I think it's GopherD that's also been hinting at Sony have a huge amount of PS4 games ready to roll at E3. Even going as far as to say that he'd be surprised if any PS3 or Vita games showed up in the conference because of how many PS4 games they have to show.

They still have planned something for the Vita.
So either they give it some time at E3 or more likely the TGS/Gamescom.

@brandonh83
Same here :D

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.

I'm going to assume: 50% PS4, 30% PSV, 10% PS3, 10% Features.

By the way journalists/whatever have been "pleased" with the PSV line-up, I think it will have a decent presence.

I thought Ultros wasn't an insider? why is he saying, "Yeah, he's definitely right. :)?"

I'm not an insider, heck I don't even live in a country with up-to-date gaming journalism!

I wouldn't be shocked if their entire conference is about PS4. I think 2006's was all PS3 wasn't it?

I think all they'll show for PS3 is GT6. PSV will probably have 3-4 games. 5 at most.

Of course. Sony actually showed games.

Yes, but it was way more than that. I'm not saying that Microsoft should have matched that or did something similar, but Sony just simply put together a vastly superior presentation in every conceivable way. They touched on social aspects but related them strictly to games. They talked about apps and features that aren't necessarily totally game related, but they still related them in some way to games. They talked extensively about the technology and how it, along with all its new features and bells and whistles, are going to contribute to the gameplay experience both gameplay wise and socially. In addition they had these really nicely put together animated features to go along with the speakers and various aspects of their mission statement. The entire presentation wasn't super exciting, sure, and not everything about it appealed to me personally, but for the most part they got me on board and got me very giddy about the PS4.

There were people on stage during the PS4 reveal that are ridiculously excited about what it means for games and gamers. That gets me excited. Not one god damn thing during the Xbox One reveal got me excited for the console. It was the polar opposite of the PS4 reveal. I know it's early days and Microsoft could have an incredible E3. I hope they do. I'm actually pulling for them. I want to want a One. Bias is stupid. The more things that are awesome, the more fun life is. I want these things to be amazing, but again, the difference with these events, between presentation, content, and even enthusiasm, and I'm not talking about fake crowds, is night and day.

How weird I thought I posted something here, but apparently it was in the middle of the ups and downs of the MS conference. Anyway...

With VGLeaks being almost perfect with their predictions for the PS4 and MS I think we should consider even more the rumour about Versus being turned into XV and co developed by Sony. :p

Cant wait to see the truth.

As a Vita owner I would happily give Sony free reign to talk 2 straight hours of PS4 games. After today gaming needs a real kick in the pants. Just do a short Vita conference the next day detailing Vita games and announcements and how the vita works with the PS4. Would totally be ok with 2 separate conferences, but Monday night drop all the bombs.

I think they'll show puppeteer aswell

It will probably be in a montage. E3 conferences usually focus on upcoming titles with little details. Puppeteer I believe has been detailed already and has already been revealed almost a year ago. And unfortunately it looks like it's a niche title so the chances of it having a full showing will be slim to none.

I expect these to be in the montages:
PS3 - Tales of Xillia, Beyond: Two Souls, Puppeteer, Rain, Lightning Returns, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD
PSV - Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Tearaway, Muramasa: Rebirth, Dragon's Crown, PSV PSN titles

Seriously.

MS had 3 months to study how Sony handled their conference, and what we got today was the best answer they thought of? Hell, MS delayed their reveal a month, which means they had extra time to figure out how to upstage what Sony did. Apparently they didn't use that extra time wisely.

OR

just show Vita games on the show floor, although games tend to get lost during e3 hype. I think it's a good idea to hold a separate conference the day after.

Eh, I want a small portion dedicated to Vita. PS4 will still take the majority of course but I'd like some Vita games announced and hopefully some demo's on the floor.

Look I think the Xbox One features are pretty awesome. I like that game systems are going just a bit beyond gaming. They should, this shit costs a lot of money.

That being said, Sony and Microsoft have incredibly different ways of going about this, and I get excited for a new videogame console for the prospect of better videogames. Not better TV functionality or multitasking or whatever. It's nice for those things to exist, but making that the absolute front and center of your game console reveal?

They're putting aspects in the frontlines that shouldn't be there. Show off the console, show off some games, get people excited, and then be like "oh and by the way it can also do these things..." It's just backwards to me. It's like building a hot new car and showing us how cool the keys are.

So damn excited. Only 492 hours to go.

XO will go the way of Beats Audio.

There were a lot of celeb endorsement for Kinect. Expecting the same next gen for Microsoft to propel the machine into the future.

The way they presented the Xbox One, it seems that they're marketing it as an American-oriented entertainment hub, not really a games system. :/

What makes you say that?

I dunno, if it's purely an entertainment hub (more so than the 360), I expect a lot of region locking for the services such as Hulu and Netflix, thus I definitely can't use those.

Ultros knows nothing....keep an eye on GopherD, he seems to know stuff

Probably. I may know nothing, I may know something. It's up to you if you want to believe the octopus!

Also, I'm not at all convinced that the PS4 is going to be innocent from the things we're laying into One about. I wish this stuff would be cleared up about both consoles but I understand that they're worried about backlash and they want to create a positive environment before going into things that may (will, have) piss people off.

But, frankly they need to be more confident in these decisions. There's nothing worse than having a boring presentation followed up by some awful sounding information. Sony has pretty much dodged the same questions. Yoshida stated some reaffirming things that I don't particularly take at face value as the nature of his responses were akin to Michael Bay's DP while framing action sequences.

Really can't wait to know things "for sure," when it comes to used games and online connectivity and the like. This event turned GAF into a landfill of false information and conclusion jumping, which we're already Olympian professionals at.

So I missed the Xbox reveal.

I had a fun trip going to eb games dropping off a bunch of PS3 games (ones I never play) and a wii and vita game and putting all that credit I made towards MGS Legacy collection. Can't wait to check that out. It will be the first time I ever play a Metal Gear game.

The reps were furious by the way, the phones kept ringing about people asking how much their 360s were worth and the cashiers would keep answering with a low value. Then they would hear the same bitching and whining asking why their 360s weren't worth that much.

I totally forgot about the reveal and check my phone, gaf no surprise was down. Go on joystiq, read the console name. Xbox One.

What the fuck was Microsoft thinking and who named this?

Also the rep had some fun spotting out the games I was trading in were all PS+ games I had gotten for free, it was blatantly obvious. I wouldn't have traded in Demon's Souls, Wipeout 2048, or Sleeping Dogs otherwise

by the way not the most appropriate thread, but where can I watch the actual reveal? It seems hilariously bad.

I wouldn't waste time watching the reveal. Nothing funny or amusing happens in it, just one hour of cringe-worthy corporate shilling.

All the good stuff happened in the interviews immediately after.

You have a point. To me it was also an exercise in them having learned some hard lessons over the past 7 years.

Didn't Mattrick clearly say in the beginning that it was a all-in-one entertainment box? In fact, I'm pretty sure he never said video game console.

There's a reason the Sony and MS events were night and day, they are positioning themselves differently. There was no mistake by MS, they're just making a different bet.

Pro-tip: Never expect niche titles like Mark of Kri, Grandia IV, Lunar IV, SaGa Frontier X, King of Fighters 100 to appear on a conference with a full showing (maybe unless it's Nintendo because they showed Golden Sun: Dark Dawn).

0. But I definitely know I'm going to lose this one! :)
