Of course not. It's just really silly that I need to put a big piece of tape on my controller. Obviously the light should be optional. So, for those that have light reflection with their TV setup, are you going to cancel your PS4 pre-orde? Is this a deal breaker?
I have a 46" Sony Bravia HDTV and it has a glossy glass screen, any light source will cause a reflection. I don't plan to replace my Sony tv anytime soon.
Can the colors be customized?
i.e. if I want to play with a green light all the time, is that possible to configure?
I have a reflective LCD that I sit directly in front of in a dim room, about 3-4 feet away. I have to sit straight on since it has bad viewing angles. My TV is also quite low to the ground so the Move lines up with the center of the TV. The reflection is noticeable and I can't keep my eyes from focusing on it, especially since itms constantly moving. My room is kind of a collection of all the worst possible scenarios for a reflective light.I kinda don't believe you. Or feel that you are making too much of it.
Let us remind ourselves that TVs are typically glowing with light. You would only see a reflection if the bulb happened to line up perfectly with a part of the screen that happened to be dark at that moment, for however long. The rest of the time you can't see shit. Because you are looking AT A TV.
There's no way that reflection is going to overpower a plasma.
I don't get how multimillion dollar companies design products without doing the simple thing of sitting infront of a tv from your own product lineI have a 46" Sony Bravia HDTV and it has a glossy glass screen, any light source will cause a reflection. I have a glossy TV, and play in the complete dark.
It doesnt concern me
That's not a reflection.
And that aint exactly a dark room
Future option in a firmware update confirmed.
Welp, that's It! I'm buying a WiiU
Is that really just indicated by color? Will I have to look up the manual when i forgot which player the color green was supposed to represent?Edit: Oh and you can also see who is player one, two and three and such.

I don't know if it's just indicated by color. But the primary indication will be the color. Is that really just indicated by color? Will I have to look up the manual when i forgot which player the color green was supposed to represent?
It concerns me you play in the complete dark.
Except that screen doesn't reflect off the TV.if you're bothered by a LED light I'm sure that a 6" screen is also going to get to you.
I remember a guy complaining about the tiny red light on the Dualshock 3 here.

Totally a non-issue for me. If you have a glossy display, I can see how it becomes annoying but it's nothing that some electrical tape can't fix.
Not all of us can be elephants that even remember what eye color their first grade teacher had.I don't know if it's just indicated by color. But the primary indication will be the color.
So if you have reoccurring retrograde amnesia you should definitely not purchase a PS4.

That would make sense. Just hope that third party games won't forget to include itUsually players in games are already identified by colors, even if they have numbers, they're colored numbers, so the color on the DS4 will match the color on the screen, you won't have to remember anything.
yup.
But ffs, why do electronics and computer bits all have to be festooned with led's? I have an htpc which I had to douse with electrical tape and not just externally, but the damn gfx card and motherboard too. Then there is the hdd dock I use with it--I actually had to take apart because of the LED inferno from the clear ring around the giant on/off switch couldn't be taped without making the on/off inaccessible.
Thanks for letting me vent.
RIP your eyes
Camera trackingwhats the point of the light in the firstplace?

goodbye battery life
It will be used in Killzone. Green - full health; Red - Low health
That is not healthy for your sight. Make sure that the room you play in is at least dimly lit.
Why?
Except that screen doesn't reflect off the TV.

That's an old false myth. It can cause eyestrain (due to your eyes having to constantly readjust to the changing brightness on the screen, as there is no other light to keep the brightness level more even), yes, but that's a temporary nuisance. It will cause no permanent damage to your eyes.
