Halo 2 coming to iOS?

What exactly is this RTX thing? A friend mentioned it last night when we were playing Halo 3, and I heard about it through Devolver Digital, is it big enough for such an announcement to be made?

The Pit has to be one of the poorer choices to remake given there's a nigh-pixel perfect Forge version that someone has made. Just make a nostalgia playlist using community maps.

Stream sounds hopefully considering they mentioned switching to the Xbox input, but I doubt we'll see a Steam release



I assume these guys are all 343 employees or are they're some CA employees there as well? Anyone who isn't related (out source port?)

They've done all of the other Map Packs I believe, so it's not at all surprising.

I doubt they'd demo the Steam stuff. And no, Two 343 people, Gus from Rooster Teeth, and a very tired sounding Certain Affinity person.

Zanzibar mentioned, Seem to be mentioning a lot of the older maps this time, this map appears to be a spiritual successor or at least some sort of inspiration.


Gives me hope since it shows they haven't forgot the old maps at least

Yeah, I wish he was a bit more lively, not sure why they aren't showing off the maps as well rather than focusing a camera on him

Seems they don't have direct feed on the Rooster Teeth feed for whatever reason. They're showing it on Twitch though.

Yeah, this really didn't make sense as a venue for that announcement from the beginning. Outside of the vaguely worded panel description, and the deadline on Halo 2 servers, Rooster Teeth would be a pretty weird fit for that announcement, being so Xbox focused. Would have been neat, but I'm sure we'll hear about it sooner than later.

Not really. Rooster Teeth made their company around making videos in Halo multiplayer maps, with specific armor sets that are in this pack, so it makes complete sense.

They just asked the first legitimate question, which would be about Spartan Ops Season 2.

That was about 10 questions in.

The other panels at RTX had good Q&A sessions, I guess it's something about Halo panels that just have bad Q&A's.

Admittedly I only watched the Achievement Hunter panel, but it was one of the most uncomfortable Q&A's I've seen in a long time. Just person after person trying to do their own funny bits.

They've confirmed no season 2 several times already. A question about Halo for Steam wouldn't get you a proper answer, but I think asking about Halo 2V's imminent death could get you at least some info about that and possibly more.

That was a letdown, but honestly, I don't know why I was expecting anything more than Halo 4 news. The conference had "Halo 4 Summer 2013" in its title, after all. :(

What the hell, it's already July and there's been zero info about Halo 1-3 re-release on Steam or the deal with Halo 2 PC servers, what the hell MS/343? Why so secretive? If these games were to come out, it would have to be pretty imminent (i.e. within the next few months), correct?

Well releasing a game on Steam during July would be a bad idea.

The Summer Sale starts next week, and any full price game would be swept under the rug in favor of games with massive discounts.

August would be the best time to release a game. In fact, there are no releases planned from July 10th-25th, +/- a few days. That is the length of the sale.

Even with that being the case, August is only a month away, would it really hurt to announce the existence of these ports today? Just getting annoyed at all the secrecy is all, lol.

I'm hoping I can redeem my retail keys

Please let this be true. I've tried playing the Halo games on Xbox but I just can't play FPS games with a controller for shit. Give me that KB+M goodness.

Any info on Reach making its way to PC?
