It will be interesting to see the difference between the PS3/360 versions compared to the One & PS4 versions.

That will get to show us how much has actually been done for the new consoles.

No surprise after Scott Lowe's PS4 BF4 impressions. I don't know why it would be a surprise at all. DICE build this game for high end PCs and then EA has them fart out a lazy port for some console cash. More of the same next gen it seems.

Eb Games conference is suppose to have 100+ xb1's playable. So they will have the space and consoles. If BF4 is still 16v16, then I'd be worried we will never see 64 total.

Counter knifing shouldn't exist. It should only block/parry at best. Knifing means you had the upper hand. It shouldn't mean that the other guy gets a chance to kill you.

So basically knives are no longer a weapon in BF4. Totally useless.

But it also depends on the mode, Obliteration mode is capped at 16v16 on next gen.

In 7 1/2 weeks we will know if all the bragging DICE does about Frostbite 3 and BF4 is true or not. The competition, CoD:Ghosts and KZ:SF, are going to be 1080p @ 60 fps (for multiplayer mode) on next gen consoles. If DICE can't reach that level, it will make the competition that much more entertaining

Technically, FB3 is going to be judged on the platform that can showcase it the best and that will be PC.

Also, the gameplay between a Battlefield game and CoD/KZ is so different that it will come down to what the consumer wants to play.

If console gamers bought games based on what they looked like, they'd be PC gamers

It's really weird that texture quality is such a problem on both consoles apparently with the amount of RAM both have inside them. :-/

Definitely looks underwhelming. Also a symptom of unoptimized code. Nobody should expect BF4 to push the new consoles hardware.

Lets all calm down and wait for release or Direct Feed footage, my guess from what I have seen very,very close to PC with some pop-ups, glitches, latest rumour was 900p (on PS4 atleast) still aiming for 1080p at launch!!

I'd so much rather get this game for my PC, but I want to play with friends, but I know it will look better and 64 player battles are tried and true on the PC. I'm worried why DICE hasn't shown any 64 player console battles yet. I played BF3 on PS3 and PC, and the PC version was just better on all aspects. Just sucked having to play with randoms all the time. I was hoping the PS4 version would bridge the gap a bit between PC and console, but the more I see, the more I think this isn't true.

I think the best looking games so far are not the ones you mentioned.
The fillrate bound 720p image that may be BF4 is not very surprising given their commitment to 60fps and maintaining pretty heavy shading.


And no, I can recognize good looking games... but do not cry faul imo when some games have trouble hitting 1080p given their effects or framerate. These consoles have to make concessions somewhere.
