Not Steam-related: I got an email from Ubisoft that my AssCreed4 that I got very, very cheap during that Nvidia-glitch is now 'in stock'. Had to go into my order history on shop.ubi.com to get the key and put it into Uplay.

Thanks man, if not for your post I would have skipped that (Google translator said it was out of stock). Even if Watch Dogs won't go through, this was the best game deal this year.

Not in this case: Valve isn't going to help and since he bought one of the replacement subs Ubi isn't going to remove the restriction since they weren't ever region-free. The best he can do is sell it to an Eastern European user and make most of his money back.

I see, well at least some people can have the game if they are in Europe, hope he finds someone who want it.

So the chance they might disable the region lock on my copy is practically zero? In that case, can i sell the cd key to some russian guy for cheaps? Or is it tied to my account now since i tried to activate it? Sorry for being such a noob on this steam thing.

So you have a key that couldn't be activated? Then it's still valid and can be sold.

Will try that.. Any russians/eastern europeans who wants to buy AC4 dirt cheap?

Is your copy a key or a Steam gift? I didn't think there were any Steam-redeemable keys for the RU/CIS version. You may have a tougher time offloading a key if you don't have much "rep" (positive trading comments on your profile).

So it looks like Black Mesa is going to be for sale on Steam soon.

Take a minute and let that sink in... then read about it here.

I ok with this, they are still going to update the free version once the steam release is out. As long as Valve gives them the "ok" and the devs pay for the engine license then there shouldn't be a problem.

Well, here's the thing.

1. I bought this game from a guy on CAG.

2. The game was gifted to me on Steam.

3. I accepted the gift and the game is in my library.

4. When i try to install it, it just says: "Region locked, you're fucked"

5. Tried to put the cd key into Uplay as well with no luck.

Is the key possible to sell? I don't think it is since it was a gift to start with..?

Now, maybe it's clearer?? I'm sorry if i'm hard to understand but i'm from sweden and therefore i'm pretty shitty at your language.

The least you can do for someone so generous is to reciprocate with a loving massage. And by that I mean... well you know what I mean.

Or a picture with Saoirise Ronan where she holds a piece of paper - "I want JaseC so bad"

Unfortunately you can't sell the Uplay key since the Steam versions of Uplay games need to be launched from the Steam client, so the key is useless without the associated library entry. Submit a support ticket to Valve, explaining that you didn't realise the copy was region-locked and you'd like to return it to your inventory as a gift (I'm not sure how much luck you'll have here since Steam has already provided you with a Uplay key).

Well I'm dumb and can seem to repost these keys through ModBot so in this post are humblebundle gift links for

Batman: Arkham Asylum GotY:
F.E.A.R.:
F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin:

edit: send me a PM so I can cross the game off the list if you redeem the game.

Watch_Dogs will probably go through. Somebody mentioned that the Russian Support mentioned the purchase was valid on their system, and since Assassin's Creed Black Flag came through, I don't see why Watch Dogs wouldn't. It's still listed on my purchase history.

The ONLY bad thing about this is that I probably won't ever buy Assassin's Creed IV or Watch Dogs on Steam because of it. However, I can live with that.

Thanks chronomac for the Awesomenaut DLC! :)

Thanks for the UFO game :). I've been keen to try one of those once I heard they were an 'homage' to the original XCom which I have never played.

I'm sorry if i'm hard to understand but i'm from sweden and therefore i'm pretty shitty at your language.

I would not have known unless you had said.

In my experience many Europeans for whom English is a second, third or fourth language still speak better English than many native English speakers these days.

Sorry I can't help you with your issue though; I have no experience of such matters. However, I'm sure there are plenty in SteamGAF who will be able to assist you :).

Saw a friend playing Skyrim the other day... now i want to get into it as well, will this EVER go on a deep discount on Steam or...should i just bite the bullet? If so, Legendary or regular edition?

Worth a shot. It's not like i have anything to lose at this point.. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for The Basement Collection (don't even know what it be), Glass Ruble!

It's a collection of Ed McMillen's (of Super Meat Boy, Binding of Isaac fame) games he's worked on including some behind the scenes type stuff like concept art and prototypes.

Thanks JaseC for Knight Shift, and also Star Wolves 3 that I forgot to thank you for last time. Games I will honestly install, and might even play.

It'll have a decent enough discount this holiday.
Though a really heavy discount won't be until seriously either the next Elder Scrolls or Fallout game comes out. Bethesda know they have you until they release their next game.

As for which version depends on how much you plan on playing. Obviously vanilla will be cheaper.

I know, I know, y'all been missing them, so here we go!

The Copons' Euro Truck Simulator 2 Adventures

Just finished my first ETS2 session guys (and by "guys" I actully mean "Milamber")!
It lasted 85 minutes, 80 of which were just trying to reverse park my truck in the right spot.

