Don't know why the family evacuated. These were wandering spiders, they aren't going to stay around the house. Rest of the neighborhood should probably evacuate though.

I'm paranoid as fuck now. Blindly sticking my hands in crisp packets. What the fuck have I been eating?

76% of all packaged food is in fact spiders.

As someone who works in a produce department and opened thousands of banana boxes, i've never seen a spider.

Grapes on the other hand, are a different story

I remember when I was stocking bananas at the grocery store I worked at, some guy would always come up and ask if I found any spiders or snakes because this kind of thing happens. I did find a spider in one after that, and quickly got away from it as it scurried away where I couldn't kill it.

Also once found a pair of rusty cutters/snippers/whatever you call 'em in a shipment of strawberries. Felt bad for the person who lost 'em.

I love bananas...for the love of all please make sure those horrifying monsters stay away from apples and strawberries or I'll have to become a carnivore

Ewww...eww

I know what's going to be on there.

I mean, the clue is in the URL.

I know it will do nothing but strike fear in my heart.

And yet I click. Fuck.

Should have kept my damn mouth shut.

I don't mind spiders, but if it's bigger than a dime and in my house, that fucker's dead.

Hehehehehe

Seriously, I don't mind where I live as most spiders aren't bigger than say, my thumb and they aren't venomous. Long Live Canada.

Well the adult ones are pretty easy to spot because they're so large. Now the brown spiders...

Back when I lived in Curitiba (BRA), every time you were going to wear clothes, shoes or go to bed, you had to shake everything away, because most of the time a brown spider was inside your stuff. And they're so tiny, you could even get bitten and only know when the loxoscelism (don't google, please) kicked in.
Mom always used to tell me as a kid: if you notice a bite mark on your skin, or feel a bite, check if it's two red dots next to each other. If it is, ask for help immediately.

I moved away years ago, but I still shake everything before I use it.

Always thought this fascinating with these spiders:

Wikipedia said:
Aside from causing intense pain, the venom of the spider can also cause priapism in humans. Erections resulting from the bite are uncomfortable, can last for many hours and can lead to impotence. A component of the venom (Tx2-6) is being studied for use in erectile dysfunction treatments.[12][13][14]

I had a trip to New Zealand for approx. six months. Big and small spiders literally everywhere. In the beginning I killed them with my shoes/lighter etc but in the last few months I barely cared. I went to sleep in rooms knowing there are spiders walking around. I guess that could've ended badly since I never bothered to check if they are poisonous or not. Oh well -_-.

Welp, that's me and bananas done. I was already put off after eating a banana with some sort of creature in it. Horrible. I'll stick to apples and oranges.
