Oh I'm not serious, I'm glad that both are selling well, i dont just see the "OMG VITA IS ALIVVEEEEEE!!!" kind of response when we already know that it will happen each time a big game like that comes out for Vita :p
A new ip= big game?
I'm surprised it did better than Soul Sacrifice, that looked much more interesting. God Eater 2 should do amazing.

While I still think a lot of the Vita optimism is somewhat unwarranted, I do think it is fair to say that 3rd parties can have success on the platform with the right game and the right marketing, which is something I frankly didn't think we would ever be able to say.

As far as I've been following them, the first page of Media Create threads are dedicated to dumb reactions. Might as well enjoy them.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
If you combine the PSV and PSP sales of Toukiden, they almost match up with Soul Sacrifice's LTD. :p

I'm really curious how FFX HD will perform on Vita. My guess is 200k+?

I'm glad Luigi's Mansion's sales are so good. I hope Nintendo will follow up with an innovative Luigi game.

Is Toukiden a musou type game or Monster Hunter or what?

It's a hunting game in feudal Japan by Omega Force (the Musou people).

The Vita version is also high effort (Vita left, PSP right):

But yes definitely hunting action:

Japan did not get Muramasa Rebirth this week?

Came out last March and reached around 100k+ (includes DD sales) I believe.

They should have done a "HD edition" for PC instead for XSEED to localize. Would have outsold this one by a factor of 10 in the first steam sale.

XSEED baulk at the localisation for these games. Regardless, I would like to see their games on PC too.

As for the sales results here, I don't know what to expect, the price is comparatively cheaper too.

What are the next major releases for Vita and Wii U? I imagine it's Pikmin 3 for the Wii U.

For Vita Dragon's Crown comes out 7/25, (though it is multi with PS3. Unless I am missing a release that is about it for dated stuff.

Wii U has Pikmin 3 and NSL U on 7/13. W101 is in August, though I doubt it will be a big seller, and Wind Waker HD is 9/26.

Toukiden is a big game now?

Vita was in life support some months away, to the point of people defending that Sony should discontinue it. So if you enjoy your Vita and you know that Japan will probably be the main source of its catalogue, you appreciate the good news because it means more support for a system you like. You don't need to be a "Sony fanboy" for that.

Third parties making good sales on Vita means more third parties support, is not that hard to see.

It depends. Toukiden wasn't considered a major release when the first demo came out a few months ago.

The only obvious Vita 100k+ FW sellers at the moment are God Eater 2 and FFX/X-2 and these don't have a date.

I cannot freaking wait until Toukiden comes to the West.

I was kinda dissapointed by Soul Sacrifice. Looked forward to it the first day it was announced, and bought it at release.

Very, very interested in seeing this. I didn't expect Toukiden to do this good, opening above Soul Sacrifice while also being out on PSP, that's quite impressive (for Vita standards :))

New Atelier opened up with less, hmmm. Maybe it'll do better in the long run.

Remind me what Toukiden is again? It's a Musou-like game right?

Monster Hunter made by Musou guys.

Pie and Beans

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
Vita has really solidified its market. Didn't think Toukiden would do THAT well. I guess Vita just has a very pro-active game buying userbase. The best to have.

Everything else got a bump too. WiiU because they showed some TV ads again?

Escha & Logy is a 15k drop from the Ayesha first week. That's concerning.

I forgot about this title when I made the sales comparison.

Atelier on PS3:

[PS3] Atelier Rorona: Alchemist of Arland (Gust) {2009.06.25} - 47.456 / 75.063
[PS3] 1-2 Totori Atelier - The Alchemist of Arland (Gust) {2010.06.24} - 72.836 / 104.711
[PS3] Atelier Meruru: The Alchemist of Arland 3 (Gust) {2011.06.23} - 100.722 / 137.764
[PS3] Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of the Land of Twilight (Gust) {2012.06.28} - 75.874 / 102.145
[PS3] Atelier Escha & Logy: The Alchemist of Empty Twilight (Gust) {2013.06.27} - 58.169 / NEW

If Toukiden was vita exclusive, it would have outsold soul sacrifice. I really like the tone of the game but does anyone feel like Sony kinda messed up by making it so dark and gritty? It really limited it's appeal IMO.

It's a shame third parties ignore the Vita so much. Every time anyhing decent is released it shows it has selling power. I think the Vita will do just fine in Japan when all is said and done.

Great Toukiden sales. Hoh.

Btw, this is a better comparison shot between the Vita and PSP versions. Vita version looks great, and the game is a blast thus far.

It's like they're almost completely different games.

This year has actually been ok. It is a ton of multi platform stuff, but still some decent releases.

Huh, would not have expected Toukiden Vita to outsell the PSP version, let alone by almost 2:1. Guess that bodes well for GE2 whenever (if it ever?) it finally releases.

Yes, I enjoy any minor success that the platform gets given that I care about it deeply and it's been on life-support for months.

Am I supposed to feel ashamed or something?

Just wanted to come in and lol at the thought of Dave being ashamed.

Have you ever blushed?

Er... and... great Vita numbers. Who knew that software releases + price cut = sales?

They'd have to update the graphics again by the time XSEED get around to translating it.
