iirc at first they said Vita focused but then said PS4 show. so I dunno what is going on.

Let's be brutally honest here: Gamescom is the last big show where Sony will be able to do a flashy press conference before the PS4's launch. (excluding TGS because it's Japanese focused.
I know, shoot me.
) If you are expecting a "Vita focused" presser then, well, just don't expect that.

With bioshock infinite post release DLC being worked on and Ken Levine now focusing on his script for Logans run, Bioshock vita is never going to happen

ever

seriously get over it and move on to other things

Vita seems to be treading water in Japan.

The writing is on the wall in other regions, sadly.

Brush up on your Japanese and be grateful for region free, is my advice.

And if it does happen it will be a rushed crap product that may as well not exist.

What in the world has Shahid been doing? We've honestly been waiting months for the announcement of one goddamn game. He seems terribly incompetent at his job as far as the Vita is concerned.

Let the man do his damn job. He obviously must be very busy trying to get stuff ready for Gamescom. He doesn't have time to entertain the whining of forum goers.

He's been doing great at getting indies into Vita, which is a good thing since the indies are happy, AND a good thing for Vita since apparently the games are making a profit.

I'm thinking he has been pretty good at his job.

I don't think it's Shahid's job to announce these things. He courts devs/games but when it can be announced would be up to the higher ups no?

I'm not complaining that the game hasn't been announced yet. I'm complaining that we're looking forward to one game and before and beyond that the release schedule is dry. The Vita has been out for a while now and he's hardly been able court any decent indie developers for exclusives. You know you're not good at your job when you're responsible for courting devs and the end result is what we have on the Vita right now.

We don't get a 'procured by Shahid' section on the store, so I'm not sure how you're assessing which titles he has courted.

As an aside, how easy do you think it is to secure support for the Vita?

I'm sure Shahid isn't the only person responsible for procuring Vita exclusives. The point is that there are so few of them that the entire team should be taken to task.

The Vita situation right now stinks of incompetence. People aren't buying it because there are hardly any games on it. The guys responsible for getting those games on the system can't in turn say "The system isn't selling so how are we supposed to get games on it?" It was their initial failing that led up to this point.

I don't think it's easy securing games for any new hardware. There's always a certain level of uncertainty and you start from zero sales. But you have to start from somewhere and it just seems to me that Sony rushed to make the hardware without giving a second thought as to their strategy for building up the games library.

Ah, if you're railing against Sony as a whole for the treatment of the Vita, I'm right behind ya. They've thrown it out there with the bare minimum of necessary support and now it's floundering so badly as to be unable to secure any further support. It was a product always facing an uphill struggle, and they've done nothing to make it easier.

Shahid though, seems to do what he can. He's been given a broken gun with no ammo and now he needs to use it to beat people to death.

Christ, that is what getting developers for the Vita is like . . .

Tou can tell that things are bad if we have a tease for an amazing big title on the Vita more than three months ago without any big title announced in those three months (most likely the big title has been cancelled or is on iOS or 3DS or wherever now (see Bioshock)).

And this thread is not on how good or bad Shahid is about getting indie support (most likely good for what he has to work with, Sony does not money hat so he cannot buy support with money) but about his ridiculous tweet just before E3 (when E3 turned to be a "Vita? What is a Vita?" Sony show). Now we have gamescom and I expect a repeat (i.e. nothing spectacular for the Vita).

Sony should bring GT on the Vita (the PSP version is above 4million now and still selling). That is a Sony property and if they cannot bring a Sony property to the Vita, why should anyone else?

P.S.
I am looking forward to Dragon's Crown and Tearaway and perhaps even the Batman game and I buy indies. But I would like to see the same support the PSP got and we are far away from that, Sony needs to sell more systems for that.

It'd be very disappointing if we don't hear about this Vita game at gamescom...

As long as they show just 1!, just 1!, AAA Vita game, I'll be happy...(If its something I like, even better, ha ha)

Could it be a kind of Borderlands 2 spin-off ? I know the port is coming but it could be an exclusive title using the same map or whatever

Ah that'd be so awesome!
I got into Borderlands lately, I'd love it on Vita, though I think Borderlands is a game much much much much better with friends, dont know too many people with a vita, ha ha.

I think my dream titles to come to Vita are:...
Bioshock (We know they want to to do it, but seems they arent fully committed to it yet)
GTA Vita
MGS Vita
Something FF related...
KH Vita (Probably wont be due for a long time if ever though)
Borderlands Vita

Why do we do this to ourselves? :D

It'd be funny if Rockstar made something for Vita to make up for Agent or something so I like the post above about GTA V Stories.

On the contrary, I get the feeling he's actually good at his job, which I believe is signing up indies to bring their games to Vita. However, clearly it was a bit too soon to tease whatever game this is, and thus the excitement a lot of us showed initially has turned to annoyance.
