Thats a key point, we usually dont see this type of advantage especially by a 3rd party dev this early.
So can we all agree that cross platform titles have the advantage on PS4 (on launch)?

That's bullshit. The PC version does not "shit" on the PS4 version. They are remarkably close but that's not something you'll be able to determine from Youtube videos.Meanwhile:
- the PC version shits from great heights on the superior PS4 900p visual clarity
- Killzone: Shadowfall destroys BF4 visually
Think what you want, but facts are facts. You're talking about something subjective (which you feel "looks" worse).Regardless of numbers fallout 3 looked worse on the PS3 compared to the 360, then BF4 looks on X1 compared to the PS4 version.
I hope more people see my post, because seeing all the ignorant people is infuriating.
Makes my job easier
Thanks for all the laughs, folks
except for the like 50% more pixels and higher framerate lol...this really cant be stated enough....
PS4
- higher framerate
- 50%+ more pixels rendered
- better effects
- certain effects that are simply absent from the Xbone version
- better aliasing BY FAR
its doing all of those things while pushing significantly more pixels...thats A LOT of difference...
Goddamnit. The bone has an EVEN WORSE gamma curve problem. What the hell, that black crush is insane. If you shift the settings around you'll probably just end up crushing the whites. Gross.
Someone forgot to sign all the licensing agreements in case someone tried to snap back to the menu during capture, so they turned Live and the Cloud off.
Bit off topic, but does anyone know when the COD embargo lifts?
IGN is adamant about playing all review games in conditions that allow us to be thorough and confident in our criticism. On PC and current-gen consoles, I was able to play many hours of both the single-player and multiplayer, to the point where I was satisfied. That was not the case with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions, which were either not made fully available (Xbox One) or in a pre-launch state that did not allow me to experience Battlefield 4 in a way that felt comparable to what you will play when they launch, including frequent crashes and connectivity problems (PS4). To give a recommendation based on those conditions feels unfair to both the game and our readers, considering the platforms have yet to launch. So we're waiting until we can play this thing in the wild. These are problems we expect will be a non-issue when the next-gen machines launch, but better safe than sorry.
However, I can give you some impressions based on my time with the PlayStation 4 multiplayer and single-player. Purely from a gameplay perspective, I can say with confidence that Battlefield 4 on PlayStation 4 and PC are equally excellent. The two are visually comparable, with minor detail differences if youre really trying to pick it apart. The single-player and multiplayer look beautiful, and DualShock 4 is the best thing to happen to PlayStation in terms of first-person shooters. The analog sticks give you much more room for precise movements than the PS3's DualShock 3, whose sticks I've always felt are a bit clumsy. With aim/fire moved back to the redesigned L2/R2, youre now pulling a trigger rather than pushing a button. It just feels more natural than hooking my index fingers over the PS3 controllers bumpers. Ill probably use this controller to play PC games for the foreseeable future.

