Not quite liking that clusterfuck of squares in the options there. Overall though, I really like the multitasking and overall speed both Xbox One and PS4 seem to have with their OS. Single biggest issue with current consoles is how long it takes to accomplish simple things.

How do you know it's not a controlled leak? Showed off a bit of multitasking and then the intro of Ryse which we've already seen (used to demonstrate the speed of multitasking).

We didn't really see anything Microsoft wouldn't want us to see or that makes their system look bad.

Oh god, you might be thinking too hard about it, what's more likely? Btw. which gaffer is this:

PS4 UI looks better, imo. (In before calling out my user name)

I don't get it. How did he get this thing? Devkit cost a lot more than retail units and there's no way he could just have walked outside of a studio with one in his arms.

No ads! The games you own don't seem to be burried in sub-menus! Hallelujah! I kind of wish they dropped the Windows 8 coloring of the tiles though, go for something slicker like black.

Is it a good idea for it to keep playing after you try and multitask out of it?
Depending on what other things you can do with the console, I think it could be quite useful. I'm mainly thinking of long loading times, or multiplayer lobbies where you're waiting for the next round.
Maybe even a Fighting Game lobby where it isn't your turn for awhile.

I think people forget that Microsoft actually updates the 360 dash often, it looks somewhat similar since the last revamp wasn't that long ago as compared to Sony who have used the XMB for 7 years now.

Looks nice though, given it's Metro all the tiles will be movable, can change the size, etc. The multi-tasking looked great and fast as well, interested to see if the pause is still developer chosen or if all games will continue to run during the home out.

Why would there be ads pre-launch? There will be ads.

Ugh. I have to look at this metro crap for a whole new generation. Lovely...

At least the switching is fast... until this thing gets bloated with ads. Sigh. I hope you can at least customize this interface more than you could with the 360's.

Well, he did show that you can pause the game. It just doesn't happen by default right now. So apparently in it's current state you're going to have to manually pause the app then go to the dash if you want it to tombstone the current application running whether it's a game, music, ect.

I would hope that you could change the colors of the tiles (Bright green :p). But yeah the load times are pretty quick due to what I think is the pause anytime feature.

What does Microsoft have against lists? It would be so much faster to navigate a list with a rapid scrolling speed than futz around with those awkward tiles.

I love that it minimizes the playing game so you can multitask or do something else if you're having to watch an unskippable cutscene.
Was that an unskippable cutscene?

Anyways it is nice to have that option if you can switch to it instantly without habing to nabigate through the tiles.

And why did he show his face?
