Gaf, I think I like Nickelback.

So Nickelback recently released their greatest hits album, and it confirms something that I've always suspected I don't hate them. Despite society at large telling me how I should feel about this band I actually rather like a majority of the songs I've heard from them.

I think people just get tired of them because it seems like they are almost always on the radio, and yeah that gets old. But you know eight years out Photograph and How You Remind Me are mighty fine songs.

Am I alone in this?

So not worth it
I actually made a comment this morning that on the top list of Obnoxious Music, Nickelback doesn't even hit the top 10 for me.

Doesn't mean I like them, but I am pretty much indifferent to them. Definitely don't hate them.

How you remind me was playing at work the other night. I'll admit, I was singing along. It's decent stuff, I don't go out of my way to listen to it. I feel like they're becoming the nirvana and sublime of my music taste. I never really listen to any of these bands' music, yet I know a majority of the songs and quite like most of them. It's just a side affect of the radio.

I have never understood the pure hatred for this band. Sure I an get why some people get annoyed by the cheap beat they have in their singles, but their heavier songs are great for at least driving a car to.

I genuinely think this is one of the better songs they've put out

Lullaby

The story behind this is it's about Chad learning that his old Babysitter's boyfriend died in a motorcycle accident and how he tries to comfort her.

The hate for Nickelback is based on the corporate label bullshit they represent, and their ridiculous overexposure, as much as it is for any of their excessively bland, repetitive, warmed-over-grunge song-turds.

Also it was pretty gross when Nickelback married Avril.

Yeah, Chad and Avril are making babies. Let that sink in. Those two are populating the world with children with even worse taste in music than their parents.

I've always imagined that bands like Nickelback don't necessarily listen to the music they make, that it's just a job for them. I mean, it would certainly explain a few things.

My idea of hell is an all nickleback and creed playlist going 24/7 at full volume for eternity. Matter of fact if i had to listen to such a thing for even 15 minutes I might just beg to be tossed into the lake of flames instead. Nickleback being allowed to make music ranks up there with pedophilia, the holocaust, not aborting Anne Coulter, and tofurkey as the worst things mankind has ever done.

I support the right of people to do what they like in the privacy of their homes, as long as it doesn't harm anyone else.

Ive heard far worse bands in mainstream than Nickelback, i mean far worse. I never quite understood the utter hatred that people have for them, "causing my ears to bleed!" like really? I know people love to exaggerate on the internet, something is either godlike or crime against humanity and there is no inbetween, but the sheer hate this band gets is something else. It rivals Bieber, Kardashian, Octomom and Paris Hilton type hate.

If you like one song, you'll probably like 'em all.

Nickelback's alright, I don't really get all the hate. There are worse bands to crap on.

i like their older stuff because nostalgia. but nostalgia aside i don't think they're so bad... they're just a standard pop rock ensemble so they're an easy target. that said, you wouldn't see me at a nickleback show or wearing a shirt or anything.

kind of funny though, i remember when i first saw that "leader of men" video i thought "these guys need to get the memo it isn't 1995 anymore" ... had no idea they'd be as successful as they ended up

Hero is the only Nickelback song I kind of enjoy cause it reminds me of seeing the first Spider-Man movie when I was a kid.

Thankfully I didn't get into the band cause everything else I heard years later from them is bad.

Since we are in the subject of disliked bands, I must say I like the song "Blurry" from Puddle of Mudd.
Great Song.
