I just expect updates on games already known to be in development. New stuff should go to TGS. The best I'm hoping for is that some games with undeclared platform will now become known to be bound for PS4.

Not anything clear. If you trust Verendus, he says there are two in the works. One is "hardcore" and is probably the rumored Demon's Souls 2 (which I personally think will be a King's Field game--same kind of idea, more differentiated name). It may possibly be revealed, since there's been noise about it for a while. If it's a true collaboration with From and not a Miyazaki-led SCEJ team, though, actual TGS would be more likely.
The second RPG is epic Final Fantasy style, and Verendus pointed to a later release date, possibly in 2015. I wouldn't expect to see this one at all.

FPS is not that hot in Japan, maybe action adventure fish is more likely.

Exciting times
I remember a lot of people, including Sony insiders, saying the same thing prior to E3 and that wasn't so exciting. If I remember correctly the only new stuff they showed was The Order which we knew about already and a bunch of indie games. Indies are great but don't exactly get fists pumping.
Somehow I think this event is going to be a repeat.
Looks like TLG is still going to be missing in action. Yoshida should be booed off stage.

I found the event very exciting! We finally saw the PS4 form factor. We saw the price it would be releasing at. We finally saw FFXV and SE finally starting development on KH3 (which subsequently made the Internet fall apart). We saw Infamous Second Son running for the first time on hardware. Transistor was easily the most fun I have had with an indie game in a very long time. Lastly we saw the first gameplay of Destiny which I wasn't a fan of but had others jaws on the ground.
E3 was a great show for Sony and a lot of other companies.
FFS, grow up.

So, new games to be revealed or not ? 8 am is early, I don't want to wake up to hear them talking about a launch date that doesn't apply to me
8am on a monday is early? My guess is there's gotta be at least a bit more than a JP launch date, otherwhise why bother having an english stream.

Uh, I see. You can always just copy the stream link now and watch when you woke up, I assume the conference will be available after the stream. If not on Ustream than probably on Youtube.
Honestly I think this conference is going to focused on introducing the Ps4 to the Japanese market officially. We might see some trickle announcements from JPN third party. Most of it will probably be rehash from E3 and Gamescom. Heck, we don't know how much it will cost in yen.
The only new info we will get it is maybe new OS details.

So tempted to stay up for this, but I have to wake up four hours after the event starts (6 AM EST) for classes.
If it turns out to be good, I'd hate myself for not watching it live, but if it turns out to be not so good, I'd hate myself for staying up...

Just go on a blackout till you come back from your classes. Sony always uploads this stuff on their youtube pretty quickly. I missed gamescon live and just watched it on youtube 4 hours later.

GC was fucking great (I was there). Rime, a new Velocity, KZ MP looked superb in the flesh, new trailer for inFamous was great and Resogun was all kinds of awesome!
I know some people are only interested in AAA titles, but I love the diversity that Sony has on display.

I'm hoping for one more launch title to be announced (something aimed more at the Japanese market) and then the price and release date in Japan.
That's all the conference will contain I think.
Also my guess is that the Japanese launch title will be Deep Down (it's playable at TGS).
