Not sure about Matangi. It felt like I was listening to one long song.

The tea, spill it.

It's better than Maya, but I'm not seeing it competing with Arular and Kala. Y.A.L.A.'s the one true Arular level bop for me.

This alberm is SLAYING me

WHY in god's name have I not used this before.

Ooh, we're watching someone get their Superior Robyn cherry popped. STAN THE SWEDISH SNAGGLETOOTH GODDESS

Downside: music in your life will now and forever be held to her standard, and will mostly flop in comparison.

So I discovered a new girl like two days ago. She's an indie artist and she's Latina, a rare but welcome combination *.*
I don't know if she's been mentioned before. Either way, I made an Artist Spotlight for ha, botty ;)

Originating from Brooklyn, New York, Lorely Rodriguez is another artist who has made the internet her debut platform. Lorely adopted the stage name of Empress Of and soon posted a series of so called "Colorminutes" on YouTube, 1-minute songs that showed her range of talent. Click here to check them out. Since then, Empress Of has released the single Champagne (along with B-side, Don't Tell Me) and her debut EP, Systems. Her sound can essentially be described as dream-pop glittered with retro electronic synths and beats. Her alto voice could remind one of Grimes and FKA Twigs. Another thing, Empress Of does know spanish and thus has two great Spanish songs in her EP.

You may like Empress Of if you like: Blood Orange, Solange

I use, welcome.

Do you like Ellie Goulding? If not you should check her out, she seems to be right up your alley based on your taste.

I love Ellie, Halcyon has some really good bops, and Burn is outstanding.

And i agree, Robyn, that girl is PURE POP PERFECTION and everyone should listen to her and surrender to the one Queen Robyn of Sweden

Girl you know me like I know you
I made a mistake that is true
If you can't forgive me let me go
I'm no devil but I'm your dog
I do what I'm told, talk the talk
Hope the demons walk the walk
My hands are dirtier, hell no
What I feel, what I know, what I hear
It is over

Um, YES. Everyone listen to this Brooklyn QUEEN <3

Champagne and Hat Trick slays. Discovered her when I went to see Blue Hawaii live and she opened for them. Been trying to catch another one of her shows but they're always 21+ :((((((((

Sky might end up surpassing Haim as my favorite pop-related alberm of the year.

Really? I like Sky's album, but I thought HAIM was more consistent overall.

Speaking of HAIM. Has anyone ranked their favorite DRG tracks yet?

I was obsessed with it for so many weeks, and then I discovered the bonus track The Edge which gave the album a second wind for me.

HAIM's album is assuredly better than Sky's. There are an abundance of 'slay bitch!' moments on Days Are Gone, something I can't really say about Night Time, My Time. The title track alone >>>>>. Jesus Ware, her power.

It's clear that Ariel Rechtshaid gave it his all while working with HAIM and Sky got the table scraps. Poor it. Maybe next time.

I haven't listened to the bonus tracks yet, but my top five would be Falling, The Wire, Honey & I, Days Are God, and My Song 5.

As of right now, I prefer Night Time, My Time to Days Are Gone, though. oopT.
