Anyway I'm wondering what upload bandwidth do you need to get a good stream via the PS4 twitch-style streaming. If a lot and you can't customize it (so you can get a good quality stream with less bandwidth) then I might as well see if I can get a cheap HDCP/HDMI splitter thing.

Suppose we'll find out more details when it's officially out in the US.

You'd want 5Mbit/s upload as a minimum, I'd say 10 is recommended so you are not using up all your upload just for the stream.

Less than 5 will work, but it's far from optimal.

My streams work well with a 2.9 - 3Mbps upload speed (stream in 720+p) and it works great.

But PS4 might require more to get a good quality stream going (compared to using a normal capture card) assuming you can't customize much + it auto-adjusts the quality based on your connection speed.

I really think this is an ingenious idea by Sony. This could spark a new phenomenon where everyone is a lets player. The diversity of opinion surrounding games on the internet will explode.
