New Hunter x Hunter Anime |OT| of Hunters and adventure and NO MANGA SPOILERS

Parts of this episode had a real...sinister element to them. That ant queen seems pretty gnarly, and the fact that half an ant was able to make Killua bleed tells me they may be in a little over their heads.

The part with the cards doing different things is kinda dumb, but I'll just assume Ging is the Batman of this series, always having a plan.

Woah am I misremembering stuff because I could have sworn the anime changed a lot of stuff in the chimera ant arc. Pretty weird.

I'm not surprised they made it this far . Starting into the ant arc will be interesting. I wonder if they'll finish the entire arc ? possibly until the end of the year ?

They did. Gon always knew Kite in the manga but that was cut from the beginning of the anime. They did add a whole bunch of stuff like those ants being there and being chimera ants which seems odd. And apparently Ging is Aizen now like someone mentioned. And Kite was always aware of Greed Island. Can't say I'm a fan.

If you find yourself bored in the next week+ up to the first Ant arc episode, you know what to do. Greed Island is really good in the new anime (especially Razor's match). If nothing else, at least watch the Hisoka vs Kastro fight since the old anime completely skipped it and it was fully adapted this time.

Totally agreed with you on the training stuff, it's mesmerizing.

Well, they didn't really skip it. They just showed it as a recap after the fact. It seems like they did quite a bit of that. It's like at the end of the hunter test when Gon wakes up and has to ask how it ended.

That's a shame to hear about the Ant Saga. I was hoping they stick hardcore to the Manga this time because I loved the Chimera ants so much. I will forgive all if they stick to it properly once Knuckle and Morau are introduced. Two of the best characers in the manga and it really brought hunterxhunter back after all the time off IMO.

They also removed Kite letting Gon keep Ging's license.. though I guess it doesn't matter too much.

I don't even remember them doing a recap. Killua did explain the tricks in 5 seconds later when he watched a tape but it made no sense because you'd need the context of the fight to understand.

I'm pretty sure they didn't show the Kastro fight in the old anime. They just show the aftermath, I think. On the other hand, they fill in some gaps very nicely elsewhere.

Heavens Arena arc is over and man what a way to finish it off.

Honestly the animation in this show is so damn good. The fight between Gon and Hisoka was gorgeous. Animation constantly beats out Naruto and OP in every episode I've watched.

The fight as well was fucking awesome. There wasn't too much dialogue and I thought the pacing was awesome. Action packed. I'm guessing the ref was trying to save Gon? I know Hisoka wouldn't have killed him anyway but the ref doesn't know that. Hisoka is still miles ahead of Gon, though.

-Hisoka getting hard off of fights is lol.
-I'm curious to see who was that dude that sat down with the commentator girl. My guess is that he's a floor master.
-Hisoka being fake Phantom Troupe gets me excited to what happens in the next arc

Man, I just watched this show in about a week thanks to that suggest an anime thread. So good. I think my least favorite arc was the Phantom Troupe one (though I liked the bits with
and Killua trading stuff
), but everything else has been fantastic.

Oh, and I really liked the ending song in the Greed Island arc.
Yep same here. Always liked hearing the transition to the credits.

I still laugh that the opening is still the same song. It sounds so cheerful compared to what happens in this chimera ant arc. At least in the original series during the York Shin arc, the song for the opening was this really dark/depressing sounding song that fit that arc.

Episode 47:

Dat. Fight.

I hope the anime continues until it catches the manga. I also hope the dude finishes the manga.

I don't know what happened to the writer but he should try to finish it at least.

Possible manga spoilers:
Just a quick google. Some pretty interesting stuff as well as some nice little factoids at the end. By far, the best:

Given 48 issues of Jump in one calendar year, that’s 6.92 publishing years missed.

I can't believe he's just not motivated. The show is stunning. What a jerk. Any idea if it's at least close to done? Considering it's 340 chapters.

