Emily Rogers: Good E3 for Wii U, owning both Wii U and 3DS beneficial in the future.

If there's any kind of cross-play stuff, I really hope it's cross-region too. I have a Japanese 3DS and an American Wii U. I already have enough issues trying to play multiplayer 3DS games with American 3DSs, so, yeah... I realize my situation is uncommon though.

First thing I thought of too. But I guess there will be enough reasons to buy a Japanese Wii U anyway for Japanese speakers.

Please let there be cross play between Wii U and 3DS.

Long overdue, so probably not happening :p

I expect the usual, not-really-new-anything E3 all over again. If you're excited for gameplay vids of Smash/WW/already announced titles, then you'll be fine, but expecting anything really new or having some substance is a long shot.

I lost all my VC games because I did something stupid even though it's because of Nintendo's stupid, but I would rebuy them -- albeit with gritted teeth -- if they'd be tied to an account.

Shared VC content would be great, as would potential crossplay...

...E3 isn't that far away, I kind of can't wait to see rumors put to rest and to just know what will be happening with the Wii U (and to a somewhat lesser extent, the 3DS) at E3 and the rest of this year, as nervewracking as that may be.

Like I said in another thread, expect 3DS games to be available on the Eshop for use on the Wii U, and I bet if you buy the game once, like Vita you can play across both systems. I bet they'll really push this with Pokemon and would explain why they are localizing more 3DS games than before.

Would be damn near impossible through emulation if (as we were discussing in the GBA thread) they can't even get GBA games running properly on 3DS. A 3DS Player? Maybe, that would be cool.

I'm assuming this will only be for games sold on that consoles eShop. For example N64 games, I doubt will ever be on the 3DS eshop. But great news for NES (and hopefully SNES) purchases.

BUT Will I be able to transfer my 3DS Donkey Kong Original Edition NES rom to my Wii U? Even if Nintendo never puts it up for sale on the eshop?

Same question in reverse for PAL owners. If they transferred the Wii Donkey Kong Original Edition rom to the Wii U, will they now be able to play it on the 3DS too?

Oh hey guys I found a time machine

You know what we should use this for? We should go back to 2011 and see what Emily Rogers said about E3 then

*time travel transition*

There will be over twenty playable Project Café titles on the show floor.
Pikmin 3 is guaranteed to be there and playable on the new home console.
Soul Calibur 5 is a launch title.
Nintendo wants to launch with a big first person shooter title.
Smash Bros. is in development, but by a different team of people.
Rockstar is working on something for the system, but it might not be at E3.
Nintendo has improved their online system significantly.

Wow 2011 sure was different! Good thing she called all of this perfectly in that year. Just to continue this outstanding list of things she has heard, let's see what else she said that year.

Emily Rogers has done it again. This time her sources have apparently given her information on the Wii 2′s digital content. Firstly she was told that SEGA are getting ready to port some of their Xbox Live Arcade Genesis games to the Wii 2′s Virtual service.

Considering the VC launches tomorrow and we haven't heard anything about this, we can safely say that Sega is planning this as a surprise and this must be 100% confirmed in our hearts.

*nods* Clearly all of this makes total sense.

Remember her E3 2011 Wii U screenshots?

Good thing we have this time machine so we can go back and compare these to the Pikmin 3 and Endless Ocean 3 screenshots they actually released at E3 2011 that clearly existed and were not at all imaginary.

What about the Starfox game she insisted was coming?

there will be a Star Fox game on the Wii 2 – probably won’t be shown at E3 because it is very early in development

Oh good.

Nintendo is considering releasing The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword close to the Wii 2′s launch as the Wii 2 will be able to run Wii games, in a move akin to what they did with Pokémon Black & White and the 3DS

Skyward Sword - November 2011
Wii U - November 2012

Nailed it

a widely loved FPS is getting ported to the 3DS.

Oh shit

Emily Rogers found my time machine and went in to the future to find Renegade Kids' eShop FPS! That's how she's getting all her hard hitting and totally accurate news!

I can't see it being Cross Buy since Nintendo's so cheap.
I can't see it being Cross Play since there's such a gap between U and 3DS

It'll be interesting so see what this is.

The way she tweeted that makes me think it's Wii U to 3DS connectivity regarding VC. If it is it will probably end up to be something really stupid like download play or remote play for Wii U VC, so you can play NES or SNES games on your 3DS (despite the fact you probably own a few 3DS VC games). Y'know, the same thing that can be accomplished with an account system much better. I only say this because Nintendo tends to do their own weird shit to fix mistakes instead of industry norms (eg. Miiverse instead of an Xbox Live-esque system, Wii Speak instead of a microphone, etc).

Honestly though I don't really trust Emily Rogers regarding internal Nintendo stuff. She is good with indies however (apart from that one time).

I didnt say you have to. I do. If you want make fun of someone because what they see as proof go ahead. Just so you know, I give 0 fucks.
I'm sure Anne fucking Frank could have told you YouTube is coming to Wii. Not only that, but Alberto just exposed her bullshit several posts above.
