War and Fall of Cybertron were two of my favorite games this gen. A next-gen one would be amazing, particularly if it were a game that was much larger in scope than the ones we've gotten so far.

Rocksteady and High Moon are two companies I'd love to make an appearance at VGX.

Still, The Fall of Cybertron was one of the few VGA trailers I actually remember. Dat Bruticus. Dat Grimlock.

And don't forget that WW and LbW are both out now in America and Europe, which could be another argument for a soonish reveal for Zelda U.

Agreed.

If High Moon are working on a next gen instalment I hope they bring back co op for campaign mode, it worked really well in War for Cybertron imo

Not to say games like Bayonetta 2 or X don't fit, but neither of those would have the system seller status for the Wii U that Zelda or Smash would have, and Nintendo not capitalizing on this would be foolish giving their current predicament.

I still remember the Twilight Princess E3 trailer and how it brought the house down. Nintendo need to start creating moments like that for the Wii U if they want to stand a chance of turning the system around.

That was incredibly weird to me. That's like one of their best studios, even if Deadpool was just meh.

Zelda reveal is not that slim really, they said they could show it at E3, was pulled from showing it at comic-con, and they said they will prob show it before the end of the year after WWHD and ALBW come out, with all that info Zelda almost makes sense to be shown.

The games Nintendo could show that would hype me that most
Zelda WiiU
Metroid
or Smash Bros and say its coming out by June

I just feel like we have to take those statements with a huge grain of salt. I think those teases might could have been very well just products of the dire Wii U situation: the people at Nintendo know that they need every little bit of hype they can get and the prospect of a closer-than-you-think Zelda game is enough to get fans a little excited.

I can't really imagine that Aounuma actually wanted to show Zelda U at Comic-Con, for example. He has been there as part of ALBW's promotional tour: Why would he show anything related to the next big game in the franchise that would take attention away from ALBW before it was even on the market? That's not the way marketing (normally) works.

I think trying to find any pattern or hint with Nintendo is pointless. They work on a "whenever the fuck we want" schedule and are highly prone to making whatever changes they feel like at the last possible minute. It's Nintendo. What they're doing at VGX could be quite literally anything.

Hopefully they announce some download only titles for between December 7th and March 11th. We need more games soon!

Also, I expect an extended QB demo, Black Tusk trailer, Halo 5 trailer and Sunset Overdrive gameplay trailer. Maybe a surprise or two like the Titanfall beta starting in February.

For some reason it's not listed yet.

...wait a second, I just checked the Spike twitter feed and it says "Streams Live Dec. 7th!"

Then a few days later they'll have a 1 hour recap on TV. :\

That doesnt make sense, these were not things said in a Nintendo Direct, they were stuff said in different interviews with different sites. If they wanted to hype Zelda WiiU to get hype for WiiU then they would hype Zelda WiiU.

The game should be far along, its been 2 year since the last console Zelda and Iwata said they wanna try to get the next console Zelda game out quicker and not have to wait so late in the WiiU life cycle for the game.

With that said wouldnt showing Zelda WiiU early would give hype to the WiiU?

Interviews are as much PR as everything else. Those things aren't being said randomly.

IIRC Sunset Overdrive is confirmed here in gaf by a guy who works at Insomniac that it will not be shown this year, Black Tusk will probably be one of their big E3 titles and I doubt we'll see Japanese games since Spencer already said that they are planning to announce the partnerships from Japan near the launch of the console there.

MS will probably just show a new trailer of Titanfall (Halo 5 beta?), a gameplay video of Quantum Break and a new in engine trailer of Halo 5...in other words don't get your hopes up people.
