I disagree with this. Previous games give the impression that she is wearing pseudo-clothing (look at the foot structure). H4 dispenses with that entirely and flat out implies nudity, as well as ridiculously ramping up that aspect of her appearance.
Now on the other hand, the H3 model seems like a fitting graphical extension of previous models.

I guess so, and I'm sure they were fully aware of what they were doing, but it's still a natural evolution.
For the record, I don't think I care either way, if Kojima wants to sexy up the characters in his game then that's his call, it just looks ridiculous to me.

I very much doubt Ellis had a role to play in the cortana design he is a mission designer.
That said its incredibly hypocritical of him to comment when his studio has a naked blue AI as the main companion.

I mean, the MGS5 design is pretty dumb considering the tone of the game thus far, and the locations we've seen. It's just eye candy for the sake of it and stuck out like a sore thumb in what was a pretty self serious and dramatic E3 trailer.

I'm fine with her in 4, and I was fine with her in 3, but the thing is - maybe it's the haircut or something, but whenever I see a screenshot of her Halo 3 model posted, she has that white middle-aged mulletted housewife look going. I don't like generalizing or using the term trailer trash, but... Yeah.
Again, she looked alright when I was playing the game.

What's funny is Kojima is at least being honest in this matter, and yet BigFun is calling him the manbaby. Doesn't surprise me, though, especially from someone who graduated into games developement via enthusiast press. I imagine hypocrisy-bordering-on-jingoism just comes naturally for him at this point.

There's nothing "worse" about it. In MGS there were always sexy ladies, it's like complaining there are Bond girls in James Bond movies. The Halo series changed devs and they could change the design if they wanted.
Has this guy ever played a MGS game? This is so fucking annoying, they are man babies themselves. Or is he also on the Anita Sarkeesian train?

Guys, David is a fellow poster here on GAF. I'm not saying that his comments aren't hypocritical considering he is attached to Halo 4, but this probably prevented him from making similar criticisms publicly towards the design of Cortana in that game. All I'm saying is let's stay away from personal attacks, please.

This is basically impossible, nobody is squeaky clean on any viewpoint. Focus on the message, not the person.
I think the idea is that if he wants to criticize overtly sexualized female designs in videogames he should start with his own game/colleagues. That's the braver thing to do and it would be holding his work he contributes to, to the same standard he is professing here.

If it's true that Cortana changes her appearance to make Chief subconciously care more for her ("wanting to protect her") then it's sad they never touch on that in the game.
But Kojima's gonna Kojima. I didn't raise an eyebrow about Quiet until he started talking about why he sexed her up. Kojima's always been sort of like Suda 51 and Tarantino in that the stuff they do is just so weird on all levels that it's hard to try and bring traditional values when comparing and complaining.
