Xenoblade Chronicles is now $90 [pre-owned] at Gamestop

I'm sorry, why is this worth so much? It's not like we're talking about Chrono Trigger here.

hmmm... this is a slippery slope.

Is it AS GREAT as Chrono Trigger? Probably depends on who you are talking to.

Is it among THE BEST of RPGs released during its generation (like Chrono Trigger)? I would say by most accounts almost definitely.

Chronotrigger is on 6 platforms including iOS (nullifying its rare status) I hate that my Snes complete copy of Chrono Trigger has depreciated in value

Xenoblade had an extremely limited number of copies for 1 platform

What's the point of this with digital stores becoming commonplace? Nintendo isn't even making money off of these crazy resale prices, just get the game up on the eShop.

This whole "ultra rare game that you can only find for $100 through the black market after donating your liver to some shady backstreet surgeon" stuff hasn't been cool since the 90s.

Crap, a Gamestop has a copy about 50 miles from me. It's not worth the trip and $90, right guys?

... Right?

call ahead and see if its actually there and in decent condition, not worth an hour drive for a fugly disc IMO

is a great game too and pretty, without the dolphin help!

Your common sense tells me that you might be qualified to run Nintendo more than whoever the hell runs NOA now

Love how something i bought just nearly doubled in value. If I knew better, i should have bought two and never opened one.

Just did an eBay search on what I could fetch for mine sealed.

A UK dude has 10 sealed for 40 pound, jump on it UKGafers

Use the birthday coupon.

Otherwise, you should have bought it when it was released. I double dipped on the EU version and the US version and it was one of the most worthwhile games this gen.

I'll agree with that for sure, but the competition in the JRPG world isn't even a fraction of what it was on previous generations. Brawly and Alco say there was a limited release, which makes sense. I still don't think I'd put it anywhere near what the JRPG world used to be, though. I do need to give it more of a chance, however, so maybe it's better than what I experienced.

You're right. One game is very good and the other is Chrono Trigger.

lol, hilarious.

I didn't play the Wii much this generation and considered it a waste of money....until Xenoblade. Obviously my opinion, but it is the best RPG I have played in the last decade, Japanese or Western and I mainly play RPGs. It does everything right, it takes me back to Japan's finest moments in gaming, I really found it that good.

So if I hadn't played it and had to pay 90 to get it, I would have. Even though that price is outrageous. But I think it's more than worth it if you're even remotely into RPGs. Not to mention that since it's such a rarity, you can like sell it for the same price or higher, so the risk should be minimal.

you guys know gamefly has the game at medium availability

just rent it and buy it from them

Seriously considering this. My first month would be $5.95, but I can't find what the game would cost after that if I decide to "keep" it.

edit: Scratch that, it says "Not for sale." That's fucking great, tell me AFTER I sign up.

The hell is VGA and what does graded do?

VGA is a website you can get sealed games graded. The pack I sent in was named Uncirculated because they were in a sealed cases straight from the factory. The higher the grade the higher they will resale for, I sent in 4 to get graded and plan to keep the highest graded copy and part ways with the other three copies.

Not sure when X is coming out, but I'd be a great time for NoA to do an HD Xenoblade remaster with X demo or something in the lead up.

I feel that Xenoblade will be the "chrono trigger" of this generation in terms of well recieved and always recommended in best rpgs of this generation.

Funny that Xenoblade is made by some of the people who worked on chrono trigger. Square really is upset to let that kind of golden team to go away back during the PS2 era.

Was lucky to pick up a PAL copy for 17$ at a local store that was clearing out stock. I still hope they make a HD version though.

I have my sealed copy sitting in my closet, ever waiting on demand to reach Earthbound levels.

Then it'll pay for my GPU upgrade :p

How do I make this game look good on my HDTV? I tried Wii component cables and it almost looks worse. I feel like I'm being forced to play through an emulator which I don't want to do

The games are absolutely ace, the sales are not. I think even Aliens Colonial Marines did better than Xenoblade for example. Square-Enix won't care much quite frankly.

The Wii U does a good job of upscaling Wii games to whatever resolution your TV is set at, but that obviously doesn't help anyone without a Wii U.

I paid good money for this Dynex!

Well, it's not difficult to do better than Xenoblade when the game was released at one retailer, after the Wii was basically dead, and with absolutely no promotion outside of the Operation Rainfall hoopla.
