GameFreak has to be planning a 3DS remake right?right?
Man, I'd buy a 3DS so fast. The last one I played was Black and White (which was the most fun I've had since Sapphire/Ruby/Emerald).

Did not expect this Misty debate, but I'm glad since she's my favorite trainer in the anime and games. Anyone siding with Misty's return is okay in my book. Really hate how the writers got rid of her fiery attitude. All the other sidekicks since have been the same old boring pushovers. They could have easily gave her something to do in the storyline.
No, it's still firmly planted in the "shonen" genre, especially since contests weren't solely a female competition with three male main rivals and one very androgynous looking female rival. And you can believe that's what he meant, but that doesn't change that he went on to state that her removal wasn't due to not liking her as a character, only that she had the least justification to stay, just like how May and Dawn fit the same mold. They made the show considerably less shonen with the contests and May and Dawn's larger roles. Shudo said directly in his blog why Misty was dropped, she was the "least justified" main character as he put it. Basically its the nice way of saying, "I didn't care for this character."
Well, of course. Why would they air them later, when the iron wasn't as hot? All characters lose popularity over time if they leave, this certainly isn't exclusive to one character. Most of Misty's specials happened at the very beginning of AG when she just left. The only one that came in late Hoenn was the one with Luvdisc. At that point she had only been gone a few months.
Come on man, now you're just insulting other people. I was on BMGF and serebii around the same time, and the Misty fervor didn't die down until it became clear that she wasn't going to return in the next series (DP), when shippers and the like just lost interest and began leaving. The only people who clung to Misty at the time were the 12-13 year old girls who identified with her, (back in 2002 they were around that age) obsessive Pokeshippers, or just people who couldn't bear the thought that the anime was going on without their precious Misty in it. Everyone else didn't care.
No, because I'm fucking perfect and never failOf course not, because Misty isn't there. Misty's relatable for those reasons, yet May's and Dawn's various confidence struggles weren't?
I recall Misty getting worse and worse. She started out with Staryu and Starmie being fairly competent, but then she started staying in the background more except for when Psyduck needed to be a deus ex machina. Granted, Brock wasn't much better in Kanto (No idea past then), but at least none of his Pokemon were ever pushovers. Zubat, Geodude, Onyx, and... Yep, that's about it. Still, those three all did pretty well for themselves. You obviously don't remember the show very much. Stop relying on childhood memories, Misty was the least active female lead of the series and she spent the majority of her run doing nothing but clutching Togepi in the backgrond.
The few times we see Misty battle in the series its either to watch her fail with her Psyduck or come up with some mediocre battle where she generally loses. Misty bombed almost all her battles in Kanto and she only has a few decent battles towards the end of Johto.
This is on top of the fact that Misty's team mostly considered of pathetically weak and underdeveloped pokemon. Half her team couldn't even battle properly like Psyduck, Horsea, Goldeen, Togepi unless under certain conditions.
Misty might quite possibly be one of the worst battlers among all of Ash's friends, excluding Tracey/Max of course.
Can anyone make a list of all the Pokemon league episodes of all regions?

No, because I'm fucking perfect and never failMay's personality was all over the place from my perspective and wasn't interesting without her rivals to bounce off of her, and Dawn's development stopped right after the Wallace Cup and was pretty shallow and unendearing before that.
So as not to treat Ash like an idiot? If it's a Pokemon Ash has seen before and the companion hasn't, let him do the explaining.
So what? What does that have to do with comparing number of captured Pokemon? Red is the protagonist of the original games, he is the player, he most assuredly caught more Pokemon than Ash.
Man the beggining of Johto was so exciting with all that supernatural/mythological stuff, amazing.
Speaking of which, I was at a bar the other night and they just happened to be playing an old Pokemon episode on one of the TVs. The one where Ash meets that Samurai and his Metapod evolves into a Butterfree.
He's not a loser because he always loses the League battles.
He's not a loser because he starts over with weak ass pokemon every new region.
He's not a loser because he almost never catches new pokemon.
He's a loser because Misty wanted to tap that and he never made a move. I'd be all over that shit in a heartbeat.
A bar serving hard liqour for grown ass adults playing Pokemon episodes.
Now I've heard everything.
Honestly can't believe how people are resistant to the changes. Most people really are nostalgia filled too, when you actrually look back, Misty barely did anything. As soon as she got Togepi, much of her personality went out the window barring the occasional episode.
I never did understand why Misty hardly battled in the series. Apparently she was a Gym leader yet she made no effort to battle or train her Pokemon?
The mere fact that the writers had her constantly rely on Psyduck to save herself in most situations shows her lack of battle skills.
What about X & Y? Just curious.Man, I'd buy a 3DS so fast. The last one I played was Black and White (which was the most fun I've had since Sapphire/Ruby/Emerald).
Found the picture that was refered before, the one with Brock as a wizard.
Why do they always draw May with a huge chest? Are they big in the show?

They milk the show. If Ash ever truly progressed, the show would begin to end, and thus, they wouldn't be able to milk it anymore.
Unless ash has a son/daughter who inherits pikachuYou lose Ash, you lose Pikachu.
What? A new character can have a Pikachu outside it's ball? It's not the same.
He's eternally 10.Unless ash has a son/daughter who inherits pikachu
If Red reappears with a Raichu, I would respect gamefreak so much.

DId this picture get updated? i want to see what happen to them in 2013 lol
Oh wow, Pokemon fans have shit taste. Arceus is ugly and they just like it because it's "God".Raichu is so hideous though... :/ Plus Pikachu is sort of the 'face' of the Pokemon brand even though a recent poll had him trailing behind Arceus (no.1), Deoxys, and Darkrai.

For what it's worth, the conditions of the poll was that the winner would get a dream world distribution, which I'd imagine is the reason why three incredibly rare Pokemon were in the top three. In any other situation, the face of the franchise would probably emerge predictably victorious.Raichu is so hideous though... :/ Plus Pikachu is sort of the 'face' of the Pokemon brand even though a recent poll had him trailing behind Arceus (no.1), Deoxys, and Darkrai.

all this talk about pikachu made me google riachu and it's still fat. Seems the weight loss treatment was only for the mascot.

Whoa, in that last panel...did Pikachu die?
Have they ever had an episode that dealt with a Pokemon previously featured on the show passing away in another episode?
I don't think that Pokemon who are featured ever 'die'.... apparently the only actual death to ever occur on screen . Most others get revived.
In the games, the Champion in BW (Alder) had a Larvesta/Volcarona that died of illness when he was a young trainer and trained recklessly.
If they ever decide to do a "Champion League" arc in the anime, it'd probably be incredibly epic. Though it'd likely also be the final season too... :/
What would he need the Pokedex data for if he's already seen the Pokemon? Whenever it happens, how little it happens, it's just a more bad writing in a show full of it. Aim for the horn, thunder armor, sprinkler system, etc.But for the most part he only brings up the Pokedex on Pokemon he hasn't seen or scanned, and there's that "Pokedex data isn't carried" crap. It is annoying, but it doesn't maek him an idiot.
And yet people compare the "Red" based on the Johto guy who was easily beaten. The Captured Pokemon is a flimsy excuse when they all resort to video game actions that rarely match. For instance, Red didn't really "take down" Rocket - Ethan did.
Ohhhhh, you're talking about his appearance in Gold and Silver. Let me tell you, I did not have an easy time besting him in the originals or hgss, lol

I am watching the Kanto festival episode for Adventures in Unova, and Ash uses the Pokedex on a Charmander.
:/
It's pretty cool how they reanimated the flashbacks though.
