >____>

Yep, I recommend you to just restart in Classic. Normal difficulty is accommodating enough for newcomers/beginners without you having to succumb to further compromise making your file Casual.

Guess I'll restart. :p
Probably wouldn't feel like much of an accomplishment otherwise.

Has anyone beaten Lunatic yet? I saw people having trouble with the Prologue(!?) which is just insane.

I'm surprised they didn't add a mode the opposite of Casual/Newcomer, too. "Hardcore", where the game saves after every turn so even resetting won't bring back a dead person. Would anyone here play that?

Also I am in love with Miriel.

>_> I'm not a fan of abuse so no...tho someone would play it with lunatic+.

Casual isn't all bad. Access to 2 more saves is nice...or atlease that's how I use them lol.

People talk about optimising who marries who, but I won't screw myself over if I just marry people I think are cute together, right? :p

Unless you are playing Lunatic or you're a hardcore stat cruncher, I wouldn't worry. I only paired one couple together for stat reasons, everyone else I just paired up because I liked them as couples and it turned out just fine.

Honestly, I would go normal/classic or hard/casual. Casual also has the benefit of inbattle saves which makes the game much more friendlier.

Hell no. In fact, I usually recommend this on a first run. Pick the characters and pairings you like the most and go with that.

You can always save optimized pairings for later playthrough (and you need multiple playthroughs if you want to unlock all convos anyway).

Got 99 problems and only one of them is a waifu
I'm guessing that the artbook is the same as the one we got over here? Superior hard cover though :D

Looks nice.

Huh. I can't even remember which mission that is.

I am new to the series and I'm playing on hard/casual and I didn't have an specific roadblocks early on (or really at any point). I mean, I have failed a few missions but nothing ever seemed insurmountable.

Have you beaten it yet?

UK Artbook is awesome.
Yieks that is a surprise. I was expecting the 16 page pamphlet Gamestop had...but a hardback?

Hope my copy comes with this...I did have pre order in before they mentioned it so hopefully that counts. If it doesn't GAMEs customer services are usually tough luck when it comes to description related issues...(and I remember the Xenoblade poster fiasco all too well...3 posters...no wait 1...no wait, instore only)

Shit, wish I'd got it from Game now. How long is it?
From another thread...
Fire Emblem plus free 200 page artbook arrived from GAME today.
Could that second zero be a typo? Edit: It apparently is...for a second there I thought Nintendo UK had lost their mind like Nintendo France did a few years ago (translating the Xenoblade artbook into French then giving 1000 copies away for free...also announcing Pandora's Tower and Last Story just to troll NOA).

By my count it's 24 pages give or take. The pages have no gloss on them unfortunately (like the US copies do).

From what I've seen of the pages you got, this has the exact same character art.

My copy is in the mail at some point over the next 2 days. Played the demo last night for the first time. It gave me mega boner. That artstyle during the cutscenes is just OHHHHHHHH.

Any tips for this and 2 and 3?
