HYPE get.

Because as much as I love the series, I kinda was prepared for a Galaxy/3D Land rehearse.

Surprise me Ninty!

Dude... Goku in Smash makes all the sense. And he's fucking hype compared to shit stains like Sonic.

EDIT: fan rumours... lol.

Is the sarcasm, or have we forgotten how are blue friend got into brawl.

Not true. Retro is working on Star Tropics.

That's honestly what I believe their project is too. When itfirstgot mentioned they're doing a game it was kinda like "Gotta be Star Tropics" and I haven't second doubted it. We will see.

As for that bigger list of rumors, I personally believe it guys. It's too long and too detailed a list for someone to just sit down and write that up on the fly. That's my opinion and I have a right to that. I really think their E3 has just been laid out in front of everyone. IF that entire longer list is true, lets just say it is, is that enough to turn around Wii U? It'll depend in what all these "unannounced games" are. I don't believe every rumor list I read. You can tell which rumors are BS usually and that longer list doesn't strike me personally as BS. I think people here need to wait a few weeks on this before getting out their pitchforks. Just wait and see before letting the phrase bullshit fly. If it ends up totally wrong knock yourselves out. But if its not, well then you've just seen their E3.

I keep waiting for a mod to update the thread title to Tales From Iwata's Ass. This sounds like bullshit guesswork anybody could have came up with.

Multiple Nintendo Directs? Nintendo said this is happening.

A big Mario game? Nintendo said this is happening. We can assume that on new, better tech, the world will be bigger. Truly shocking.

Oh, a sci fi FPS? Is it a new Metroid?! Or maybe a multiplayer shooter only Retro could provide for Nintendo?! Vaguely vagueness, what a safe comment!

Namco Smash! Gorkorrr confirmed!!

The only thing that could ever come back and validate these guesses as a secret insider spy is if I see a spiky-haired blond guy chasing and orange ball in Smash.

You must be new to GAF; this has been brought up many times.

Okay, I'm sure you've played Super Mario 64. The levels in that game are pretty open. Now, imagine a game where all the levels are connected. The game notifies you when you enter a new area, and some areas are blocked off until you defeat a boss.
Didn't Banjo Tooie do something similar? Don't really want that in Mario. Unless its more like a sectioned Mushroom Kingdom? Idk, honestly I'm sure whatever they do will be great.

Have you guys actually looked through the IGN topic? He doesn't even remotely hint at Goku. Someone asked if Goku's in Smash, and his response is that he doesn't know but it's possible.

Did I seriously cause this entire thread by just mentioning his name in one post at another thread? I guess the butterfly effect sure is powerful...

Pretty sure it's botb. They have to have been born video game characters and have to have been on Nintendo systems at least some point in time. Good rules imo. Keep Mickey Mouse, Batman, Homer Simpson, and yes even Goku away from Smash.

Though I don't buy this for a second so no worries here.

Both must be fulfilled.

Ahh

Did the baseless Nintendo rumors start this early last year? There were so many of them it's hard to remember.

Metriod X Starfox, "leaked" trailer of Final Fantasy Versus XIII now PS3/WiiU, and more.

Took me a few posts to figure out what/who Goku is (a Dragon Ball Z character for the other two people on this board who also didn't know).

I would like a Mario game in the structure of a Zelda game. It's one big world where everything is connected. Imagine a real mushroom kingdom... My god...

There was a rumor right before E3 2011 stating that the 3D Mario for Wii U will be Open World.

We all want a one big connected world Mario game, in HD. It would be amazing.

Just like people were pissed they put in ROB over some other video game character people wanted for Brawl, people will be pissed they chose Goku over some other video game character for Smash 4.

It's an easy concept. Make it an adventure platforming game. One big streaming world. Put a bunch of random stars everywhere and says "have fun, collect 100 if these to enter peach's castle, which had been taken over by bowser, which is in the center of the world."

Give no hints, let the miiverse community leave hints dark souls style. True platforming and adventuring mixed together.

Open World Mario would pretty much be Banjo Tooie just 50x bigger.

I don't think that would be bad but I really liked how the Sunshine level design was set up.

Retro's game will be a futuristic Mach Rider reboot. You heard it here first folks!

Okay, not really, but wouldn't that be cool?

I liked sunshine better than 64 because it was at least one big world. But if sunshine was done as a connectrd world instead of portals, that would've been amazing.

When it comes down to it, I think 3d Mario needs the world design of a zelda game, no more level selections.

I highly doubt Goku would make it into Smash because Nintendo would have to license the rights for the character. Thus far third party characters appearing in the series have been at their creators' request and I just don't see that happening here. Namco original properties, especially ones tied to Nintendo, seem far more likely to make an appearance.

On the subject of the new Mario title we know is coming I think we're gonna see an open world Mario game. I remember years ago Miyamoto talking about an open world Mario title (can't find the article, this was around the beginning of the Wii's life cycle). He talked about the idea of the Mushroom Kingdom being laid before the player at the start of the game, each "world" representing a different area of the Kingdom. Players would have to traverse each area collecting stars to reach their ultimate goal much like in Super Mario 64 where you don't have an objective beyond find the star.

Given the power of the Wii and the fact that Nintendo did two Super Mario Galaxy titles I could see them going this route to bring a new spin to the series which has been under fire lately for becoming too formulaic. It would definitely shake things up and be a pretty good way to showcase the horse power that the Wii-U has as well.

Personally I'm on board for this idea and hope it comes to pass.

1. Nintendo will hold 3 to 5 Directs between now and the end of E3.
2. The New 3D Mario will be the biggest we've ever seen and will look like nothing we've ever seen.
3. Retro's game is a futuristic FPS everyone wants them to do (heard that one before...)
4. A certain "Super Saiyan" was teased to be in the next Smash Bros.

All 4 points sound amazing. If they are all true I will be beyond happy.

I have no doubt that it's Star Tropics. Absolutely none.

Maturity, bitches.
I can't believe people are actually in support on this Goku rumour.

There's already a barrel full of Nintendo character who are far more worthy of a place for example Tingle, Sheriff and the orange shopping bag from the 3DS eShop.

I'm sorry one does not simply put goku into a fighting game unless its a DBZ fighting game.

He will make everyone look like shit stains especially nintendo characters.

Mario killed the sun with a turtle shell in a second.
Goku would take over 3 seasons and would probably die twice trying to attempt the same thing.

This is canon fact.

people around here seriously believe that someone would just go on the internet and tell lies. way to have faith in humanity

i just don't understand how this would be fun. it sounds interesting as hell, but i don't believe it'll make a good game. mushroom kingdom isn't a particularly interesting place and open-world games tend to have very plain environments
