Need For Speed PS4: The best game nobody is talking about

Good it's an EA game and therefore doesn't deserve attention.
(please quote me when TitanFall eventually comes out and am I will be all over it...)

Ive got to say, Im feeling pretty smug about my £34.99 preorder with amazon for this.

I had a feeling it would be a sleeper hit.

Glad I got in there before the price went up.

But does it have manual transmission as an option in the game? I can't play NFS without it, period. I miss need for speed. I'm not a fan of burnout for speed. It's not the same and I was hoping this game goes back to being need for speed when I heard it was made by a diff dev.....then I find out the new dev is like 80% of the old dev team....

Its burnout for speed with weapons.

Looks pretty good. On the Rev3games, there seemed to be some frame rate issues, but that could have been the stream. One of the hosts said that he was experiencing some frame rate issues though when it was still cashing data from the disk. Haven't seen any of the customization options for it.

I'm surprised that there are not any official reviews of it yet. Wonder when the embargo is up.

You did well. Especially for that price.

Really want to hear the general reviews - but I think this has replaced Knack on my launch list.

The more I see of this, the more I'm impressed.

Looks great, but yeah, like a lot of others moving the release date from the 19th to 15th seems to have short shipped Amazon's stock and so who knows when I'll get to play it.

But when I do I can't wait! Hot Pursuit was AWESOME.

A little over 30 minutes. USgamer's review is going up at midnight PST when the embargo drops. Expect to see everyone else's reviews at the same time.

Looks like a half hour from now.

The comments in twitch is all you need to sell this game.

99% of them are talking about how amazing it looks, saying stuff like holy crap wow, amazing, incredible, this is sweet, etc

Then you go to the madden stream, or NBA live, and well...ya

My Amazon order still says shipping Dec 26. Will probably cancel it and grab it off PSN if that doesn't change by tomorrow.

No review, looks exactly like Hot Pursuit without the 90's arcade colors but gritty Frostbite cinematic color grading and it comes after really disapointing Most Wanted 2012...

I still want to believe. But I'm not a 59,99$ believer

I noticed there is no thread for the new Need for Speed, So I figured I would make a quick one.

This game looks absolutely jaw dropping, seriously, nobody is talking about it, yet it might have the best graphics out of all the ps4 launch games.

There is a reason why nobody is talking about it: It's a racing game at 30FPS.

Nice try, EA.

The game does look really fun, but I do sort of miss the old progression model of winning races to earn cash, which is then spent at your own discretion on new cars/cosmetics/performance upgrades.

pretty sure you can do that in this game

We get it. You're an elitist. It's been pounded into our skull every time we see you post.

Haha, no, not at all. I don't even own a high end rig, just 2500k and a 660TI, that's middle class at best. No elitist at work, sire. I just know what is neccesary for a great gaming experience compared to an ok/mediocre one.

Still in there. Though it's speed points, not cash.

EDIT: Look at the top middle of the stream. The yellow number.

Can you? This guy has been doing mainly cop stuff, which seems to be on the unlock system more like Hot Pursuit. I suppose I'm just pining for a resurrection of the Underground franchise.

yea saw it on the other stream, you can customize your car.

Heard someone say the PC version is also locked at 30fps, make of that what you will.

Doesn't matter to me anyway, 30fps or not it looks great. People need to just focus on the experience and not constantly obsess about the numbers.

It's a third party game. Doesn't fit into the console war narrative

Be more specific. It is a third party game that is 1080p and 30fps on both machines with no major discernible graphic differences, so it doesn't fit into the console war narrative.

(Plenty of other third party games fit the narrative just fine and is what spawned all the resolution-gate stuff to begin with.)

That's right. NBA 2K14 fits into that category as well

I played Most Wanted on PS3 and that was 30FPS and under at times. Can't say that it ever bothered me at any point during the game.

I literally have this and FIFA, staring at them ...thinking bout opening both. I want to trade it for BF4 or KZ at target however. But I have the PS4 right here waiting. So tempting haha.

Got this in my Amazon B2G1 deal. I really enjoyed MW even though there wasn't much to that game. Rivals looks like it's cut from the same cloth gameplay wise, but with the extra content MW lacked. Looking forward to the reviews since there seems to be so little info about this game out there.

That's nice and all..but how does it play?

Or isn't that important in this day and age anymore?

Really liked HP2, is it anything like that? Regarding the driving mechanics and the courses I mean.

Yes, it's similar to NFS Hot Pursuit with aspects of Street Racer / Cop Car missions, but it has open world like Burnout Paradise / NFS: Most Wanted.

Meh

How's the diversity of the landscape?
