What if the Xbone's disc drive is just one these...

BF4: 56%
COD: 125%

1. What piece of information would you want that I could provide that would convince you there is not a huge delta in performance?
2. If it comes out after we launch that the difference between 3rd party games is maybe single-digit FPS between the two platforms, will I get an apology or concession?

So, so, out of touch.
So, when should we expect an apology from Albert P?

Seems a little of both to me, developer-blame and hardware. Its not like this is the pinnacle of what the Xbox One can do. We see other games, even at launch, that look much better.

I don't know why I'm bothering. These threads devolve into the console warriors coming out and pissing all over themselves and others. I think I'll try and stay dry outside of it, have fun guys.

I replied to you on page 5, but you may have missed it.

XB1 exclusives are designed specifically for that hardware. When you build hardware that demands special treatment, this is what you get, COD and BF4 running at 720p. Most devs aren't gonna design their game engine around the XB1's problems.

This is just a bad day for gamers in general. Xbox fans get a 720p CoD, while PS and Xbox fans don't get DNLA or MP3 support.

This next-gen isn't really feeling all that "next-gen-y" to me anymore.

Game doesn't even look demanding though. It's a 1.3TF GPU in there and 8GB of RAM. 1080p shouldn't be a problem. I've talked to a couple devs about the ESRAM causing problems, it's going to be ironed out in the future (even according to CBOAT).

CBOAT said the resolution problem would never go away. It's reportedly more of a memory bottleneck kind of problem than it is a lack of computing power problem.

Look at the framerates

I guess multiplayer really is all that matters to them.

I'm not interested on any platform. Heck, pull back some post processing or depth of field or something. I prefer graphic tweaks before resolution tweaks. 30fps at 1080p in a shooter in single player at least.

Glad Albert will finally find out now.

I wonder what his reaction would be. He said it clearly looks the same.

So can we finally say he is a bullshit ?

and, always, the elephant in the room no one ever addresses...

that exclusive game running at 720p and 60 fps.

I think they learnt from DICE/EA mistakes. The talk of the BF4 reveal was the pixel count rather than the game. Least they can now reveal the game without this getting in the way.

This is exactly what it is. The esRAM is an absolute bottleneck for the XB1, and unless you specifically design your game engine in a way that works around it, you're gonna have these lower resolutions every time.

Doubt this is an issue of specs, more on the dev.

Ryse looks leagues better and is running at 900p, and Forza 5 is 1080p native. A lot of devs are finding the ESRAM complicated at launch, but they'll iron out the kinks as we go forward.

Um...

Megaton, compared to last gen (360 vs PS3), we are already seeing a huge different in the capabilities of each platform early on...

In a few years I fully expect almost all multiplatforms to run in 720p on Xbox One, in order to get the games to work at all with its underpowered hardware...

Oh Microsoft see what you get when you turn your games division over to accountants, lawyers and marketing people?

f'ing dumb-asses, I fucking hope you people choke on unsold X1's...............

Terrible Microsoft. You better start cranking out great exclusives because no one is picking the X1 for Multiplats for sure.

for me I am guessing this is more of the devs reaching a deadline issue rather then the hardware not being able to run COD (of all games) at native 1080p

but... why is the PS4 version not 720p? Isn't that version coming out on a earlier date?

Well when I mean a deadline issue I mean that it is harder for devs to port and optimizing the game for the XO compared to the PS4 which is easier....

The next COD in 2014 could be 1080p native for all we know when devs finally get a hang of using the XO hardware....

of course that is saying if we do get a COD next year and that either the devs learnt how to use the hardware by then and/or they are using the same/not power hunger engine that we see today

What multiplatform games had resolution differences between the 360 and PS3?

Killer Instinct or Titanfall?

Because KI looks fucking crazy and 60 is basically a requirement. I get the feeling they're real time constrained for launch though and started real late. Bang up job by Double Helix so far though

I'd say 720p games is definitely a bigger issue than not supporting MP3s.

I don't know how to feel about this. Haven't been this conflicted in choosing a console in a long while.

It was torture for me for 2 months. These last few days have confirmed I will use a Sony console as my main gaming machine for the first time ever. Bring me a 3rd party controller asap please.

Imagine if it's not even full 720p. Imagine if it's like, 1024 x 720 or something crazy.

(It almost definitely won't be, but just imagine)
