I cannot get over what Microsoft was thinking with this system's hardware. At least with the Wii U you know it's not trying to compete with the PS4, and even then it's not more expensive than it.

People purchasing either console (or both) are making decisions based on any number of criteria, none of which should concern you.

Some of us just like games and want to play all of them.

They are not stupid, they know the shit storm that is created recently around resolutions, this ladies and gentlemen is how you advertise,... :D (at the expensive of X1)

Oh my god, dude I'm giving an example of a 1080p game. I was under the impression he thought no games were 1080p.

There are definitely shortcomings, but I'll leave those to people more knowledgeable than I.

Unlike BF4, which i frankly do not care about as a game, i do care personally about Call of Duty. But i wont pretend that its some visual marvel, whether its 720p or 1080p, its still not a great looking game from what ive seen.

dear anyone who told me that this was 'just a rumour'... rumours don't work like that.

glad that it's been confirmed though, so people can stop yelling at me that it's just a rumour whenever I mention it.

Since what we learnt from the BF4 faceoff thread was that 720p > 900p, the CoD Ghosts one will finally teach everyone that 720p >> 1080p.

720p will use less power than 1080p. It will lower your power bill vs the PS4. The savings from which you can pay for Xbox Live.

Xbox One is the ecologically sound gaming system. The environmentalist's choice.

What's amusing was the 1080p PS4 footage that I thought they put out. I mean, the game... um, doesnt really look all that great to begin with.

Wii U is pretty close in cost to the PS4.

And lets not pretend like this is the archetypal Xbox One game. Forza is 1080p and Ryse looks perfectly next-gen.

I think looking at the game, its hard to blame this entirely on the hardware.

I don't personally care about CoD, but this stuff really makes me wonder how MS screwed up the performance on the Xbox One so bad. Where did they go wrong?

I just don't get how a new console is struggling to run a game at a higher resolution than their 8 year old console.

It almost seems like the biggest difference between the 360 and the X1 is the amount of the RAM.

Maybe devs will overcome the issues with using the ESRAM as they did with the Cell CPU in the PS3.
