Ground textures look low res enough to be real time. Even taking depth of field into effect.

Edit: If this plays like PGR, it'll be my first purchase for the system.

Low res?

Are you sure you are not getting confused with the road being wet and there being puddles ( which should have more reflection I think)

I hope the differing road conditions have a profound affect on the vehicle handling!

What I really love about this game is the cars look really grounded if that makes any sense. Not like 3d models on a texture but real

First, and the only other time, I felt this effect was following the pack around on F1:CE ... still the best F1 game on the PS3!

Trawled through the thread, can't see the Aston Martin shot.

Also, people are complaining about low res ground textures/coming up with excuses? So nitpicky. Is it not just depth of field?

Q: Will DRIVECLUB be a simulator or an arcade racing game?

A: Neither! We've had the absolute cream of racing developers work hard on something that fits a new space. Authentic, yet fun. Our handling team focused on making each car feel authentic and thrilling, without labels.

On the engine sounds:

Samples recorded this way: http://www.pole.se/sounds.asp

Eargasm!

I don't get it. What's that link have to do with Driveclub?

Anyway, if the sounds heard in the trailer are indicative of the full game experience, then we are in for one amazing auditory experience..

Damn Wax Free Vanilla, that Pole Position site, how did you find it?!?!?

Ok, officially my new favorite site. Sound byte heaven!

Edit-

So these guys work with game devs as well?
They have worked on Driver SF, NFS HP and NFS The Run, games with great sounding cars. They are based a few hours away from Ghost Games, the guys doing the next NFS. Seems like they'll be having a hand in that game too..

Any type of weather... that, sounds almost too good. I would love Snow and Rain at least.

Yeah true, when they say these things they don't usually mean extreme weather like hurricanes and lightning, usually just means sunshine and rainy weather.

But there is hope for snow I guess.

If this has full day/night / weather cycles on every course then hopefully it shames PD into doing it too. Snowy nighttime races need to be a thing.

While i fully agree about rain ( and dreaming about variable rain / clear conditions while driving ) i can't understand why i should be obliged to bear the pain of driving a supercar on a snowy road .... it's a pain in the ass.

Didn't Top Gear (actually might have been Tiff from Fifth Gear) recently do this with a Lambo? Either way, people aren't necessarily asking for it to be included in a campaign - but there's no reason why people shouldn't have the option to give it a try.

While i understand that this game is not a proper sim i really hope it's not going to have such an arcade handling .. cars like that on a frozen road are simply undrivable, it takes a rally car on ice tires to do something similar.

I'm not saying I want the arcade feel (I really don't) and I agree with you on how a car would handle with such weather. But I still want more weather choices. And I would be more than fine using a rally car on ice tires in Drive Club!

Dunno about the lambo but i remember a comparative made by fifth gear between a Ferrari FF ( only 4x4 Ferrari, full of dedicated electronics for driving on slippery roads ) and some similar Aston Martin. They were driving fast but struggling A LOT for sure.

Supercars have by definition every possible bad caracteristic for snow driving... huge tires, low ride height, hard suspensions, you name it.
