Dozens of Spiders Found in Home in...

Australia

Trigger warning: Massive spider infestation!

Claudia Demrose could hardly believe what she saw when she was called to her daughter’s bedroom this week.

Dozens of what have been tentatively identified as baby Huntsman spiders scurried around the walls as Demrose shot video of the terrifying sight. Since this was in Australia, where some of the most disturbing wildlife encounters have occurred, the woman seemed unimpressed by the startling sight and quips “they’re so cute!” as the arachnids scuttle around the room.

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation saysthat a heatwave followed by heavy rains likely brought the spiders inside, as other Sydney residents have also reported similar experiences. Dr. Robert Raven of the Queensland Museum said that the creatures pose little threat to humans and will “happily eat each other” as they grow.

As a further testament to the Australian spirit of living in harmony with crawly neighbors, Demrose said that her daughter actually went to sleep in the room that night, with the spiders still lurking about.

i welcome that

huntsman are harmless to people and they look cool and fuck up pests

They have been known to inflict serious defensive bites on humans.[7]

There have been reports of members of various genera such as Palystes,[8]Neosparassus (formerly called Olios) and several others, inflicting severe bites. The effects vary, including local swelling and pain, nausea, headache, vomiting, irregular pulse rate, and heart palpitations, indicating some systemic neurological toxin effects, especially when the bites were severe or repeated.

you gotta really be trying to fuck with a huntsman of a good size for it to get mad to the point where its gonna bite

they are really.. really docile

they cant kill people and they definitely wont actively come after people

Spotted the un-Australian poster.

and here is another part of the article

"However, the formal study of spider bites is fraught with complications, including unpredictable infections, dry bites, shock, nocebo effects, and even bite misdiagnosis by medical professionals and specimen misidentification by the general public."

spider species bites do get mistaken where the blame goes to an innocent spider

people have reported they got bit by a weak venom spider while their arm is bubbling but in reality that shit was like a brown recluse which is a motherfucker and the weak venom spider takes the blame

A friend of mine last year had a similar problem but with cockroaches. Some really big ones, tons of them. I can't stand both cockroaches and spiders. At first he used some sort of poison but it didn't work then he bought a couple of ultrasonic repellers and they worked. At least the majority of the pest were deterred by them from his house.
I know that these pests can convey a whole lot of different diseases so I wouldn't mess with them. Even if you see one tiny spider or cockroach or whatever it is a sign that you need to take some actions because they grow in number fast af.
