Yeah I need to stop watching these vids or review vids since by now I may have spoiled the first 3 chapters at least, XO

Yeah, that is the trouble with adventure/puzzle type games! So hard to strike a balance between great coverage and too many puzzle spoilers!

Only played up til the Start of CHapter 4 since I had to go to bed, but I liked what I played.
Only gripe atm is what others have wrote about the arm, hopefully this'll be resolved in the Vita ver., but it's something to look into.
Basically say there are 4 NPCs around you. I can get if you can't move while in Mind reading mode, but there are some NPCs that I can't direct the arm towards unless I move my position.

Good move adding a 'Fast forward' and Rewind option for NPC dialogs, bonus points for making them sound like chipmunks when you FF XD

One thing I didn't expect is
referencing the freakin' Silver Surfer NES game! Can you even DO that on a Sony system?!

The Vita version will have some touch screen support, so in those cases it could be easier to go into brain mode and then simply touch the brain you want to read.

Haha, I asked about that too when I first played the game. They were apparently ok with it!

Oh, by the way everybody...

First week of December.

You should check out the area above the location where you got the helium tank.

I just had a quick look at this game. I arrived at chapter 3 but i haven't done anything yet other than going around and reading some brains.

I have to say though: i love the art direction and the music. The art direction is really original and it looks great. Music wise, the game has a rather fantastic menu song.

Selecting which brain to read seems a bit awkward at first but i'm sure i'll get used to it. Good first impressions then and i'm intrigued how the gameplay will turn out.

I must have left the game on the menu for about 20 minutes... the song is now burned in to my brain a little bit :)

Oh, we're going to be doing a little twitter giveaway if people are interested in the game :)

Just curious...for those who have played since it released...have any trophies that you've earned actually synced to the PSN?

Everytime I go to sync, the trophies I've earned don't show up.

Hmm that was an issue with some other games too.

Well I'm in the final chapter, it was a fun ride and kinda sad it's gonna end, but I'll replay it on the Vita when it's out =)

I don't get it. Hwy does tghis game have so little media exposure. hard core indie games get more reviews than this one on mainstream sites. What's the deal here? :/

Sadly, I think mainstream sites are too focused on PS4 and Xbox One right now. But hopefully it gets more exposure with the Vita version being released soon and the new console launches done. I personally think Stick it is one of those games that a good number of people probably would enjoy a lot if they just gave it a chance, so I guess it's just a question of spreading the word. :)

Yeah I think next-gen is sort of taking the limelight over this game but I definitely haven't forgotten about it and the positive impressions. Looking forward to going through it on my vita while in bed, some time soon.

sadly, it appears this should have been a PS4 title. It would get so much more exposure...just look at Contrast.

I could point you in the general direction, let's see...
one is all the way to the left, the other one is towards the top of the base (there should be a spaghetti robot there :p)

I'm currently in chapter 9. I will wait until i finish the game for a small review on gameplay.

However, i can already say that i love the presentation in this game: from the lovely, fresh and original visuals (the cardboard look, the colors, the backgrounds,...) to the music and sound effects. The city backgrounds look especially great and atmospheric, with all the colored lights and different layers and levels. Also, whenever i start the game, i always spent some time in the lovely looking menu to hear that great title song before actually starting to play. So great job on that. It's easily one of my favourite games presentation wise.

I'll write more about controls, gameplay and story once i finish the game.

This game is excellent. I will admit, I wasn't feeling it for the first few chapters, but it clicked for me at about chapter 4 and I'm having a great time with it now. Very funny and very distinctive. Unfortunately, I just arrived at chapter 6 and got hit by a bug that rendered all the character dialogue inaudible. I turned the game off for the night, but I hope the problem doesn't persist when I get back into it tomorrow.

Anyway, I heartily recommend it to anyone who enjoys independent oddities.

I agree, the game really takes off in chapter 4. The first three chapters are kind of short and work more as an introduction to the premise and gameplay. Still entertaining, but ch 4 definitely kicks things up a notch.
Also, I love the music in chapter 4 and several of the characters introduced. Actually, I think the entire soundtrack is great, but still. :)
And sorry to hear about the bug. :/ Hope it doesn't show up again. Glad you're still enjoying the game though!

I finished the game yesterday and had a great time playing. The game reminded me a lot of The Cave from Sega.

Some thoughts:
+ excellent presentation: visuals, music, sound effects and voice acting are superb. Extra points for a fantastic title tune and the gorgeous visual design.
+ interesting mix of gameplay styles: puzzle, adventure and (light) platforming
+ varied and interesting cast of characters
+ decent gameplay length for the price
+ fresh, original and funny at times

- controls with the arm could have been better. Especially selecting heads to read was a problem. In some cases, things weren't selectable until you were in a certain position. In other cases, i selected a teleport pin when i was trying to select an enemy head,...
- buggy: at some point, dialogue was either running behind or not spoken at all. Sometimes, stickers didn't appear (especially the ones on enemies). Also strange save mechanic because when quitting the game, i had to redo some parts. I thought the game was saved on each checkpoint but it doesn't seem that way.
- solving the puzzles rarely had that satisfying "yes, i solved this due to logical thinking" kind of feeling that only the best puzzle games have (and most adventure games don't)
- the game was a tad too weird and absurd at times for my taste. Due to that, some of the humor was lost on me.

Conclusion: i'd give it a solid 8.5/10 and i think it's a great game well worth buying. I will keep an eye on what Ripstone does next for sure.

This game needs a patch, it's buggy as hell. On four separate occasions now I've had dialogue become inaudible and minds become unable to be read. I have to quit to the XMB menu to fix this. At one point, after escaping some agents, the chase music continued to play anyway, so I had to go back to them and be 'unchased'. A fair way into chapter 9, after
blowing off the door with the bomb
, dialogue became inaudible again and the agents in the area didn't chase after me. I thought I'd fall to my death as an attempt to reset things, but Ray kept on falling and didn't die, so I quit to the main menu. Now when I continue to where I left off, I can't progress because Ray is still falling, but at the last checkpoint. So it looks like I have to redo chapter 9 all over again.

Great game, but fix this shit! It's seriously hurting my opinion of it.

I never noticed any bugs at all during my playthrough of the game. Hope they get fixed though.

What gives with the Vita version being 2GB - is that the same after installation? Digital space is pricey on vita btw.

Must be for the touch pad controls.
Seems the game isn't free for those that got the ps3 ver. Yet. Hope it gets fixed by tomorrow.

The developer said it was cross-buy, correct? Or was that just a rumor?

I bought the PS3 version explicitly because it was supposed to be cross-buy.

So the Vita version is up via search for EU territories via the webstore, but again this doesn't seem to be CrossBuy.

Did the US store fix it up or is this game just not YOPO?

The game is indeed YOPO, the store just hasn't updated properly yet. If you already bought the PS3 ver. log into the store via your vita and search for the game and it should show up as free.
That's how I did it at least. Otherwise, just wait til thursday and check again.

It's totally YOPO, just give it a little time and that issue should fix itself :)

Nice! I had a felling there'd be a Steam/PC ver.
Hope there'd be a 2-pack as I'd like to make a giveaway of it

Glad I spotted this thread, thanks for the impressions!

Just finished the third chapter!
Really enjoying it so far. Very original. Quirky fun. Good humour too...
Have to say the voice acting is superb (as expected). I'll try and get some more chapters done tomorrow.

Great addition to the Vita library.
