I think you can ignore the monster part for the vast majority of the game. At least I can't remember ever bothering with it...

I'll admit I only played about 8 hours of it before I stopped, so I don't know if you get consistent party members later on, but it bothered me for the time that I did play it.

I never played the second game... but man they sure are asking for a lot of money for an upscaled 10 year old game and a B tier secuel on a B tier franchise.

I love Symphonia and I want su support the saga coming overseas, but buying this...? Not at full price that's for sure.

If at all. I have no confidence in them to localize anything. And these games aren't worth importing without English menus/subs.
