Oh man... don't even joke about something like that.
:( I know.
I'd be ok with this.
WHY? MP IS FUN!

Pretty much what I'm expecting at this point, especially after the remake.
Yep, CEA set that expectancy for me for Halo 3
I dont think they will be doing it if this happens.
While I'm expecting it for Halo 1 & 2 (since they already had mp to begin with), I don't trust 343 to be willing to put in the time to get mp for Halo 3 working on PC or not alter it any way. I'd loved to be proved wrong, all in all I'm excited but I don't want to get myself too excited.

Maybe Halo 3 will pop up on games for gold the same month they release on PC with cross platform multiplayer!

.....ok maybe not, but damn just release on PC already!

I don't have faith in Halos coming to Steam. Gamescom was just a week ago where MS could've announced this. I guess there's still PAX starting this friday, but if they don't annoucne this there then I don't think they are coming to Steam this year or ever.

Never owned an Xbox so would be pretty swell if Halos were released on Steam. They look pretty nice.

I would never expect Microsoft to play a fanfare on a PC port (or re-release) of Halo, anyway.
Big shows for them are all about the Xbox brand.

Just to clear up the recent Halo updates:

I'm going to answer the Halo related package updates. We ran a full update yesterday, and this caused many packages to update at same time, because Valve marked them as developer packages (DevComp), so it hides real package name and they appear as "Steam Sub %%%%". Some changes can be seen on the history page.

TL;DR: Valve's responsible for updating these packages, not developers. Halo was dead, still is.

so, still nothing :(

Considering that Halo is Microsofts biggest ip I'd think they would do at least some kind of announcement at a show.

^ I guess people got too excited too early again.

I think ms released halo 1 and 2 (xbox) on pc to push pc players towards xbox 360 (so they can play the new halo 3).

So they will release halo 3 on pc to push pc players to buy xbox one to play the new halo.

If Halo's 1-3 came out on PC I'd be so happy. It'd be great! I'd finally feel good about leaving my 360 in the dust.
bad it probably won't happen though, and probably precisely for that reason.

Halo 1 and 2 are already on PC, actually. All they would need is a new release.
