A regular contributor over at NoHomers.net (TheRealJims) has a polished episode review series on YouTube called 60 Second Simpsons.
That description is about as literal as it gets... he summarizes and provides insight on Simpsons episodes in minute-long segments.

His most recent installment was just released today and profiles Lisa's Substitute from Season 2.

Feel free to check it out... and if you're entertained enough by this one you can scope out his 29 previous installments under his YouTube profile.
Some of the episodes covered include Homer's Enemy, Cape Feare and Last Exit to Springfield.

I thought of this while watching that Ryan Lochte interview.

Michael Caine: Sorry, M.B., but I'm having trouble with this character. Is he supposed to have some kind of neurological impairment, like "Rain Man", or "Awakenings"? I mean, what the hell am I doing here?!

Here's a great animated sequence. It's from Season 15!

The post-classic years wouldn't be so bad if they could look like this more often.

There was the "post pictures that highlight the..." thread but I thought this was its replacement. That .gif is awful by the way.

i just found this .gif online

was this actually in an episode?

tumblr_m2mu2y56Oh1r5i6u8o1_500.gif
That WAS actually in an episode. A terrible episode.
Season 23's The Ten-Per-Cent Solution as written by the voice of Homer and his wife.
Not only did it feature a terrible script but it had Joan Rivers in a featured guest role.

Dude, the Simpsons have been on television in some form since April 1987. That was 26 years ago. Don't act so shocked.
They're back at work right now cranking out another full production run of episodes. Looks like going beyond Season 25 is a foregone conclusion right now otherwise they wouldn't need a full run.

Or were you being sarcastic about me having to spell out that a Season 23 episode was terrible? Because that season had some great episodes as well.

I've only watched about 6 episodes of the Simpsons ever. One or two from within the past 5 years and the rest from maybe 10-15 years ago.

So, if GAF can collectively agree upon ONE season which is the absolute best, I will buy that one on DVD and report back with my opinion once I've finished watching it.

Don't fail me now GAF.

The latter.

I'm a Season 6 fan for overall consistency's sake.
There are episodes I like better in Seasons 2-5 but Season 6 has the best hit-to-dud ratio in the entire series.

- And Maggie Makes Three
- A Star is Burns
- Bart of Darkness
- Bart's Comet
- Bart's Girlfriend
- Bart vs. Australia
- Fear of Flying
- Grampa vs. Sexual Inadequacy
- Homer Badman
- Homer the Great
- Homer vs. Patty and Selma
- Homie the Clown
- Itchy & Scratchy Land
- Lemon of Troy
- Lisa on Ice
- Lisa's Rival
- Lisa's Wedding
- The PTA Disbands
- 'Round Springfield
- Sideshow Bob Roberts
- The Springfield Connection
- Treehouse of Horror V (the one where Willie gets axed three times) - also Time and Punishment is genius
- Two Dozen and One Greyhounds
- Who Shot Mr. Burns? (Part One)

I mean, really... the only bad egg in that lot is Fear of Flying - and it's not like it's terrible. Plus, there's a disposable clip show you can easily skip.

I just recently watched a bunch from Season 8.

Buy them all up to season 8 and possibly 9. They're all on sale. If you must skip 1 and 2 go ahead but you should have at least the first 8 or 9.