But let's start from the beginning.
I was a little disappointed that I had to choose my profile picutre between a lot of random shady guys. I picked the shadiest one, a bald oriental guy with sunglasses, thin moustaches and a super cool goatee.
Also I was disappointed that I couldn't pick a Padre Pio holy picture and a couple of porn posters to furnish my cabin, both of which are a must have of every Italian truck driver.

But mostly I was disappointed in the complete lack of central and southern Italy. C'mon guys, is not like no one ever heard about ROME! I want to drive a truck in my condo, who cares about Milan, Turin and Verona and the fact that Rome is out of any useful European route!

Oh well.

I tried a couple of fast jobs to get the hang of it. I didn't! I actually spent like 20 minutes trying to put the fucking truck in the right spot to get more experience and when finally I succeeded in doing it, I pushed the wrong button telling the game to skip the parking and "fast" deliver. :'(

Anyway, fuck it, now I'm like the boss of truck parking. But in real life, when a truck is trying to park there's always one random guy around waving his hands and shouting directions to the driver. I want him in the game and I want him now.

Fun fact: if you deliver with correct reverse parking you get something like 40 XP, but if you skip the parking you get 1 XP. WTF?

Then I decided to deliver to the nearest city. On the ramp to the highway I grinded a little bit against a guardrail. Maybe I was speeding, but there wasn't witnesses so fuck off, the truck was already damaged when I took it!
Anyway, when I deliver, the guy decides to shave off my wage 433€ to pay for truck damages.
Four hundreds, thirty three euros.
What the hell? Is your truck made of diamonds and unicorn horns? If I knew it before leaving the truck, I'd totally ditched the delivery to dump all the cargo in a lake or something.

At some point I got an email. It was the bank, telling me that if I need money they offer great loans and stuff. Talk about hyper-realism!
But no, after the current economic crisis I don't want a loan, thank you anyway.

During the next delivery I decided it was time to purchase my own truck and start my own delivery empire.
So I go to the nearest Iveco dealer with a totally gangsta roll of 7000€ (that I earned in half a day of trucking... fuck me and the moment I chose web development) and only then I notice that a truck costs A LOT, and by a lot I mean like more than 100K€! What the hell!
I run out of that place just to notice that actually, I didn't really parked my truck in a comfortable way. Like, half in the parking lot and half in the road outside. And suddenly I realize there is no space of maneuver.
I start panicking but eventually I managed to free the truck detatching the car, circumventing the cargo and reattaching on the other side. BAM! Copons keep on trucking and deliver on time!

Finally I level up and discover what will totally be my drug for the next FOREVER: when you level up you can assign a skill point on pretty normal skills like the ability to travel farther, or to accept harder jobs. But more interestingly: you can put your skill on stuff like "transport explosive materials" or "toxic materials" or I don't know, nukes or Mafia disposed corpses!! I honestly can't wait to crash a truck full of acid or some shit.

In conclusion I must say I'm impressed (well, not graphically, I'm barely on medium details, with no AA and HDR). Driving a truck seems surprisingly funny, and my gf too asked me lots of times "plz let me play". NO, I WON'T LET YOU PLAY. I'M THE MAN HERE, AND ONLY MEN ARE ALLOWED TO DRIVE TRUCKS. Uhn.

PS: of every truck I drove, the Renault one had the gaaaayest horn ever! C'mon French guys, at least show some efforts!
I hope it's clear that I'm kidding, but just in case, always keep in mind that there always is an ancestral Italy/France rivalry going on! :p

EDIT: oh shit it came out an extra long post!

Well, tl;dr: ETS2 is super cool fuck yeah #yolo

Thanks. The game pic looks SMB-like, so I figured it was related somehow.

If what JaseC suggested doesn't work the only way is using VPN to install and play. I have the same problem with Borderlands 2, it's a pain in the butt but works that way (also I can start the game through Nvidia's GeForce Experience without VPN for whatever reason).

I liked the dark souls one better.

fix your shit brah.

Man that was harsh!

I mean, I'm sweating hard with all these deliveries just to buy me a new rig! Show some respect for a working man! :D

EDIT:

First session and you are already cutting people? Fine... no, no, no, just... fine. Okay...

What's the point? His adventures are CLEARLY not for us... HUMPF.

:D

It's... it's... just that I need some closure with him!!

Good luck! Hope you can solve it.

Good luck! If you're successful and would like to know how best to sell off your copy, just ask.

Such a friendly forum. Almost brings a tear to my eye! Thanks a lot guys!

Huh, weird that they are able to sell it when it's still missing the Xen part.

But if they fixed the terrible aimbot AI I might actually buy it at a low price because Black Mesa was pretty cool.

Yeah, I am playing my way through this at the moment (slowly) and am on the No Loans Highway as well. Hopefully that choice won't dampen our empire building fun too much.

By the way, ETS2 is published by French group Focus Home Interactive, do you think maybe that's why Italy is partially cut in a pre-emptive IN YO FACE COPONS style?
