I think I've made my peace with Greninja's design. So if it's real, it's no longer as bad (Binacle and Hawlucha though, ugh), and if it's not, then the real design might be better. And hey, I like precisely one of the Gen V starters so they're going to have to try really hard to top that disappointment.

Still on #TeamFennekin though.

That bugs me. The entire group gets the pokemon case from sycamore, why wouldn't at least one other starter be battled and why wouldn't they be shown in the pokedex? If it weren't for that detail I'd be absolutely convinced that Greninja was real.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, they may not have been far enough in the game to fight them, but the lack of a second starter still makes me a little bit suspicious.

That is the same thing that aroused my suspicions too... Any red blood leaker would know that Chespins3 is the holy grail for the prize money. Fennekin3 is a close second and despite froakies popularity I'm sure there is less anticipation for his final evo.

Knowing this I would have picked chespin from the jump knowing there is no information to counter my leak.. Why have there been no chespin3 leaks despite it being a major curiosity amongst posters....

It kinda smells.... Plus regardless of starters, I'm sure you fight all of them eventually so I know anyone playing the game has seen all 3 by now..

That's probably the biggest sticking point. It'd be foolish for anyone to make a call on it until we've seen at least 2 starters, either from multiple angles or multiple sources.

Isn't the Greninja leaker the same one that claimed that there were only 70 new Pokemon, based on the Pokedex listings of the legendaries? That'd mean he'd have the national Dex and legendaries, so he should be in the post game or close to it.

There isn't any clarity on that. Some people are claiming it is the same person, others say it isn't. I'm not sure about the situation.

It was just kind of a hit and run leak. I think it's a bit unreasonable to expect someone to sit there and leak the entire Pokedex. They just leaked what they wanted to leak.

HEY I'M GRUMP!
I'M NOT SO GRUMP!
AND WE'RE THE GAME GRUMPS!

I really can't tell if this is how Binacle's face actually looks due to the blur, but it's how I saw it at first when I still thought it was a pie Pokemon.

Also took me all day to realize it was "bi" + "barnacle", and not "bin" + "barnacle" and rhyming with pinnacle.

So I'm the only person who thinks it's weird that an Italian reviewer leaks a screenshot in english (when the game supports all languages) of a name that doesn't follow the same etymology as the previous two evolutions (frog+position) and instead switches frog (in french)+ninja?

Well, to be fair, every leak we've gotten has either used the English or Japanese names...we haven't got one that used another language. I guess English is the most common language the leaker chose one the most people could understand?

Also I'm pretty sure the Italian Version keeps the Pokemon's names the same.

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
I hope Greninja is real, because it's the only starter or evo I've seen that I've liked.

It's unclear but here's how I understand it ...

>Frog and hawk-thing gets posted on VP.
>Same person goes to Bulba-forum or Pokebeash (on of those 2 places) and post the other pics or w/e.
>People start passing the pic around /vp/.
>The guy who posted the non-vp pics on the other sites said nothing about 70 Pokemon or w/e, leading many to believe that the vp person was just taking the pics and slapping on fake bs.

Anyway, all this jive seems fake to me.

Yes you are: http://www.pokemonxy.com/it-it/pokemon/other_pokemon/

:p

A switch of origin language isn't substantial proof.

Yeah, I'm aware the English and Italian names are the same, that's why I said the SCREENSHOT is in English not Italian. It makes no sense

Why not? I've played Pokémon for 15 years in English, so even if they released it in my native language, I would still keep playing English. Preferences, dude.

That made me laugh. Thanks. xD If it's real, I know how I will name mine now. xD

You're not alone. We'll just have to wait and see at this point.

Or hope some reviewer is brave enough to post some more shit on /vp/

Not really. Its entirely possible that he just wanted to play in English... I'm from America and my first playthrough of X is going to be in Japanese.

The images were taken from a webcam so they came out backwards and had to be flipped so the text would be legible.
Actually, I'm not sure why that would be - I imagine that the majority of webcams would be able to take a picture without flipping it wrong, as if you're looking at a mirror.

For example, mine is pretty old, and it takes pictures just fine.

1. almost everybody plays games in english, especially enthusiasts.
2. if you are a pokemon fan you play in english anyway since the localised european version usually came out even later, meaning that you are more familiar with the us names.
3. the japanese names don't have anything french and have the ninja theme in all evos, also froakie kinda does a ninja pose.

it might be fake but none of your reasons are valid.

My webcam always used to be backwards when I used it. It happens.

Actually, the Pokemon names are the same in Italian and Spanish, so you wouldn't need to play the English version to know the English names.

No lie, I've been checking /vp/ on my phone every hour today between playing Wonderful 101.

Greninja seems weird to me. It loses Froakie and Frogadier's iconic nose bubbles and bubble scarf from what I can tell.

EDIT3425: But, it got the font for the A in Water right, whereas most fakers would probably have used the outdated A font from the Froakie pic on the official website...
