PokéBOMB XI: Transferring and Mega Starters Revealed!

In hindsight Venusaur looks like a good waller with Thick Fat.

Motor Drive's great. But this new ability sounds cool. I guess it power ups Hydro Pump and Cannnon too.

Nah, specifically pulse moves.

According to the site, Mega Charizard's Special Attack is boosted, so with Drought it's basically like having Solar Power without the HP loss per turn.

Eh, I guess. Still, it's pretty much a crappy Sun setter.

We still don't know if changing takes high priority or occurs during your turn though. Either way, because Zard's typing isn't changed, he still gets screwed with rock slide or stone edge.

This is why Ninetales, even a shitty Pokemon, is considered the best Sun lead. Doesn't die quickly to stones.

Zard however works with Solar Power, by boosting its SAtk.

We don't know if it's priority based or Pokemon-based. I imagine Mega Mawile will be screwed like that if that's the case still.

To get your Pokémon to Mega Evolve, you can select a button when picking the move and then select a move. The Pokémon will both evolve and attack in that turn. You may only have one Mega Evolution in a battle.

Wait, on the other hand, cloud service allows you to keep your pokemon and start a new save. Hmm.

Edit : Unless they're tied to your savefile for some reason because of the Trainer ID -_-...

So instead of spending $90 on a used second 3DS I can just hook up with Pokemon Bank and move Pokemon around that way - awesome, this thing paid for itself.

Uhhh. Wow.

So apparently Bank is going to be SOLD for 500 yen on December 25th (!). And then on top of that there's the annual fee. Uh oh.

edit: or not

The original 3rd evolutions look better than the megas and Blastoise Mega Launcher ability sounds like crap. Looks like i'm not using any megas

Idk if its in the final game but in the Gamescom demo, mega evo was a free move and allowed you to still take a turn after changing.

No, Ninetales is considered the best sun lead because it and Vulpix are the only Pokemon with Drought that aren't banned to ubers. It's pretty obvious that you need Drought to use sun effectively, no matter how shitty Ninetales is. Charizard is far more useful in battle than Ninetales and you shouldn't have rocks on the field with a sun team anyway.

The only way I see Zard not replacing Ninetales the majority of the time is if Drought doesn't work upon mega-evolution and you have to switch in.

Also, Thick fat is great; it's insurance to keep Venusaur more useful if you lose the weather war.

Is the Bank mostly for veterans? Or is it also useful for those new to the series. I'm thinking about jumping in for the hell of it :D

You guys missed my point.

I know you can transform and attack (hell, it seems you need to attack to transform). However, I am talking about priority and speed. Priority refers to which moves take precedence outside of speed, and Speed refers to which Pokemon will move first assuming both attacks are of the same priority.

Like say, Mawile vs any faster Pokemon. Will Mawile transform first before the enemy attacks (meaning transforming has high priority) or will the enemy attack first before Mawile will transform (it is based on Mawile's speed)?

Since the demo uses Mewtwo for Mega evolution and it is essentially faster than Crobat, Chandelure and Dragonite, we didn't see if it's priority based or speed based.

Really...? Only Water Pulse, Dark Pulse and Dragon Pulse...?

There's Heal Pulse too.

Maybe it'd count Aura Sphere too.

Yeah I was thinking Venusaur as a full attacker than a wall. Wallsaur with TF is great.

Still I remain with my point for Zard vs 9tails. Ninetails is actually far more useful because it can learn moves beyond Fire type for coverage and has a bulky defense. I can't say the same for glass cannon zard.

Mega Venasaur looks like the most useful.

Whoever it is that is responsible for still no dragon Charizard can be expecting a quick but vicious blow to the balls.

Hang on, december 25th? So we can't bring pokemon across from previous games for two months after launch?

Actually I think Venusaur with a held item will still be the better choice for sun teams, since chlorophyll (sp?) and the fact Megasaur doesn't get increased offenses.

I think it'll be a more tank-y pokémon that's used regardless of weather.

Well, based on what I like I'd get Charmander, Torchic and Fennekin... I think I'll go for Squirtle, Fennekin(maybe) and Torchic then...

Well I'm going Chespin - Squirtle - Torchic.

Just as Arceus intended.

BIIIIIIIIIRD GO!
So wait you can only transfer Pokemon from B/W 1 and 2? No DP HG SS?

You move those to BW/BW2 first, since BW/BW2 has a transfer.

All I want to know is if Poké Transporter will fix the ALL CAPS Pokémon names from monsters transferred from Gen IV and III to Gen V.

Those names really mess with my OCD :p

I hope my X/Y mons don't disappear when I delete that save file. I may scum may way through the early game 3 times for all three starters from Gen 1 and 6.

I am not sure where people are getting the fee for pokemon transfer from as the text from the site here : http://www.pokemonxy.com/en-us/strategy/ says its a free companion app for your 3ds .

Top paragraph:
Pokémon Bank is an application and service for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y that will allow you to deposit, store, and manage your Pokémon in private Boxes on the Internet! Pokémon Bank is a paid service, with an annual charge for usage.

Wait, so Pokémons can be stored as information on the internet, in your name... as a form of account?

They have solved it!?

This makes me EXTREMELY excited. I'd love to be able to start my Black 2 over as a Nuzlocke, but I've already transferred a lot of my Pokemon over from the original Black. It'll take forever to move them all back.

With Pokemon Bank, I can just chuck all my Pokes in the cloud and restart whenever I want to!

Edit : Unless they're tied to your savefile for some reason because of the Trainer ID -_-...

I can't see this happening. Unless they give you a way to create your own Trainer ID (To match your previous one) in future games, that would be counter-productive.

It'll probably just be an account system of some kind. You create a Pokemon Bank account, and register each of your games to said account.

Shit... I have to beat BW if I want to bring my Gen 3/4 Pokemon to XY. lol

Guess I'll try to finally beat the damn game.

I was half waiting for them to announce an account system along with this...those must be the more details they'll announce later.

What was the previous size/number of boxes in Black/White 2? Really hoping they don't remove boxes to force people into using the Bank.

I was always comfortable with the given boxes in Silver/Sapphire/Diamond.