maybe they were not online so Azure cant help?
This probably shows the largest difference yet it's not in OP. C'mon Newman.
Journalists are not talking about CoD: Ghosts 720p resolution on Xbox One?, because Ghosts review embargo ends of November 5 for all platforms,
http://www.gamepur.com/news/12569-c...20p-xbox-one-claims-former-ign-journalis.html
Yes even PC players are having the same issues.I don't know if it was posted... I saw the video but not the article.
http://www.ign.com/blogs/mitchy_d/2013/10/28/wheres-the-xbox-one-or-ps4-battlefield-4-review
yes we do, they harmonised over time in the last gen
What I learnt in this thread form some people; increasing contrast suddenly makes a game look better.
Its pretty clear which is the superior version: the one with a better frame rate and higher resolution.
GG Xbone. Imagine the graphical disparity in exclusives 0_0
Not even close to the same.
- PS4 renders 56% more total pixels.
- Xbone renders at 720p (aka, same as the 360/PS3 versions)
- PS4 has anti-aliasing
- Xbone is missing motion blur in MP
- PS4 has HBAO (ambient occlusion)
- Even after all those advantages, PS4 runs at a higher framerate
This is damning enough evidence of the PS4 hardware superiority on a purely technical basis. Subjective statements such as, "I prefer the higher contrast of the Xbone" or "I like the edge sharpening effect" have no basis in objective, technical analysis when comparing the relative graphical capabilities of these two machines.
So it really is 360 vs PS3 reversed then.Yup, the difference is massive to the point its offensive to think the machine providing the poor quality is actually more expensive.
MS seem to have deluded themselves that their brand holds a price premium like Apple without ever actually being able to charge a price premium for any of their products.
Albert Penello said:People DO understand that Microsoft has some of the smartest graphics programmers IN THE WORLD. We CREATED DirectX, the standard APIs that everyone programs against. So while people laude Sony for their HW skills, do you really think we dont know how to build a system optimized for maximizing graphics for programmers? Seriously? There is no way were giving up a 30%+ advantage to Sony. And ANYONE who has seen both systems running could say there are great looking games on both systems. If there was really huge performance difference it would be obvious.
Isn't Gametrailers doing a PC vs PS4 comparison?
The difference is undistinguishable for the casual BestBuy/ Walmart/ Costco gamer.
According to Gies (I know..) it's Nov. 12th for X1.
There's already one at Eurogamer. The biggest difference seem to be shadow and texture quality and general IQ stuff (resolution, AA)
Smaller maps. Fewer players. No destruction. No vehicles. 1 platform.I am going to say this BF4 is doing more than Killzine but it is still very very impressive looking considering the scale of the SP.
Dont know how GG does it.
LMAO at all the people throwing around "black crush" like they're seasoned AV professionals when they've never even heard the term before tonight.
You don't know what FXAA is do you?
Switch to 1440p and full screen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0ycN0re_5A&feature=youtu.be&t=3m34s

How would you know?LMAO at all the people throwing around "black crush" like they're seasoned AV professionals when they've never even heard the term before tonight.
You really read nothing I posted.Smaller maps. Fewer players. No destruction. No vehicles. 1 platform.
And this is fine. You know, I trust all this because it's hard specs. I'm just wondering why I should ever trust DF again? For the past five or six years whenever a multiplat issue came up, I would read their stuff and take it as gospel. Now people are telling me DF doesn't matter, they screwed up their capture equipment, watch IGN videos, go look to Jack-what's it's name-site to get the real scoop? I mean obviously, the PS4 version of BF4 version has better specs, but what kind of crack were they smoking to post that comparison video?
For all those threads with 10 000 replies, all those banned users, all this month's craziness... this is it?!?
LOL
The difference is undistinguishable for the casual BestBuy/ Walmart/ Costco gamer. No wonder MS sat quiet on this issue - they knew no one except board warriors would give a shit. All those thuway, famousmortimer, TheKevinDent etc. leaks for this? Jesus... way overblown. I was expecting some 3Dfx vs non-3Dfx screens at least.
Meanwhile:

turn it (sharpness) all the way down
Of course they do. We've known that for months now.
If you want the best version of 3rd party multiplatform games, go out and buy yourself a PS4.
X1 has its value props in other places.
That's bullshit. The PC version does not "shit" on the PS4 version. They are remarkably close but that's not something you'll be able to determine from Youtube videos.
Also, Killzone runs at a much less consistent framerate than BF4.

I find it astounding that you think the PC version "shits on the PS4 version" because of what amounts to a slight reduction in resolution (1080 versus 900p). Yet the PS4 version has an even larger resolution advantage over the Xbone, PLUS it renders more effects, PLUS it runs at a higher framerate.
Yes, you can make an argument that NeoGAF predictions about the final difference were somewhat exaggerated. But let's not contradict ourselves here.
I agree that the PS4 version does look better and I also agree that it is a fact that the PS4 version has more pixels then the X1 version.
but when I have taking these facts into consideration the end results is not a more stark difference then how it was last gen for some titles on the PS3.
In particular fallout 3
I have played both version of F3 and this video shows a a a noticeable difference , a difference that looks to me bigger then the difference between BF4 on x1 and on PS4
