The only non-jrpg I've liked so far is Fallout: New Vegas. Now, I've never played any elderscrolls and I think I would have liked Fallout 3 more if I hadn't played it back to back after New Vegas, but would The Witcher series scratch a similar itch?

Renegade Ops

A total throwback to Jungle Strike/Nuclear Strike but with the modern convenience of also being a twin stick shooter. Really great co-op since you are both able to do objectives in separate parts of the map. The cheesy GI Joe comic book style is also a nice bonus if you are ever nostalgic for such things.

What was it ?

A new beginning - final cut.

It's an adventure game with a patronizing, hamfisted eco-message.
I could live with that, because it looks gorgeous and the puzzles aren't too out there, but the voice acting and writing are insanely bad.
Every line. is deliv. ered. wrong. And was. read. By itself. (check out some youtube videos, I can't do it justice in text form =p)
Also the text is full of grammatical errors and kindergarten level writing.