Any manga readers want to chime in?

Considering what happens during the last 2 chapters,
no, we're nowhere near, there's still so much left to wrap up/explore.

I'm not sure how much you want me to say here... but no, it's not close to done (definitely not).

Some long years ago there were rumors of him having a hand injury, then a few years ago there were some strong rumors (that are still around) of him having back problems going as far as hospitalizations. But there were also strong rumors that he has no assistants which aren't true, so I'm not sure what to believe.

Don't call people jerks based on internet rumors...
Living the show that much ;p.

But man so nobody really has any clue, huh. Back, hand, no assistants, swimming in money... Lol so many rumors

Considering the mama started before naruto and it's not even close to bring done. I doubt it ever will actually finish :(

Easily. Fits the mood of Yorkshin perfectly, and the visuals are incredible. Old HxH music >>>>>>>> New HxH music. Other parts are debatable but this isn't. It's like the new creators don't know how to establish the mood with music. Silva and Killua's Grandpa vs Kuroro had blaring rock music playing in a bright room in the new one. It was awful.

Old HxH also had the best fight music

Well he did add two more chapters (split chapter sidestory) last year, so I guess he is still interested. Probably just needs to find his muse, cant imagine its easy to generate such an excellent quality series week by week unless youre Kishimoto.

i've only watched the 2011 series, but my first impression of this is that it sounds like they ripped off something by Oasis. I don't dislike it but it sounds VERY similar.

Wino (the band that performed the song) was inspired by Oasis, The Beatles, and other British rock groups. So yeah, they do sound very similar. That's kind of why I like them :)

Edit: if anyone's interested in hearing more, there are samples on Amazon.co.jp

IDK man. That track sounds incredibly cheesy compared to the new H x H. Although I am probably biased because I've never seen the old one. I can't find the name of it but the track where Genthru realized that Gon gets his arm blown off is pretty amazing.
This is probably my favorite track http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-C_sBL1JrlI

According to him from an October 2011 interview with Eiichiro Oda (One Piece), he as 5-6 ideas, but if all goes well he'll do at least 3-4 more arcs.

http://hunterxhunter.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:MrGenial11/Yoshihiro_Togashi_/_Eiichiro_Oda_interview

O: So where is HxH? At half?

T: Hard to say. I still have five or six stories in mind. If all goes as planned, there should be at least 3 or 4 stories after the ant arc. Course of time, unexpected events occur and fuck up your plans. therefore, OP is more than half? (So for all of those who think the Dark continent will be the last arc :p)

Oh, and you gotta love these two tracks from HxH '99:

I'm up to the Heaven's Arena arc in the new HxH. Gon just started his first fight on the 200 floors. I watched the old series several years ago and loved it.

I had originaly dropped this remake after the 2nd episode because it was pretty damn awful, but came back to it. I still don't agree with all of the editing done, but most of it seemed harmless, and I heard it gets better later on.

I thought in the old series (I'm not sure about the manga) that the Nen Baptism done by Wing was still incredibly dangerous because if they couldn't learn to use Ten they would leak all of their aura out and die? It seemed much more dangerous in the old series compared to the new one. Wing's explanation in the new one just sounded like they would get tired, even though if you think about it if they fall asleep from fatigue but the aura pores are still open, they'd die eventually possibly in their sleep.

I still don't buy that people in this world wouldn't notice there is a super power system available to everybody. I'd understand it if floor 200+ spectating was only available to Nen users, but the fact that the public is watching this and not questioning what is going on is complete bullshit. You are telling me that they will watch a fight where people will throw cards like they are knives, move objects in the air, have a sword or chain appear out of thin air, and punch like a bulldozer won't make people question that there is a power they aren't aware of? I understand that this is a world where a kid can lift 500+ pounds and 3 guys of average looking builds can push open a door weighing 2 tons, and doing a little bit of training goes a long way far beyond what our reality allows, but come on!
