Oh wow, now that is bad.

So I guess that 'three weeks for 90fps on PS4' hearsay rumour belongs on the trash heap.

All we need now is for the Xbone version to average 30fps

so after all the bullshit that is "resolutiongate" (what a fucking dumb name), we find out that the game doesn't even run steadily in order to maintain that extra resolution that the vast majority of consumers will never notice in the first place. great.

BF4 runs at a higher frame rate and a higher resolution on PS4, and at least one game journalist who has seen both versions of CoD thinks the PS4 version looks a lot better.

This thread is a graveyard.

This call of duty is a disaster... for everyone. It's a disaster on SLI Titans, it's a disaster on the PS4 and it's a disaster on the xbox one. Fighting over who it is less of a disaster for seems silly. Fighting until you get banned, however, is awesome.

But there is still hope with the WiiU version- the definitive version- , Treyarch can beat the big brother...

The fault lies with IW, not the next gen consoles, the game has performance issues on all platforms. Seems like 360 has the most dependable framerate, but graphically it looks really bad, even by COD standards.

Terrible game optimization confirmed. Doesn't have much to do with the platforms

i agree on terrible optimization...but i think just about everyone would agree that the PS3 was the defacto optimization and parity killing console of all time at launch...

i would kindly ask you to point me to an example where the PS3 version of a game rendered HALF the pixels of the Xbox 360 version, and then the gap was made up completely in subsequent sequels by even the end the generation (forget about the next year)...

Maybe the title should be changed to also include Xbox one impressions so that people don't ignorantly run off to their twitter accounts to misinform the millions that this is solely a PS4 issue.

This is not "some people say". We have hard data on the framerates of these games.
Where am I implying otherwise? I'm saying that "some people" *in this thread* are arguing that the frame rate drops being mentioned in the PS4 version are typical of the franchise and using the historical evidence of framerate drops for previous games as proof. I'm just asking why or how thats relevant in this case. The PS4 version specifically is being highlighted as the offender by reviewers who have played all versions (but conveniently can't comment on the Xbone version) so its logical to assume it's worse than the other versions, which, based on historical evidence, will have some level of frame rate drops, right? That's really all I was going for here...

I wonder if resolutiongate and now framerategate are the megaton Cboat Pmed to bish?

If what conrad says is true and COD is 1080p60fps on PS4, 720p50fps on XB1 with drops on both that's crazy

Folks who wanted to be misinformed...did so in the morning... :p

This isn't a lazy port or bad developers. It's the end result of a rushed development cycle. These games simply aren't finished, but they had to be released due to demanding timelines set by management. Throw in two new platforms with immature development tools and it was a recipe for disaster from the jump.

What "extreme frame drops" ? EDGE magazine's review of the PS4 version only said there was some stutter in between checkpoints that never affected gameplay. IGN and Giant Bomb's reviews mentioned "occasional dips," namely when there was a lot of smoke or explosions on screen.

Nothing was ever said about "severe" or "extreme" frame drops.

To be honest, I'd be much more worried about the state of the Xbox One version's performance, considering Microsoft banned all publications and journalists from even mentioning it right now. That, coupled with the fact that Battlefield 4 runs at a worse framerate and resolution on the Xbone than PS4, should be cause for concern.

When you consider what Killzone is pulling off on PS4, attention should be on the COD devs for not nailing down performance on the hardware.

Who's Jeremy Conrad?

Also I wonder if the outlets will now publish articles stating that while framedrops at 1080p are noticeable, even worse framedrops at 720p are about the same as 1080p with no framedrops and not really noticeable. Also the game will be fun so who cares!

Rock solid 60FPS? Call of Duty? Haha.

From my experience on the Xbox 360 past COD games, yeah, MP is 99% locked at 60 and that was one of the good consistent things you could expect.

SP usually has dips though.

Any frame rate issues on next gen versions would be disappointing.

Who's Jeremy Conrad?

Former IGN Editor now works at Furiousfanboy.com, confirmed COD ghosts was 720p on XB1 before most other confirmations

I think this is why MS has the embargo and the embargo of the embargo

So no one talks about it at all

Why? There's several games that look and run awesome. Considerably better than anything on current gen.

Yes, sure. Launches are expensive and rough, plus I am enjoying my current systems and at this time do not feel the need for another box. In the future yes, probably, PS4 has a lot going for it, but I may stick with PC. I have 3DS/PS3 and Wii U.

So are we NOW going to admit that 720p on Xbox One for Ghost is horseshit an probably due to IW not optimizing things right? If Ryse can do what it's doing at 900p, and Forza is hitting 1080p 60fps, and Killzone is hitting 1080p 30/60 fps, then I think we can all agree that some of this resolutiongate thing is more due to IW not optimizing things straight.

Ghosts should have had a new engine.

Unfortunately, Activision is the slum lord of video game companies, they will ignore shitty plumbing and a lack of hot water until all tenants start moving out.

Want them to start spending actual money on their game sequels? Stop buying their game sequels.

Man if PS4 is struggling I hate to think what it'll be like on Xbone.

But the X1 renders at 720p native, rather than 1080p native, so maybe it has no frame-rate issues?

According to MS, they did not pressure devs to hit 1080p native, so maybe IW went with 720p on the X1 in order to have a rock-solid 60fps?

That's a really dumb train of thoughts considering there are links to Xbone version looking worse and a reviewer saying the PC version has frame drops even on high-end PC. All the more reason why you should read the thread thoroughly before posting.
