sony has already stated that they aren't doing this. there was an interview with yoshida saying that the world isn't ready for something like this.t oo many people are without great, consistent internet access.

I live in the 3rd World (Brazil), but even in America the internet connection quality isn't that good.

Depends on your ISP. I live in rural Iowa but my small, local ISP almost never has outages (I can think of maybe 3 outages in the last 5 years or so not counting scheduled maintenance they do maybe once a month, with minimal down time between midnight and 4 AM).
