Digital Storm was one of the first companies to reveal its Steam Machine — its own take on Valve's formula for the perfect living room gaming PC. Today, the company's getting the news out ahead of Valve's announcement yet again, formally announcing that the new Digital Storm Bolt II will go on sale later this month for $1,899.

The Bolt II dual-boots Windows and SteamOS, and features liquid cooling by default — which allows the company to overclock the Intel Core i5-4670K processor to a speedy 4.2GHz right out of the reasonably small box

According to the company, the system may not ship with SteamOS until the new operating system is out of beta, and Digital Storm is still finalizing the machine's specs at the starting $1,899 price point, but expects it to come with a 1TB hard drive, a 120GB solid state drive, and Windows to start. Upgrades will likely include a GeForce GTX 780 Ti or a GeForce Titan graphics card, and an Intel Core i7-4770K processor. Digital Storm tells us the all-important Steam Controller won't come with the computer, but be available to purchase later on.

After iBuyPower's prototype, here's another one: http://www.theverge.com/2013/12/11/...-first-steam-machine-will-be-a-1469-gaming-pc

"Rather than try to compete with console pricing, our system takes aim at the high end of the market and capitalizes on PC gaming's biggest advantage, raw performance," the company's statement reads.

While details are scarce, it will come with liquid cooling for the CPU, an advanced thermal-management system of some sort, and can optionally dual-boot both Windows and SteamOS so gamers can play games for both operating systems. Options include a GeForce GTX Titan graphics card and a 700W power supply. At 4.4 inches wide, 14.1 inches deep, and 16.4 inches tall, it's a good bit bigger than an Xbox One, but it should hopefully still be able to fit into a home entertainment system lying down. We should get more when Valve announces the full lineup of Steam Machines at CES 2014 next month.

It better include a Titan at that price

A $1400 prebuilt I guess 4670 and GTX 770 at best + the mark up.

Titan in a $1400 pc will never happen, the rest of the PC will be made up of i3 or Pentium.

if $1,469 is the model with a titan, I guess it is not that expensive in relations to custom made PCs.

Edit: I guess it is not.

I still don't get the market for these things. If someone is interested in spending that much on a PC they'd probably want to build it themselves. I also still see zero advantage in buying one of these over just plugging the PC you have into your TV.

.. the new Digital Storm computer will start at a comparatively pricy $1,469.

.. Options include a GeForce GTX Titan graphics card and a 700W power supply. .

yeah I don't think the Titan is included in the base model.

I agree. I think the market for high-end luxury Steam machines will be insignificantly small.

That picture is so hilariously covered in 'darkness' that I can't even make out the form factor the machine.

That's because they haven't come out yet. One of the main complaints with PC gaming in regards to console gaming is ease-of-use. This is what the Steambox is trying to solve. I imagine that you'll be able to see on Steam whether or not your Steambox will be able to run a game and how well it will run. Not to mention casuals won't have to build their own PC as it's already pre-built.

Well there aren't many small form factor cases like these. I'd be estatic if this pushes companies to release smaller cases and we could have more options for building small form factor pcs.

I know people who buy $3000+ prebuilt PCs from Dell and shit, although I've convinced them to build their own now. I'm sure these will sell to people with money who don't know what they're doing.

WOW great price!!!! You get to play PC games for the price of a PS4+XBONE+WiiU+32inchtv!!!!!!! I get the felling this is going to sell like hotcakes!
