Request - anybody have a gif of that scene when Bart has his big "I Didn't Do It" moment and only a couple people in the crowd mildly chuckle? I love that shot of the audience not responding expect for one or two people barely flinching. It's how I feel reading 90% of the internet. ;)

I've only watched about 6 episodes of the Simpsons ever. One or two from within the past 5 years and the rest from maybe 10-15 years ago.

So, if GAF can collectively agree upon ONE season which is the absolute best, I will buy that one on DVD and report back with my opinion once I've finished watching it.

Don't fail me now GAF.

gaf collectively agrees that season 2 is the best. it has the best episodes.

Homer: "That's Russell Crow, Cameron Crow, Crow Diddley, Hume Crownin, Gregory Peck..."
Marge: "Hmm, Homer I'm very uncomfortable having a gang of crows in our bedroom."

Homer: "It's a MURDER honey, a group of crows is called a MURDER"
Marge: "I'm sleeping on the couch."

Marge: We're bringing in dinner
Lisa: What are we going to have?
Homer: Well that depends. If you've been good; pizza if you've been bad, err poison.
Lisa: What if one of us has been good and one bad?
Bart: Poison pizza.
Homer: Ooh no i'm not making two stops.

Season 2 has a lot of charm, best stories and most heart.
Season 6 is the funniest.
Season 7 is the best middle ground of those things.

Series 4 is definitely my favourite.

Long term Simpsons fan (of the old real episodes) but never posted in Simpson GAF before :p

Still the greatest episode in the past 13 years.
Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind, was brilliant. I loved it. I can not be the only one who actually enjoyed the hell out of this episode?
I personally think it be put in Season 9/10 and it would fit in.

Is that the one where he has amnesia and thinks he punched Marge and wants to kill himself?

Someone who kept up with the show should compile a list of decent eps of the more recent years. I stopped watching after s17, which was pretty terrible iirc

Yeah, it was a nice episode.

I actually kinda liked the episode 'Bart Stops to Smell the Roosevelts' - if you can get over the fact that they did the whole 'holding the school hostage' thing in the episode where Edna & Skinner get fired, it's a pretty great (by modern Simpsons standards) episode that sees Chalmers take it upon himself to teach Bart and other failing students, only to lose his job because of it. There's a few shitty jokes, but I liked that they showed Chalmers as more than just the guy who yells at Seymour.

The movie starts out great because of plenty of funny moments, until the family is driven out of town, where it kinda falls apart.

Russ Cargill is awesome, though. Albert Brooks never disappoints.

...so what do you guys think the movie

I like it overall but it's not as good as it should have been, given the writing staff

It was as good as I could've hoped, but nothing more really. Basically would classify it as a good modern episode that for once wouldn't have me frantically grappling to get the batteries back in the remote. Spider pig made me chuckle. I still weep to think the original plan for a Simpsons film was the Kamp Krusty episode.
