Halo |OT18| We're Back Baby!

I had an idea on how to streamline the whole multi-gametype solution. It's not the best solution in the world, but with the way things are going it seems like the only way to handle it.

Split up the voting into two sections for every playlist save for weird things like Action Sack and Grifball. First vote is the same as before, map and gametype combination.

Second vote is playstyle. Three options:

RANKED (what Legendary BRs is now. No Sprint, increased movement speed, no motion tracker, no AAs or perks.)

TEAM (Middle ground. BR, Carbine and Light Rifle loadouts. Everyone has Sprint and slightly reduced speed, motion tracker is Allies Only. No AAs.)

SOCIAL (Three loadouts. BR / Sprint, Carbine / Thruster and LR / Double Jump. Team Slayer speed, fully functional motion tracker, no perks.)

Bring back the EXP system too. Ranked wins offer 2 EXP and contribute to CSR with 2x priority. Team wins offer 1 EXP and CSR with standard priority. Social offers no EXP on wins and does not affect CSR.

This also eliminates the need for extra, duplicate playlists such as Social Slayer / Team Slayer, etc.

Same with Halo 2 to Halo 3, with not being able to lower your weapon over Live (Yes i know it lead to being exploited, which was the case for most of Halo 2, I'll leave it to you guys to decide whether the tricks helped or hindered the gameplay.), they ended up fixing most of the other exploits, which i imagine could be the case for lowering weapons (Fyre probably knows if this is feasable or not).

They can do it, since it works over LAN and that's 99% the same netcode LIVE uses. All they did was essentially blacklist it from working if you were playing over LIVE in any fashion. IE, if you're both playing on a LAN but both connected to LIVE, you can lower weapons. If you want to add LIVE players to your game, you have to go out and switch the lobby to Xbox Live mode, and now lowering no longer works.

Bungie was just really paranoid about animation exploits, and after BXR, probably for a good reason.

AGH CAMPERS ARE DUMB WHY IS THERE AN ACHIEVEMENT FOR IT.

9/10 - Player 8 grabs sniper rifle. Player 8 finds hiding spot. Player 8 camps for achievement. Team loses due to lack of long range support.

I think an easy way to solve keeping from worrying about it being exploited, is have as a custom game option, and if you want it on, you can turn it on and you recognize "the risks" of having it on.

Not like that would help anyway since 343 fucked up the ability to have your weapon lowered while walking, i'm guessing they didn't have an animation for that.

This is an actual achievement designed by 343
Fuck, that achievement makes me depressed.

The only good thing about the Infinity Slayer playlist in Slayer Pro.

You guys don't understand the Pitchin' a Tent achievement.

It's a nod to oldschool devoted Halo fans. Their controllers are obviously old so the left analogue is always moving which means you can't just stand still.

First of all you have to know the maps to make sure you find a spot where the enemy won't find you and then you have to stay there, holding the analogue for a full 60 seconds to make sure the spartan won't move by accident. That's called DEDICATION.

Don't mock what you don't understand.

Ahhh, yes I see.
Basically, they are rewarding map knowledge/control and strategic movement... and here we are complaining about it, classic HaloGAF!

All the while listing to your teammates scream because one of their teammates is no where to be found as they get slaughtered.

Its a tough goal to achieve.

How could I have been so stupid.

True, but it's extra work for a feature <0.5% of the userbase uses. In today's publically traded companies, those features are hard to get budget for.

What would be more useful in my mind is to take saved films to the next evolution they need with these features:

- Being able to edit a film (recent CoDs let you do this). Being able to record 20 minutes of gameplay, then edit it into 8 minutes with the content cut down.
- Being able to force camera position with each cut.
- Being able to script the camera in films. Ideally you would be able to control it like usual, but with the game running at reduced speed. The movements would be played back at normal speed.
- Being able to change a player's armor/appearance post-recording. Change any aspect of their armor or emblem. You can technically already do this in the engine via modding films, they just need to expose the data via UI.

- Allow post effects like depth of field or overlaid visual effects like negative, flash, old-timey, juicy, certain lense distortions, etc. Depth of field is the big one.

Even with that few new features, you've already massively expanded the toolset for machinimators, let alone people that want to put together montages.

edit: Forge should also finally let you officially place dummy Spartans (Elites if they return to Multi) and dead bodies.

I would love to see those features get included, but even then, the amount of people that use Theater to actually make content is probably about....... let's say 5% of the population, and that is being generous, so I doubt that we'll get any new features for theater, besides being to capture footage.

Forge should let us edit AI and stuff too. Add terrain editing to that and we could pretty much make our own Firefight/Spartan Ops/Campaign missions.
Project Spark feature set in Halo?

343 can have all of my monies/orgasms/family.

True, they need to bring back Firefight and expand the Forge setup to that too. Need to come up with a way to automatically re-generate the AI pathing for forged objects.

At minimum in the Reach context, being able to adjust where generators, weapon drops (or what's in them) and where phantoms/tuning forks drop covies off would have been really helpful. And adding softkills of course.

I found this after googling 'Mixmasterchief' for ideas.
